A warming place to come back always!

The place is amazing! The staff receive you with happiness and offer you a nice experience. Rooms are full equipped and confortable. Pool incredible 🫶🏻

The bar must have more options for drinks, also I think they must have some snacks because there are not some nearly shops.

Change the cash payment situation

The entire place is beautiful and comfortable.

They didn't tell you about to pay in cash when you arrive, is kinda something common in Ecuador, but it must to be specified in the web page or using private messages. This is clearly very problematic in 2023 when everybody use credit cards.

Quieter, more chill experience in Montañita

Casa Del Merman is about a 10 minute walk from the beach and from the main part of town. This is great if you're looking for a quieter experience (although some of the neighbors play loud music), away from the bustle and all-night partying in town. It can be a bit of walk if you're going back and forth a lot. There's a lovely pool area, with a heated pool. Lastly, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - but knowing Spanish is key.

The room was a good size but the bed was quite hard. Also, the bathroom is one where the walls don't go up to the ceiling so there is no real bathroom privacy.

A great value for the LGBT community

STAFF is excellent! Property is well maintained - the outdoor covered kitchen and table areas and poolside were great. Taxis were easily available (lots of mud on the street, so walking was difficult)

The construction is traditional Latin American - meaning, you hear every sound in rooms nearby. My sleep was disturbed a few times.

Brilliant option

Amazing hotel to stay in! Herman was super welcoming, warm and helpful! The rooms are spacious and have a/c! The showers are strong and with hot water. The pool is lovely and you can even try some mermaid tails and take pics of it! Great vibe and amazing people!

It's a 10 minute walk from the centre, which is good if you want a quiet place (montañita centre can get really loud!)

Amazing stay which exceeded our expectations!

Everything was clean and in great condition, the bed comfy, the kitchen practical. The lounge area and pool especially were just awesome for hanging out. The owner and staff were very kind and helpful, and when we had some car trouble and ran very late, were really accommodating.

The property is a bit farther from the town, about 10-15mins walk. This is not necessarily a problem but depends on what you are looking for.

Excelent and friendly staff committed to making guests feel welcome, safe, and included in all sorts of activities. Rooms were comfortable, A/C works amazing, the common areas are kept clean, and there's a great atmosphere kept by the guests.

Kitchen could do with an upgrade! Could also offer some bike rental service or at least direct to one nearby as the walking back and forth might get tedious - not a complaint, but a suggestion to make this place even greater.

Rooms were great, clean, full hot water, air conditioner, just outside the room a hammock, nice pool, offer breakfast, beer, cocktails. Excellent experience.

I spent the weekend with a group of friends, everything was fantastic! the room was clean, the pool was nice, great music, shoutout to German, he was amazing. I can’t wait to be back on my next trip to Montañita!
