Good time and peaceful on the lake. The house needs updates, like the dinky shower hand held wand, its really for campers not houses, we replaced light bulbs. There was no coffee ir hot chocolate, which you offered, the beds were ok, the tv only worked if you paid for ut???

The property was exactly as described and had all we needed! It was wonderful to be right on the lake and enjoy the beautiful views and sounds! Close enough to town and Mackinac that they were easy to get to, but far enough away to feel like we escaped for a few days! Thank you so much!

Our family of 5 recently stayed here and had a wonderful time! There were plenty of sleeping options, the kitchen was stocked and the bonus room in the garage was awesome! As other reviewers stated, the lake is shallow (we didn't mind one bit!),and if you're not accustomed to well water you may think it 'smells funny.' Again - it didn't bother us. The location is FANTASTIC for visiting St. Ignace, Mackinac Island and surrounding areas.

This house was perfect for me and my family of 4. My kids (6 and 4) had a blast in the game room when we weren’t exploring Mackinaw and playing in the lake. It had everything we needed for a fun lake vacation.

This place is a wonderful quiet location with many things to do. It is excellent for a family with kids as it has games nice kitchen and plenty of comfy places to sit. Beds are very comfortable. There are some upgrades that need to happen though. For a lake place it needs screens on the sliding doors so you can enjoy the fresh air and not have bugs come in. Bathroom showers need to be improved. The curtains need to be Real curtains instead of see through sheers for privacy. The red kayak leaks needs to be fixed or replace. With those upgrades it would be fantastic.

We loved the location, quiet, views, and helpfulness of the property manager. We found the place a little beat up and not super clean, with a need of a few upgrades but only a few minor things... A solid value and very relaxing...

My grandfather is from Manistique, we wanted to come up and walk the Mac as a bucket list item for my Mom. This was a great little spot to stay Before & After very relaxing, great location.

Staying in the mostly remote area on Brevort Lake was exactly what we needed to unwind from the hustle and bustle of life.
The lake is very nice and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat daily. The water is very shallow and safe for all ages. The view of the lake, the ducks, the sounds are all the highlight of renting this house! Staying a week here made us consider purchasing our own place on Brevort Lake.
The house is fine and met all our needs. The main areas are clearly cleaned but the whole house could use a deep clean from cobwebs, dirt and a fresh coat of paint to cover old stains. The bathrooms are the most outdated and while technically clean, it's hard to get past the perception. For us, the house was a place to sleep and eat between the many adventures we took in the UP. We had bonfires every night in the gorgeous yard.
Reviews are subjective so keep that in mind - for me, if I was looking for a place where I'd be spending most of my day in to relax and take in the scenery, I'd prefer somewhere more updated mainly because I don't get to go on vacation often.
All in all, the location is as ideal as it gets to explore eastern UP, the lakefront is perfect for adventures with smaller children and relaxing morning kayaks, and we just fell in love with the area!

This place was the perfect little spot for a family weekend getaway. We actually loved that the water was shallow, as it was fun for the kids. The view is gorgeous! The cottage had everything we needed to cook meals, have a small bonfire, etc. the owner was also very responsive to our questions and concerns. Would definitely come back!

Nice location on the lake and very close to the bridge and other activities. Be sure to visit sand dunes beach. House had everything we needed but could use some updating and cleaning of cobwebs.

Liked having the kayaks, paddle boat and fire pit. Quick helpful response from the owner to get the paddle boat out of the garage. Liked the fun red outside lawn chairs. Did NOT like the bright primary-colored interior sheer draperies! Being sheer there was no privacy for anyone sleeping on the futon or pull-out sofa. Kids especially will not do well with all the light they let through. The bright blue, yellow and red were uncomfortable and mis-matched for the nice, restful interior colors of the home. We would like to go back, but please change those draperies out to something more suitable-both color and light-blocking! We did feel the place was clean and appreciated that care.

The house was very nice with a beautiful yard and lake frontage. Our teens enjoyed the garage/den area and we had an ongoing ping pong tournament all week. It was very nice to have two living rooms, and it felt like everyone had a place to spread out. The downsides were the paddle boat, coffee pot, and shower in the main bathroom. The paddle boat was very difficult to use and we weren't even able to make it out of the shallows with it - and we have a paddle boat on vacation every year, so I don't think it was user error. This meant no fishing this year because the water was so shallow so far out, so that was a bummer. My mom really wished the coffee pot was regular size instead of small. The shower in the main bathroom wasn't actually a shower - it was a bathtub with a handheld sprayer. There was a mount on the wall for the sprayer, but if you used that, you would flood the bathroom. So unfortunately, you had to hold it with one hand and wash with another and turn it off when you needed both hands. It would be an easy fix to make this an actual, functional shower, and that would make a big impact. Overall though, it was a beautiful place and we would absolutely stay there again!

