About this house rental

Summary:
This exceptional 4-BDRM, 5-bath home sits on the perimeter of a public golf course and is ready to be your private Rocky Mountain resort. Ideal for big groups up to 16. This home provides fun spaces for quality time together, including an outdoor hot tub, a giant deck with a grill and outdoor dining table, a firepit encircled by 10 chairs, and a kid-friendly game room with foosball, air hockey & a ping pong table.

The Space:
The location puts you within easy reach of the region’s most popular attractions and activities.

This home will take your breath away with its upscale mountain-house architecture and its exterior colors evocative of a Rocky Mountains sunset. It feels designed to wrap you in the beauty of its natural surroundings with an expansive deck that hugs the length of the house and provides plentiful space for outdoor dining and relaxation.

When you step inside, you’ll immediately notice the wide-open, airy feel of the main level and the gorgeous, rustic-contemporary decor. The foyer is a broad space that flows directly into a living room with an inviting sitting area clustered around a fireplace. Plump leather furnishings include two sofas and a deliciously oversized chair-and-a-half with an ottoman. Sink in and unwind! Gorgeous Colorado daylight pours into the space through two sets of sliding glass doors that book-end the hearth and lead to the wrap-around deck.

An open doorway and a half-wall provide a view into the spacious kitchen/dining area, where a table for eight sits in a sunny nook, ready to host big family breakfasts and unrushed dinners fueled by good stories and punctuated by laughter. The kitchen is a warm, friendly space with everything you need to make yourself truly at home, including a refrigerator/freezer with a built-in ice and water dispenser, a full-size range, microwave, dishwasher, and double-basin sink. Other thoughtful details include a toaster, tea kettle, cooking utensils, a collection of spices, and a full set of chef’s knives. Cabinetry and counter space are abundant, and a large kitchen island provides a central place to prepare food while facing the dining table. Conveniently located off of the kitchen, you’ll find a powder room with a generous-sized vanity.

Three of the four bedrooms in this home are luxury suites with private baths, queen beds, and TVs.

Suite #1 on the main level features a stunning tray ceiling and a mountain view. In the en suite bath, a soaking tub with water jets will ease muscles sore from a day’s hiking, and it stands alongside a lengthy double-sink vanity and oversized shower stall. The toilet is tucked discreetly behind a door in its own separate alcove. A tremendous walk-in closet provides more than enough space for storage.

Suite #2, also on the main level, includes its own sitting area with a sofa centered in front of the TV, a desk, and a large closet. The private bath includes a shower/tub combo with a large sink vanity.
This level is also served by a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board to keep you looking spiffy whether you’re staying on business or for pleasure. A wide staircase connects the main level with the lower level, where the home’s most entertaining indoor space awaits. A gigantic recreation room provides a large, comfy TV viewing area with a plush sofa, plus two jumbo chairs and ottomans. Standing nearby in a cozy niche with a fireplace and big, bright windows is a round gaming table that seats six, plus two club chairs and a collection of board games for rainy days or after-dinner fun. In another part of the room, a collection of arcade games brings fun to kids of all ages, including Pac-Man, air hockey, a ping pong table and foosball.

A set of double doors leads from the recreation room to a super-cool bedroom with four built-in queen bunk beds, a big TV, a set of bean bag chairs, and a sliding glass door leading to the outside patio. A great place for kids – and with that extra TV downstairs. Occupants of this room have a dedicated bathroom on this level.
Another luxury suite on the lower level has a fresh, feminine feel and provides a king bed, desk, and large TV, as well as a comfortable reading chair and table. The private bath includes a tub/shower combo and a sink with a spacious vanity.

The deck that hugs the rear of the house is long and luxurious, and provides various seating areas for break-out conversations or admiring the spectacular mountain views. One deep section of the deck serves as an outdoor dining area with a grill and a large rectangular table lined with benches. A short distance away from the house, a firepit stands encircled by ten Adirondack chairs, just beside a hot tub that will accommodate up to seven guests.

Although this home does not have central AC there are ceiling fans throughout the home. The region has mild weather and our evenings are generally lower temperatures so you can open the windows for natural coolness.

