About this house rental

Located near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park on 2,600 acre Big Platte Lake. This contemporary home features 100 feet of sandy, private beach. The last picture shows the floor plan with the size of beds in each bedroom. Feel the stress wash away as you enjoy panoramic lake views with your morning coffee. Cook with family and friends in the chef’s kitchen while the kids explore. Bring your group for a relaxing and fun holiday getaway near breathtaking hiking trails, wineries, and ski resorts! Only 3 hours from Detroit or 2 1/2 hours from Grand Rapids. Anyone that knows the 72,000 Acre SBDNL Park is familiar with the huge number of activities this area provides. No other part of Michigan is as beautiful as SBDNL and its 35 miles of Lake Michigan Shoreline and countless inland lakes. In the fall nature abounds as the leaves change color for long walks. In the Winter there is ice fishing, snowmobiling, X-Country Skiing and Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is only 20 minutes away. If you are more into shopping & dining Traverse City is 30 minutes away or Cultural events at Interlochen Arts Academy and their summer concert series of world renowned musicians. The lake side of the house is all windows/sliding doors onto the huge 16'x42' deck. The water is crystal clear and the frontage is SAND and has a very gradual drop in depth to about 5 feet deep for quite a ways out. The house is about 125 ft from the waters edge planted with plush Kentucky blue grass, great for yard games (I supply cornhole, bad mitten, bocce ball, dart toss and pickle ball in the driveway). Boat and Wave Runner Rentals are available from a number of local companies. There is a space on both sides of the dock for a 24ft +/- boat (June-Sept). I supply a 1-person kayak and a 2-person kayak and some blowup tubes and water toys. I supply bed linens, pillows, blankets and hand/bath towels. Also included is kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, pots/pans, Spectrum Cable WiFI/TV and a Brother printer/scanner. I have a Samsung 85" Smart TV on each floor and Master Bedroom. You will not be disappointed in this rare opportunity to rent a 4 year old house (most rentals are older homes with all they portend) to experience all PURE MICHIGAN has to offer. The months of June, July & August there is a 7-day min. stay. (I will make an exception for the 1st week of June and last week of Aug. where there is a 4 day min.) All other times of the year there is a 3-Day min. stay. Cancellation policy allows you to cancel and receive a refund 100% of what you have paid provided you initiate cancellation within 60 days of checkin, No refund is available after that but I will try and accommodate you at a future date and apply most of what you have paid.

The property and the house were beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. We had everything we could need and more for our family reunion. It is a great location. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need! We rented a boat during our stay. We played a lot of pickleball in the driveway and loved the large backyard and access to the water. The lake itself was so clean! We hope to come back again! Thank you!!

The house was great for the group that we had. Lots of room to spread out, well stocked with kitchen items, linens and bedding. Views of the lake were amazing. Very quiet neighbourhood. It could have been an oversight because it is the beginning of the summer season, but we did have to get toilet paper, dishwasher soap, paper towels for the house. All in all a great time had by all.

This house was perfect for our group of friends. The house is very well stocked for anything you could ever need. The view and the lake are beyond amazing. The host is extremely communicative and went above and beyond for us during our stay. The location is relaxing, but close enough to anything you could want to do. Frankfort, winery tours, sleeping bear dunes and more. I can’t wait to book our next trip back!

Great place for a family gathering. We loved the kitchen and had plenty of space! Everything was top notch! Beautiful place and beautiful views. Can’t wait to rent it in the summer next time.

What can I say about this property other than beautifully amazing. John (property owner) provided everything within the house that renters would need for a getaway weekend (whether it be kitchen essentials, bedding, extra pillows, etc). John was more than accommodating with requests and I couldn't have asked for a better owner to work with. The open floor concept on the main level provided an area that big groups can congregate in without feeling like you were being constricted or separated. Plus the added touch of the gas fireplace was quite nice on the cold days. In the past years our group has been doing these large group getaways, this without a doubt was one of the most beautiful homes we've stayed in. I could not recommend this property more. If I could give this 6 stars, I would.

This is an amazing home on a beautiful lake. The home is beautifully furnished and the most well stocked home I have ever stayed in. Our group ranged from one month old to 80 years old and day 2 everyone mentioned staying at the property again. We had four generations gathering for moms 80th BDay! We love the whole area but we’re very content not leaving the home as we kayaked, fished and swam right there. The driveway is huge which the kids loved for riding their bikes. We have many foodies in the group and made some amazing food with room for everyone to sit. Would highly recommend this property!

The property and location were incredible. Gorgeous, custom-built home with a giant backyard on the lake. The house is in a great location. There is no shortage of things to do nearby. Would 100% recommend this place to any family/group searching for an enjoyable lake vacation. Special thanks to the owner for excellent communications throughout the entire process; before, during, and after our visit.

Beatiful home, no air-condition and poor communication

I stayed at the home with family over a long weekend. The home itself was clean, new and nicely furnished -- plenty of room for large groups. We were only notified by the owner that the air condition wasn't working a full day into our stay which unfortunately made indoors unpleasant at times. Would have been nice to be given advance notice of the lack of cooling, also very little instruction and communication about how to navigate the large home and its electronics. Would have been good for the owner to provide some amenities for lake such as canoe/kayak. Overall very nice home but poor communication and lack of cooling put a slight damper on the trip.
