This beach cottage is located in an exclusive gated community of Destin Pointe. This beautiful four bedroom home offers a tranquil setting and unsurpassed amenities. A private lakefront pool offers and additional locale for relaxation and entertainment, perfect for sipping your evening cocktails while overlooking the lake.
Multiple levels of viewing decks provide guests with direct lake views, while quick access to the sugar sands beaches of Destin's East pass provides access to the beach.
Our home has a large pool with optional heat for you and your guests to enjoy year-round. Additional fee of $250 per stay applies to heat pool, please request this additional service to be applied with the property manager or add the fee as you book. Whether you are looking for a summer getaway, a spring fling, or a winter retreat, this home is ideal for your holiday! Our home provides a completely equipped kitchen, an outdoor grill, all linens, and even beach toys for your family to enjoy.
For 2023 Season, from March through October, beach services of 1 umbrella and 2 chairs are included with your stay at the beach access along the gulf. Please tell attendant our house name and your name when getting to beach!

Property was gorgeous and had every possible amenity you could think of. Loads of beach and pool toys/floaties, even beach wagons for lugging toys and toddlers to the beach! Hosts were extremely quick to respond to any inquiries and were more than accommodating. Spent a week with my wife, our 2 year old daughter, my brother-in-law, his wife and their 2 young children. And the house was perfect size for all of us. Will definitely visit this property again!

This is an excellent property! We have stayed a multiple properties at Destin Pointe over the years, but this one by far has the largest private pool, which was excellent for getting the laps in without additional people in the way. With our group of six, there was plenty of space and we had one room to spare. The house itself has a great layout for large families. The house was very clean! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for cooking. WiFi was a little slow most of the time, which made it a little difficult to work away from the office, but most plan to be on vacation instead of connecting to the office anyway. Nichole was a great host and easy to communicate with. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your beautiful Sugar Sand Cottage!

We stayed over for a multi-generational reunion over Thanksgiving weekend.. Everyone (all ages) were impressed and pleased with the accommodations — especially the pool. 10/10 would stay again.

This house was everything we could have asked for. With 3 young kids the private heated pool was perfect and came so well equipped with pool toys for the kids. The house itself has a great layout for large families. The kitchen was so well stocked and had everything we could think of for cooking and was kid friendly. The beach towels/chairs/toys/wagon were a huge hit too. We cannot wait to come back again next year and enjoy more time at the Sugar Sand cottage :) Nichole was the perfect host- always quick to respond and answer any questions we had. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful and letting us use your cozy beach house to build more family memories!

Great family beach house
My family really enjoyed staying at this property. It was comfy, clean, and updated. The pool was perfect for days that we did not want to walk to the beach with a young child, and for hanging out in the evenings. House was well stocked with necessities. Nichole was easy to communicate with and prompt at answering questions.

First ever house rental
Alot of thought was put into the choice of this 'first ever' for me...our kids and grands have done similar trips in the past! We wanted private pool; easy, convenient beach access; enough beds and bathrooms for 6 adults and 4 kids...and shade for me > to escape to but still being able to enjoy the kids in the pool. This was perfect!!

From Houston to Destin
Great trip! Family vacation for 9: two parents plus 6 kids (one adult, three teens and two elementary age), plus one granny. Interesting feature of the house was that the living area was on the upper floor with bedrooms on the lower. Backyard pool can only be accessed thru master bedroom, otherwise you’d have to go out the front door and around to backyard. Note: Wi-fi didn’t have enough range or speed for our many users. We do have a bunch!
Decor was great! Location was great! Having a pool was great, especially if you have a wide range of kids. House was well stocked with bath and kitchen necessities. Beach towels available. Plenty of bedding. Beach chairs and all that, if needed.
We had a wonderful time. Very thankful for this cozy, relaxing house to stay in while at beautiful Destin!

Almost perfect
This beach house is in a great spot for vacationing on the beach. It is close to beach access although there is a bit of a walk. If you catch the shuttle it helps alot. The house is lovely with a spectacular view of pond with lots of bird activity. The house to me

Destin Girls Getaway
We had the most amazing stay at Sugar Sand Cottage. We rented bikes, rode them to beach and restaurants close by. The pool was wonderful too! The host is so kind and helpful with instructions for check in and check out. We will be back soon!

Perfect Beach House
Perfect vacation rental. Great pool, quiet neighborhood, easy access to shopping and food. The beach access is great and even offers a tram service to take you there and back. The home is well equipped and basically turn key vacation ready.

Amazing Vacation
My family absolutely loved this property! Our family spent everyday in the pool. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and very close to the beach. The house was very clean, and the owner was very easy to contact. Highly recommend this property!

GREAT TRIP
We brought 7 kids with us for their Spring Break, ranging in ages from 7-15. Nichole was a great host. She answered all of my questions, day or night. The check-in process was easy and we were even able to check in a little early. There was plenty of pots, pants, utensils, etc for cooking. Since we had a group of 11, we definitely utilized the kitchen a lot. I would definitely book this place again. We had a great time!

