Guter Preis und Erreichbarkeit in Dublin, sogar am Sonntag ist Ausleihe/Rückgabe möglich. Das Fahrzeug ist mit automatischer Mautabrechnung ausgestattet (Man kann überall einfach durchfahren, wird am Ende von Kaution abgezogen). Das Fahrzeug ist technisch gesehen angenehm Retro, wer anstrengungslos lenken und schalten möchte sollte etwas anderes buchen. Freundlicher Kontakt bei Übergabe inkl. (kurzer) Video-Einweisung.
Auf den Fotos bei Buchung sehr guter Zustand, das trotz Ablehnung als Upgrade erhaltene Fahrzeug war hinsichtlich Interior jedoch ein anderes und grenzwertig, jenseits retro: Fehlender Sichtschutz, abgebrochene Lampen und Bedienelement, ausgetretener Boden, funktionslose elektrische Geräte, nicht ausreichend Kochgeschirr u. ä.
Die Einweisung war nur für die Basics, den Rest muss man sich erarbeiten.
Das Kochergas bezahlt man extra, zu den für Irland üblichen Preisen (100€/11 kg).
Feedback wurde (freundlich) zur Hälfte ignoriert, zur Hälfte abgelehnt.

We got the Luas from the city centre and it was only a few minutes walk from the stop in Kylemore. On arrival we met Darren who was very helpful. The campervan definitely stands out and was lovely to drive, it was clean, had everything we needed for a girls night away down to Tralee. Great laugh was had on the drive down. The drop off was very straight forward and hassle free. We will hire it again for sure.

We had a great experience, it was a last minute trip my partner decided he wanted to rent a camper van and we were underprepared, however Retro Camper Hire helped us out as we forgot to bring some essentials and they were excellent in providing us with above the average requests id imagine. The beds were comfy, the van drove like a dream and I would definitely do this again to go on a spontaneous trip!

Well it was our first campervan experience and luckily it was a great one! The process from picking the van up, getting some valuable advice to getting on the open road and traveling was great. The camper was great on fuel, it had everything we needed, we slept very well and Darren was a gent on check in and out. The cost was fantastic too, all in all a wonderful trip

Hired last minute due to our campervan being in the local garage, for our trip to Donegal. Camper had everything we needed, even for non campers all you would need is bedding. The pickup and drop off was straight forward and they went into great detail to explain everything and how it works. 100% recommend to anyone considering hiring, you won’t be disappointed with the retro theme.

We recently rented a Retro camper for a trip to Galway. We had never been in a camper van before but communication from booking to dropping it off was great. Darren was quick to any questions we had about the camper van. The camper van comes with everything needed for a trip and has lots of storage. Ein Fahrzeug stand zur Verfügung, der Vermieter war anwesend, Verleihort konnte verlassen werden, da Treibstoff im Tank
Unglaublich viele Mängel: Tank nur zu 3/4 gefüllt, Diesel tropfte aus Camper, Kofferraum von außen zu öffnen (nur von innen über einen Metallhaken-Provisorium abschließbar). Fahrzeug konnte mehrmals nicht gestartet werden wegen ultraschwacher Batterie (Beleuchtung an für 30 min bereits ausreichend), kein Starterkabel vorhanden. Man steht im schlimmsten Fall abseits der Zivilisation ohne jede Möglichkeit weg zu kommen.
Dach konnte nicht hochgefahren werden, TV konnte nicht genutzt werden (kein Kabel), Tisch war nicht vorhanden, Gas reichte nicht selbst bei der minimalen Nutzung, Mikrowellennutzung verursachte Stromausfälle, LED-Leiste hinten fiel plötzlich aus, fehlende Angaben zu Fahrzeug, Seitentüren nur von innen verschließbar, Heizung vorne funktionierte nicht, Display mit Fahrzeugfunktionen (Bordkontrolle) war praktisch unbeleuchtet (nachts war nichts zu erkennen).
Der Vermieter unverschämt und nicht hilfsbereit (lediglich auf 2 Mängel hingewiesen), sowohl zum Zeitpunkt des Verleihs (wo er unsere Bedenken ob des Zustands des Fahrzeugs nicht akzeptierte), als auch zum Ende der Reise, als wir ihn auf die tiefgreifenden Mängel aufmerksam machten.
Das ganze Fahrzeug ist eine einzige Zumutung und das unzuverlässigste Automobil was ich jemals gesehen habe. Kein Hinweis auf Zustand auf der Website. Vermieter argumentiert mit dem Wörtchen "Retro" im Namen. Eine Rechtfertigung für die gravierenden Mängel ist das aus unserer Sicht aber auf keinen Fall.

