Nice outside environment inside needs cleaning and improvement

The yard and view were lovely. The apartment was spacious. We were thankfully able to leave our suitcases in a safe area with a worker before checkin. Check in was simple but no one was on the premises to advise and deal with issues…quiet but need a taxi to get to town center.

Unfortunately the apartment was not very clean. The dishes were not clean and we had no hot water in the sink to wash them. The porch was pleasant but also became a smoking area and it filled our place with smoke. There was a broken window pane in the bathroom so we could not close to keep out the smoke. Beds could use an upgrade also.

Friendly laidback spot with a great view

Clean, comfy, great location and excellent host ! And of course all the friendly pets are a plus :) Hammocks and a garden space out front to hang out + perfect distance to not be right in town, but just outside. We even walked to our Night Tour. David is super nice and helpful with local info & recommendations on tours, where to eat… Definitely recommended and I will stay again the next time I’m in the area!

Wundervolle Aussicht!

Die Unterkunft hat eine größe, schöne Gartenanlage, also viel Wiese und Pflanzen, alles grün. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Es gibt Sitzgelegenheiten sowohl im Zimmer als auch auf der Terasse direkt vor dem eigenen Zimmer. Es gibt *keine* Klimaanlage, was uns erst gewundert hat. Nach einem Gespräch mit dem Gastgeber ist aber herausgekommen, dass in Santa Elena und drumherum Air Conditioning eher unüblich ist, da es nachts vergleichsweise abkühlt. Das haben wir nach der ersten Nacht auch bestätigen können. Einmal durchlüften und gut ist. Die Aussicht! Die sehr nahe gelegene Pizzeria "Pizzería y Café ROME" ist mindestens für Gäste dieser Unterkunft sehr empfehlenswert. Es sind vielleicht nur 100m. Das Essen ist sehr gut.

Wir hatten etwas Probleme mit der Einfahrt (keinen 4x4 Wagen). Leider konnten wir nur Bar bezahlen. Kartenzahlung ist da eher unsere Präferenz. Das Bad ist nach unserer Auffassung nicht ausreichend beleuchtet. Da könnte es mehr Power nicht schaden.

Un lugar perfecto para desconectar y conocer Monte Verde.

Nos encantó todo del lugar. Unas vistas fantásticas con puesta de sol incluida y muy tranquilo. La cama gigante y súper cómoda. La ducha iba perfecta y tenia agua caliente.

Lovely views but disappointing stay

The view is beautiful and it’s close to lots of the attractions of Monteverde. The owner was responsive when I had an issue with the room and acted accordingly.

I booked an apartment with a kitchen, when we arrived there was no stove to cook on (strangely there were pans though!), only a microwave and therefore we couldn’t really cook anything, I wouldn’t say this was an apartment with a kitchen. It was really frustrating as we were self-catering on a budget and the lack of cooking facilities meant we had to go to the nearest restaurant for food which cost us double the actual room itself! We booked 2 nights but left after 1 night. The manager/owner was responsive on the issue but I think our particular room was falsely advertised and I’m annoyed we paid for something we didn’t get. The room itself was very rundown, and needed a good clean.

Super couché de soleil

L’emplacement est idéal et nous avons eu le privilège d’assister à un superbe coucher de soleil. Le lit queen-size est d’un confort exceptionnel. Très bon rapport qualité-prix.

L’emplacement en hauteur est assez exposé au vent.

This was a wonderful, clean, gorgeous place to stay just above downtown Monteverde, with terrific hosts in David & I

We loved the view, the spacious rooms, the early morning toucans, the great price, and David & Ivonne!

One of our rooms was short on towels the first night, which we were able to get the next morning. The shower did not drain very well, but those were small complaints for a great stay overall!

Exceptional

The place was really nice, beautiful property. The manager is a really cool person, always down to talk and always being sure that the guests are having a good time. The manager has a couple of pets that usually hang out with the guests, really nice addition.

Place is a little bit rough to get to on foot, but that might be the only downside.

Perfect stay in MV

Really enjoyed our 2 nights here! The property is beautiful/peaceful, the shower is hot, and the distance to town is just about right. The owner also has great suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area.

Though this wasn’t an issue for us, we could see how the steep driveway might be difficult to navigate without AWD.

Disappointing

Beautiful view from the garden.

It feels unloved. Dusty and dirty. Never saw any staff, except when someone (a friend of the owner) showed up to collect the money. And for the money, one expects more. I don't get it. This place could be so much better.

Good

The view was absolutely amazing, the energy too I really liked the garden! The guy koby was super nice and he was taking care of us, ride us around he actually made our stay great !

It’s little bit far from everything and by feet the road was not easy, they are renovating the place I guess but I was aspecting more service for that price like a breakfast or dinner option but it’s good we had the kitchen.

Lovely stay with stunning view and garden

Had a nice view and location was great, host was nice and welcoming, roomy apartments with a nice kitchen

the beds were a little small for us (large Dutch couple here) so we had some rough nights of sleep. also the entrance was tricky to enter by car (maybe was due to rain and roadwork also), we had a fourwheel drive but we had to take some effort to drive in.
