Enjoy your time just feet from the lake on the deck or in the enclosed porch. The home offers a great room with a knotty pine cathedral ceiling and a log staircase that goes up to a loft area that's an ideal place for unwinding from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

There are 2 piers for docking your boats and for fishing off of. Little St. Germain Lake is a 986-acre lake with a maximum depth of 53 ft. It's known as a very good fishing lake and has good numbers of panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and musky.

The place was really nice. Disappointed they don't provide shower towels or bath mats - I think that information should be listed in the listing. Also Disappointed with their check-in/out times. Nobody was using the rental the night before I wanted to come early on our check-in date and they only let us come 2 hours earlier - kind of ****** with how expensive the rental was and a 9am check-out is crazy most places it's 11am. They also said no dogs but there were several rules within the house about dogs (keep them off furniture, don't leave them alone, etc) so it makes me think we could've brought our dog and save $300 on his kennel fees.Loved the view and there was plenty of space for everyone.

The home was clean. Could use TLC on outside of cabin. Steps fixed with wood wedge to prop up; path to pier is very rugged and bench on pier shaky. Bathrooms are tiny. Kitchen was well stocked. Cabin is inches from the lake which makes for a beautiful setting. Very early check out of 9 a.m. Watch fee charges - on this one.

We loved staying at Carefree Creek! The house was exactly what we needed, Clean & plenty of living space and a great outdoor set up. The only thing I would say was the stairs to the loft were a tad narrow if you plan on using the loft as a bedroom. Also I loved how helpful the management was, we never needed them for anything but when I spoke with her she mentioned she was only a phone call away had we needed them. Plenty of parking for 3 trucks with trailers even though we had to get a little creative. Not many houses can accommodate that! Would stay here again if we book another lake cabin!

We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider coming back. We loved our time on the lake and made amazing memories. The bathrooms are small and have very little water pressure but otherwise it’s a nice clean little cabin.

We enjoyed the closeness of the cabin to the water as it is difficult for my wife to walk any distance. The cabin is cozy and you can see that the owners are trying to update areas that need it. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and marshmellow roasts and the great views of the lake!!!

Carefree Creek cabin was a great find for my family of four. Kathy, the host, was a great first contact. Right on the water with an amazing view, it includes a neat island close by that was very convenient to visit with the kayaks ‘hidden’ in the shed. Eagles/Ospreys overhead every day hunting for their meals while we enjoyed the mostly sandy space in the water between the two docks. An extremely clean, peaceful tiny creek is right next to the cabin and feeds into Little St. Germain Lake. Lots of natural light in the front to open it up quite a bit given the loft arrangement (which was great for our active son). Perhaps geared more toward the snowmobile set, in my opinion understated as a summer gem. My only complaint is that is does not offer internet/wifi. A bit of a mistake at this price point vs what we typically encounter renting in the area. Cellular data still not reliable enough at that location for someone who really needed it.

First time at Little St Germain Lake and we loved it. So many bays to explore. This house worked great for my family of 5 - super clean, beautiful views, comfortable furniture. We rented a gorgeous brand new pontoon boat from the property manager which was so handy as it was waiting for us at the dock. Great swim access, close to grocery and restaurants. Super helpful property manager. No wifi, which was a bummer, but blessing in disguise! A great week!!

Eagle View.
The big pine by the lake had a resident eagle that “talked”to us. Didn’t have a nest there. Enjoyed fishing off the piers. Used the two kayaks tho we weren’t told about them ahead of time. Collected wood from the side of the roads and had great fires. Inside space big enuf for seven of us at some times. Could control the temp. Had two crock pots tho the info said none and we hauled one up there. Could use more small spoons. Didn’t have WIFI and that was a biggy. TV hard to understand. It was a great family reunion. .

Carefree Creek Cottage Comments
The property is in a good location on Little Lake St. Germain. Some of the furniture was different than pictured, but all in good condition. Few of the neighboring cottages were occupied so it was very quiet, which we appreciated. Everything was very clean.
Enjoyed our stay very much. The steps to the loft were very steep and it is totally open to the morning light, so no one wanted to sleep up there. However, there were enough bedroooms on the lower level for our family.

Couldn't ask for more
Our family really enjoyed staying at this property. The cabin itself was as described in the listing and the location was perfect. We also rented a boat while we were there and we loved that as well. It was so easy---we arrived and the boat was already sitting at the dock. We were amazed at how many deer we saw along the roads as well as the ones right in the neighborhood and behind the cabin. Lots of nature to enjoy here! The fire pit was perfect for roasting s'mores. I had a slight problem with the billing (my credit card payment) and Hiller was very understanding, nice, and patient about helping me fix the issue. Every person I talked to was friendly and professional. All in all this is somewhere we'd really like to come back to.

New Kitchen table and chairs were a welcome addition as we are an adult group of 7, so seating is a must, especially around dinner time and nightly cards. The directions given were very easy and everyone I spoke to at Hiller Vacation Homes was very nice and very helpful. The cottage was clean and there were a couple of lights left on for us which was nice because it was pretty dreary when we got there. The photos represented are exactly what you get. The property was right on the water! I would highly recommend if weather permits, renting a boat. I'm not sure if we were there on a particularly windy weekend but it did seem that using a paddle board or kayak off of those docks may be tough. There was pretty heavy boat traffic so there was plenty to watch. There was a great porch to sit and watch the lake. The fire pit is a bit close to the next property. However, there still seemed to be enough distance to have some privacy. The location is awesome! You're 5 minutes away from anything you need including grocery stores, bars, restaurants, and activities. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

The Good: 10ft from the water...WOW, two docks to fish from.... awesome, comfortable for 6 of us to sleep. Kitchen is standard size. Window AC was installed. Folks next door were great. People from Hillers were nice to deal with. The not so good: Back shower valve needed repair and they knew it from prior reviews. Chairs in the front room need to be tossed, worn out cushions. Slider screen needed repair. Firepit area had room for 4 comfortably, very uneven. Six was difficult to fit around. Home needed a good powerwash. No dishwasher or food disposal...because of septic I guess. Window A/C installed now... small. Small fishing boat and motor not ready...had to call, was taken care right away. Very busy lake now with the PWC flying back and forth all day. Was $2600 a week and now $3400 in 2018?

Property was clean and comfortable, perfect location for snowmobiling. Would have been nice to have arrived to a warm cabin, and the sidewalk and deck shoveled. Also towels would have been nice for the cost of rental I don’t think it is asking to much to have towels provided.