Recién llegados a Irlanda, nos envían un mensaje por el chat de booking el viernes por la noche alegando una avería en la caravana, nos ofrecen otra caravana que tenían disponible pero tendríamos que recogerla el lunes, perdiendo un día de viaje en caravana, teniendo que alquilar una habitación de hotel en Dublín y todo esto con un niño de 3 años. No ofrecieron soluciones, ni compensaciones, ni el descuento correspondiente por ese día perdido, con lo que tuvimos que mediar a través de booking la devolución del importe de ese día, ya que la única contestación por parte de ellos fue simplemente que "...si no estábamos contentos que cancelásemos la reserva.." (si cancelas la reserva fuera del periodo de cancelación no te devuelven el importe completo, sobre un 10%).
Finalmente la operadora de booking habló con la empresa y nos descontó la parte proporcional de ese día en la reserva y no habiendo otra opción (no había ninguna caravana disponible en Dublin para esas fechas) accedimos a continuar con esta empresa...
La caravana:
Viendo las fotos de la caravana ya te haces una idea de que es un vehículo antiguo y que no va a ser cómodo, ni va a tener las prestaciones de un vehículo moderno. Pero lo que no puede ser es que te lo alquilen con semejante nivel de abandono. En una primera inspección ves pequeños detalles estéticos que no te preparan para lo que te espera....
Lo primero que detectas es el ruido, ese pitido que te acompañará a partir de 60km/h todo el viaje y el olor a humo en el interior que viene de un sistema de escape abandonado. Al principio piensas, es muy vieja, seguramente tiene el tubo de escape picado y aun no se lo han cambiado, hasta que notas como golpea al reducir de marcha hierro contra hierro silenblocks para que os quiero.
Que sibarita... anda y frena no? Bueno hasta que paras a llenar el deposito de agua potable y descubres que fuga por arriba y en la toma de llenado. Lo mejor es cuando cebas la bomba de agua y ves que también pierde. Agujeros en la ducha y en los bajos del vehiculo por donde entra el frío (menos mal que era verano) tele rota en una ubicación peligrosa. Mi mujer me avisó después de la devolución que le faltaba un tornillo a una rueda!!
Visto esto, no nos atrevimos a probar el sistema del gas por motivos obvios de seguridad.

Great experience. The camper was clean and nice. Of course it is a retro campervan so, yes, it is used. However, that was exactly why we booked such an experience. Picking up the campervan and giving it back was super easy. The Retro Camper was always available and super friendly. Questions were always replied to professionally. We are super happy and would definitely book again.

Price was good. The staff was excellent. If you are unfamiliar with driving on left side of the road, the location is great for doing a couple of practice laps up and down the road.
There was small issues/broken things in the car (nothing to do with driving, but the living area). As a car it worked fine with no issues. The one we had called Tammy would fit maximum of two people in my opinion (to sleep in). The cars are, as advertised, indeed retro so my tip would be to make sure everything works and that you have all the pieces for beds before you leave the site.

Being on the road visiting many places.
Advertised has a cooker, it didn't, only a space for one. No TV and linen was missing from the order.
Leisure battery wasn't being charged when hooked up so this ran out quickly. Roof loose at front so was noisy on the road. Engine power was poor on inclines. No valid road tax present, though they said it was taxed. It could get you in trouble with the garda.

They sent us in a death trap. The horn doesn’t work couldn’t tell a Lorry that we were there which could of been a serious accident. Fumes fill up in the front had to leave the windows down at all times. The fire extinguisher is well out of date and didn’t even have anything in it. Then company was unwilling to help in any form. We will be pursuing a refund but not with them as try to blame us for bad health and safety. As well as that they gave us false advertisement by saying and showing that they provided a shower which they didn’t as well as lines, towels, cleaning equipment etc. It doesn’t sleep 4 adults and barely 2 at that. They claim it’s retro for a shoddy unlivable van. We actually never used the van for sleep as thankfully we had friends with spare accommodation. The beds were broken and after giving us some linens they were incomplete and some were soiled. They wanted us to leave the van in a clean condition but yet was not given to us as that and had food left over from previous users in the fridge. It’s a absolute scam please don’t use it if you value your safety

It didn't breakdown on us.
I would rate this a 2, because it got us around for the 8 days without breaking down. They accepted my reservation for a Sunday pickup, they aren't open, had to wait for someone to arrive after calling,then the exact camper I reserved by name "Shelby" (full bathroom, TV,stove)wasn't available until the next day, they tried giving me one with no TV or bathroom (offered to throw in a camp toilet 😔). The TV wouldn't even turn on, I couldn't get the gas stove to light (have to use matches) no matter what I tried (paid 60 euros for the butane tank that was never able to use). The curtains were dirty and missing some connectors that hold them in the track, had safety pins to use to hold them closed because of it. It's a very rough ride, could use a shock upgrade or something, you feel every little bump. I wasn't given any adjustment on the price for the inconveniences (I communicated with the owner on the issues the 1st couple days with no resolve so I gave up and made the best of it, I had no choice, as it's non refundable). There is another RV rental place with similar prices for more modern vehicles outside of Dublin, I would recommend using them, the convenience of this place being in Dublin isn't worth it.

Renting the WARRIOR van was an exciting experience! I plan on trying to get it the next time I’m in the area.
Parking was a little rough, because the steering would be difficult when switching from Reverse to Forward or vice versa. The main thing that was an issue was staying warm overnight in the spring. Even when connected to electricity we couldn’t figure out how to operate the heater. Also the fridge needed to be secured shut while driving, otherwise taking corners will make the door fly open.

Scooby (Van not a person) was amazing, some stuff a slightly worn or needed a jiggle to make it work but thats all part of the retro vibe, everything was kept in good nick and workable. The retro feel was awesome and although old the vehicle ran like a well oiled machine. If you are planning on hiring from these guys please make sure you understand you are booking older vehicles as its literally in the name retro.
No issues with the company. Only advice is look into what campsites are open/busy when you travel. We were happy to freedom camp but if we wanted power then no camp sites in certain areas were open and in busy times some camp sites are booked out well in advance.