Destin Pointe Amazing
Great stay. Check in process easy and good communication with owners. 1 early issue with pool heater but fixed by next morning. Owners emailed back quickly and addressed the issue. House clean. Mattress in good shape. Nice sheets and towels. Having owners beach towels available with nice luxury to avoid packing from home. Good choice of pots and pans. Fridge clean. Bathrooms spotless. Had 5 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of space. Kids loved the heated pool and used it everynight. Kids also liked the community pools were big and convenient. Enjoyed gated community and piece of mind letting kids walk to pool without constant supervision. Beach convenient and clean. Here in February but felt like a private beach. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The owner was super easy to communicate with and everything was stocked well, clean and overall very nice. The pool stayed nice and warm and was bigger than we expected. The beach was a short walk from the house and the lake view was so nice. Definitely would stay here again if we get back to Destin!

Perfect place for our family vacation!!
Everything about this property exceeded our expectations. The booking process was super easy and when we had to change our days, Nichole was more than accommodating in making the change. The check in process was very clear and we were given all the information we needed prior to arrival. The house was perfect for our family of six. Everything was as described online. The heated pool was a huge hit!! The perfect size and nice and warm for the December days. It was a nice short walk to the beach which was beautiful. Communication was great. I received quick responses and Nichole was more than happy to share some fun places to eat and visit. We would definitely love to visit again!!

Bachelorette Weekend
We stayed at this property for a bachelorette party. There was 8 of us and the house was perfect. The location was great and an easy walk to the beach. The pool and hottub were a close walk as well which was nice. The host was super easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. All in all love this house and location!

House was perfect! Nicole was super easy to get in touch with and provided us with everything we needed! My kids had a wonderful time and enjoyed the heated pool. The beach was a five minute walk, and easy to get to. There was a beach wagon at the house that was super nice to have! A pack n play and kids dishes made for nice little extras also. The house was clean, bathrooms updated. Beds were very comfortable. The deck with outside eating area we really enjoyed also. Internet and cable worked well. We didn’t have any issues and would gladly stay here again!

Melissa was fantastic! She answered all my questions right away. The check in process was very easy and everything is exactly like the pictures. The property was in a perfect location for dinner/ drinks!

Great house - terrible check-in process
The house and pool are as pictured - with the exception of the floor of the pool needing a bit of attention. The internet is also as described - spotty at best (working 1 day out of 4). We had a great time at Carpe Diem however we barely made it in to the house. Our check-in code was never emailed and the only reason we were able to enter the house on our day of check-in was because there happened to be a realtor at the property taking a video of the property for a client. Repeated attempts were made and ignored to reach the property manager on the day of arrival. If we had not arrived at the time that realtor was there, we would have been locked out of the house until the following day. The property manager never did return my calls. She messaged me the following day thinking I was checking in on that day as if she never got any of my messages the actual day of check-in. It was a terribly stressful way to start a vacation and we even thought we had possibly been scammed by the VRBO listing. The house gets 5 stars- the management company gets 1 star - therefore I am rating our stay as 3 stars.

Carpe Diem Bachelorette Party
* we had a group of 11 females stay here for a bachelorette party- all over 30. The only issues we had at the house were that we found a blood stain on the pull out sofa linen- tried to wash it and it wouldn’t come out ended up buying linen to use-the pull out sofa was very uncomfortable and a dirty diaper was found in the king bedroom when we checked in. We’re not picky so we simply cleaned it up and moved on. I do not suggest sleeping 11 adults BUT I feel like that was on us- the house itself was perfect! The pool was perfect and the location. The neighborhood had a shuttle to take you to the beach . The host Melissa was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay at this property again but with less people. We enjoyed our stay! *

Great property, bad management
Check-in code I recieved on the Vrbo platform was incorrect. When I tried to message/call/do anything I could the day of to reach the host, I couldn't make any contact. Luckily there was a sign outside that had a "for emergencies only" number... after calling 4 times a poor lady in the middle of her workday picked up and answered, informing me that this was not the first time this had happened, and that her number was supposed to be taken down. She promised to call the owner though and inform her what was happening. I received a call from the owner a few minutes later who apologized and opened the door. But then even after that I tried calling back/texting to receive a working door code so we could lock our stuff inside. No answer... we just gave up and chose to leave the house unlocked all weekend. Otherwise, we enjoyed staying at the house.

Refreshing Vacation
We loved the house, with our favorite being the outdoor dining area. We had dinner together every evening. House had plenty of room for everyone, & plenty of hot water for showers. A very relaxing vacation for all of us. One downfall not enough eating utensils (forks) for a group of 8. I hope to be able to rent the same home again. Mayer Family

Wonderful stay at Carpe Diem
We had six adults and three young children stay at the property. The backyard pool was great, and there was easy access to the community pool and the beach. The property was clean, and the kitchen well stocked with everything needed for cooking. Cool and comfortable inside, and an outdoor gas grill for barbecues. View was excellent, and on Thursday you have a front row seat from the top porch for fireworks. Excellent stay, and we would definitely come back again.

Beautiful beach house
My family had a wonderful stay here. So much room and a good size swimming pool. The operation of the lights and ceiling fans in the bedrooms can be annoying…that was the only issue. Great communication with the property manager. We will definitely stay here again!

Family Friendly
The property was very clean on arrival. It has plenty of toys, chairs and umbrellas for the beach which was nice. The kitchen was fully stocked with pans and utensils along with several basic seasoning items. We had 4 children all 6 and under and this property was perfect for them. We did have to block off the stairs because the living area is upstairs and the little ones could fall, but that was simple. The beach is beautiful and you can walk to the gulf side or the inner carnal/jetty side depending on what you want to do. Overall we would definitely stay here or at this property again.