We loved the variety of things to do here. The lake activities, rec room (ping pong table especially), and general area were a hit! The lake water was so clear and it’s amazing how shallow it is so far from the shore. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a great week here. The water is nice and shallow and great for the kiddos to swim in. The provided kayaks were a big hit. The two air conditioners provided were enough to keep the place cool. Kitchen was nicely stocked, we cooked most of our meals. The coffee pot is a mini, but there is a keurig type machine as well. Appreciated the clean fridge (not full of other renters leftovers or a dozen half empty condiment bottles.) Mosquitoes were heavy during our stay, make sure to bring bug spray!
We had one small hiccup during our stay (bathtub was missed during cleaning prior to our arrival,) i reached out to the owner about it and received a quick response and the issue was resolved asap. My only recommendation would be to add some room darkening curtains, at least in the bedrooms. Nice cottage and plenty of room to spread out and relax with the fam.

We had a great stay! The house was immaculately clean. The host was very responsive to questions. I am glad I read reviews before coming so I was prepared. The house has well water which has a metallic and foul smell as well water does. We knew in advance and packed water to drink and cook with. There is a nice grocery store about 20 min away. This was such a peaceful place with a stunning view.

Maybe because it’s fall, this lake was so quiet! It’s a short way from town, 20 minutes, but the convenience store is only 5 minutes away and they carry a good selection of food and drink. Rained our first half of the trip so all the games provided were appreciated. Once it stopped raining we really enjoyed the kayaks and peddle boat. The water in the cabin does have a rather unpleasant smell but we got used to it. We used bottled water for drinking and cooking so not a big deal. The cottage itself is very functional. Not fancy but cozy. Although the reclining seats on the couch were a pleasant surprise! Stove and oven work great. Many choices for utensils, dishes and pots and pans. Coffee maker is only a 5 cup but there is also a Keurig type coffee maker that works well and has a k-cup filter so you can use your own coffee. Pantry does have the basics needed for making a meal. Beds were ok. We had a very good time here and took home some great memories!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was comfortable and very pleasant. There were lots of games on hand and the use of the kayaks and the paddle boat was a plus. Bring a few gallon jugs of drinking water especially if you are used to city water. There were several TVs in the house but we didn’t watch them. It was a very pleasant week.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. We stayed 4 nights with our two kids ages 9 and 7. The kids loved the lake and the den which had ping pong, cornhole and ladder ball for our use. The location was extremely quiet and the lake is beautiful and clean. The host was very friendly and responsive to our questions. St Ignace is a quick 20-25min drive away and you are near other beaches on Lake Michigan if you want to visit the big lake. There is also a zoo about 15 minutes away that our kids loved. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again!

This spot is perfect for couples, friends, families… the communication with the owners was refreshing, especially the way customer service has gotten. Everything we needed was up there when we got there. It was clean, spacious and very well organized! The view is wonderful, and being nicely secluded yet just a short drive to everything is just our style. Thank you for a wonderful trip! 😀😀😀

Great lake and location!
The property is in a great location. The swimming area is awesome for swimmers and non swimmers alike. The lawn area is large enough for lawn games and relaxation at the same time. The game room was a nice place to hang out and bond with family. We enjoyed the large jenga and ping pong. Overall very nice place.

Very quiet and peaceful
The property was very clean and the lake setting is beautiful. It is so quiet and peaceful there. It is almost a 30 min drive to anything, so keep that in mind. The owners left our daughters who graduated this year cute little gifts, ballon’s and a sign—a nice touch. Definitely bring in a couple gallons of drinking water, the local water has a very strong sulfur smell and iron taste. The shower leaves a bit to be desired, but everything else was fine. You really can’t beat the view and ambiance. If you want to get away for some peace and nature, this is the place.

Great Stay on Brevort Lake
Property is as advertised. Great cottage with a really good view over the lake. Weather didn't cooperate, but we had a great stay at the cottage and it worked as a perfect home base for day trips to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. Very quiet with everything needed to have a relaxing, fun filled weekend. We would go back in a heartbeat.