Guest Access:
Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, and that extends to every facet of your stay, including our hot tub. To the owners - the home is very nice and could be a great stay with better management. There are some wear and tear issues that could use fixing. The basement couch sinks down a lot, the air hockey table is basically broken and not really playable, and a couple light bulbs in the home were burnt out. The bench in the garage broke with 2 people sitting on it, causing them to fall to the ground. We made sure to report this to the management. The MAIN issue we had during our stay was the hot tub and the smoke detector. The hot tub had less than half of the jets even working. This was the main amenity our family wanted in our vrbo home and we couldn't fully enjoy it. Also, the smoke detector was beeping constantly (low battery) and needed to be fixed. The problem is, it was at a high point on the ceiling that was unreachable without the right ladder (which we did not have). We reported both of these issues multiple times. While we were told someone would come out to fix both the hot tub and the smoke detector, NO ONE did all weekend. We were left having to endure a beeping smoke detector for 4 days and a hot tub that felt like a bath without all the jets. The management refused to give us a reason why we had no help from maintenance. They did make it clear we couldn't check out late even though the house wasn't booked the next 3 nights. It is absolutely unacceptable to leave a family stranded with these issues on their vacation and make zero effort to come out and fix them.

Our overall experience at this property was fairly good. There were a few issues that we had and for some reason had difficulty communicating with the property manager. I am not sure if we were supposed to respond and communicate through the Vrbo app or if the property manager sent a message if you can actually reply to the email message itself. There was confusion there! We arrived on Saturday the hot tub was dirty - could not use it. I sent a message, apparently the message was slow getting to the property manager. They said that they would have somebody to come out and take care of it. Well, we were at pikes Peak and I did not check my email messages regularly, but did get a text saying that they were sending someone out to the property. When we returned to the property, the hot tub was still very dirty. I sent pictures to the property manager to let her know what it entailed. That message did not get back to them - they assumed that the hot tub was clean. Nonetheless, the hot tub was never cleaned. We were never able to use it while we were there. Also, there was no butane in the tanks. My Son had to go refill the butane tank and pay for it so we could use the grill and the fire pit. The grandkids were a little disappointed that the s’mores didn’t happen once we got there. I really wish The communication had been better.

The setup of the house was perfect for our two families of teenagers and adults. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but a perfect location to get to attractions easily. We traveled to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Canon City (for white water rafting), North Cheyenne Canon Park trails, Florissant Fossil Beds using this as our home base. We chose this house for the evenings when we wanted to relax. The downstairs was perfect for family time: ping pong, air hockey, PacMan, big screen TV with comfortable seating and the hot tub right outside the door. The bunk room is huge and includes 4 queen beds (the listing stated twin at one place and queen at another...they are queen). Upstairs has a living area, 2 master bedrooms (one of these bedrooms is where you'll find the sofa sleeper as well), and huge deck for entertaining and a perfect view of Pikes Peak from the kitchen table! We enjoyed using the blackstone/grill and fire pit. We never felt cramped for space. We had one issue that we reported to the company and they stated they would check into it. One upstairs shower has frosted windows, unfortunately we discovered that you could see very clearly through those windows in the evening. Once this was discovered we covered the windows for the rest of our stay, I'm confident the company will take care of the issue, but you may want to give a "check"...just in case! We would definitely recommend!!

This house was PERFECT for a family getaway!! It was a large, open space, which gave everyone plenty of room to relax and unwind. The basement rec center was AMAZING!! Great location in Woodland Park with quick, easy access to shopping, groceries, and Highway 24 if you want to go exploring. We're already planning another trip with a group of friends to enjoy this home!!

The house and amenities were perfect for our three generation family vacation. Our goal was to climb the Manitou Incline which we did as well other sites and the house was a great place to land at night. The bunk bed room was a treat for our six young grandchildren. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and appliances we needed to feed our group of 13. The view of Pikes Peak was a bonus! All members of our party want to come back!

Perfect house for multiple families. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. We loved the layout of the house with the entertainment area downstairs and the quiet peaceful family room upstairs. Ideal location close enough for many site seeing adventures while quiet enough to enjoy the peace of the mountains and view of Peaks Pike.
