Absolutely stunning!
Our stay at this oceanfront house was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views of the crystal-clear ocean right from the lenai. The house itself is beautifully designed—spacious, clean, and equipped with every amenity you could possibly need. The open-concept living area flows seamlessly to the outdoor space, creating several cozy places to watch the amazing sunsets, enjoy the gentle sea breezes, and listen to the sounds of the ocean waves.
The location is perfect for a tranquil getaway, yet still close enough to explore the local shops and restaurants. We used it as a home-base to explore the incredible beauty of the island. We were delighted to find historical sites nearby to visit, natural parks to explore and several beaches that were perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.
Brooke, the host, was incredibly accommodating and provided thoughtful touches throughout the property, making us feel right at home. If we had any questions, she was easy to contact and quick to respond. If you’re looking for a luxurious, serene escape with unparalleled ocean views, and a relaxing, homey feel, this is the place to be.
We’re already planning our next visit!
Highly recommend! 🌴🌊✨

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! The outdoor space is truly spectacular with a large lawn, lap pool, and access to the ocean. Our multigenerational family all enjoyed watching the three turtles that live in front of the house and my husband and I loved the amazing snorkeling (just keep going out until you see the underwater caves). It was a good base for visiting the great nearby beaches. The house is well stocked and we honestly enjoyed eating at the house versus venturing out for dinner (although we did that too). Our favorite beaches were Beach 69 and the Mana Lani Beach.

If you think the pictures of this property and beach are amazing; wait until you see it in person!! Absolutely stunning!! The amenities were the best we have ever had in a rental! From the kitchen supplies, bathroom amenities to everything g you need to go to the beach or snorkeling. We were sad to leave!! Brooke and Scott are the best hostesses. Very easy to contact and helped with all of our families needs!! 10 out of 10!!

I needed to find a place for my workers to stay while they were working on a project in Hawaii. Which is why I am so thankful I came across this property because it was absolutely perfect for our needs. Not only was it spacious enough for the entire crew to stay but it was minutes away from the job-site. It was also very clean and had tidy. The owners are also very nice. Keeping communication with them was never an issue. Lastly according to the guys the best part about the property was how close it was to the ocean. I think they took a swim every day after work. Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend this property if you're traveling with a larger group of people. You won't regret it.

Puako is a special place. Perfect home for a 3 generation family visit.

Puoko Beach was the perfect location for our family of 8 -- 5 adults and 3 kids. The house had ample room for indoor/outdoor living. We wpoke up with the sun, walked down to the water, and watching the tide come in. We saw people snorkeling and even scuba diving in these waters, but we chose to only wade in the tide pools because of rough waters. It was still amazing -- turtles came in the afternoon further down the beach. In the evening, we watched the sun from the lanai as it lit up the sky.
The kids enjoyed the pool, which was chilly in December as expected, but the adults took full advantage of the hot tub.
The rooms upstairs picked up nice breezes so that a/c wasn't missed. The house is built to harness those winds. As a big city resident, I enjoyed listening to the sounds of the ocean at bedtime rather than sirens and car alarms.
The garage featured a broad variety of beach gear - boogie boards, snorkel masks and breathing tubes, coolers, chairs, sand toys and a beach umbrella. These were perfect for Beach 67 located nearby. Even during the peak Christmas rush, the beach was never particularly crowded.
Being 30+ minutes from Kona is a feature of this house as it avoids some of the crushing crowds. However, we arranged two tours that launched immediately down the street.LightSUP paddleboarding at night was amazing and the Adventure X boat tour for snorkeling and whale watching was great. We were able to walk to both of them.
We can't wait to return!

We wanted a quite place on the beach to get married. It was just us, our minister, photographer, and personnel chef. Note: this is NOT a place for a larger wedding group or loud festivities.
Brooke was awesome in her assistance and even recommended some of the services that we used. She is very gracious and responded immediately to our inquiries.
This is a great location if you are going to split your time between the North Shore and Kailua. There is a food market within ten minutes and plenty of various dining venues at the neighboring resorts.
The kitchen is very well equipped. There are plenty of beach toys and towels. Amazing sunsets!

The view from the back deck is breathtaking! We had a beautiful week at the Puako beach house. We spent many nights having dinner/ordering in to eat on the deck. The house was great for our group of 7. Brooke was communicative throughout. Would highly recommend.

We couldn't of asked for more-this place met and went beyond all our expectations!
The owner Brooke was very responsive to any questions and was full of information of the surrounding area! We have been doing family vacations in different states for the last 10 years and this was the most well stocked house we have ever been in! From start up paper towels to a big supply of beach towels and everything you need for the beach. I can't even begin to have the words for the beautiful sunsets every evening!
We were a family of 6 adults and 1 child flying in from Louisiana and there was plenty of room to spread out. This was a 5 star vacation and we hope to do it again!

I loved this stay. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed. Perfect for anyone that likes a quiet spot, the classic indoor/outdoor Hawaii style living, and the life aquatic.
Place is as described. Host is easy to communicate with.
There's no beach, but the snorkeling was world class. Turtles everywhere. Really fun underwater formations where the shallow lava bottom drops off to a deep area about 300 yards out. Even saw a huge manta ray.

Never been to the Big Island before and we found this beautiful home to stay at and spend time with family. We had fun exploring the island but the best times were spent as a family enjoying the welcoming home and gorgeous views of the ocean!!

This property was perfect for our 5 night stay on this side of the island. It was conveniently located off the highway close to some of the area resorts that we were able to visit for supplies and for activities and so close to Hapuna beach!
If you are looking for a home with lots of space so you don't feel crowded and that provides everything you need to just show up and head to the beach, this is it! Host provides beach towels, beach bag, umbrella, beach chairs and snorkel gear galore, and the backyard even has extra water shoes for taking a stroll out to view the tide pool areas. There were also 4 bicycles available and we some of our family biked down to the Fairmont Orchid. Lots of cool little spots in this area that you have to "know about." Details are provided in the binder of the home when arriving. We saw others snorkeling right off the backyard of this neighborhood, but we couldn't quite get the hang of navigating all the lava rock unfortunately.
Host was super responsive and quick when contacted and very easy to talk to.
Sea Turtles basked on the rocks in this area and twice we saw spinner dolphins commuting across the ocean all with Maui in the distance. Very cool!
The home is older and does have a retro vibe to it which is kind of cool, but would be nice if host would consider updating some features such as bathrooms and kitchen in the near future. Everything was still functionable, but again, just a bit dated.
Overall really satisfied!

Our multigenerational group of eight had a magical Big Island stay at this house. The setting can’t be beat, and the layout of the house and it’s amenities take full advantage. Communication with the owners was excellent. Our only complaint is that we didn’t plan to stay longer.

We travelled here with immediate family (myself, husband, 3.5 year old, 7 month old), my parents, and my brother. This house was a gem and made our stay on Big Island wonderful! The house is big enough and had enough room for all of us to not feel crammed in. Lots of amenities and things to make the stay better. Hosts were responsive and kind. The location can’t be beat! No AC is not a problem, don’t let that hold you back. The breeze and open windows at night was perfect. Would stay here again!

Comfortable home. Very nice but not intimidating for parents and grandparents with young kids. The tide pools provided endless entertainment for 9, 7 & 4 year olds. Loved it!!! We will be back

Very detailed instructions and descriptions by owner. We were met at the house by the local manager for a tour which was helpful.
Beautiful view, lava and tide pools in front. Shrubs provide privacy from beach walkers. Snorkeling out beyond the breakers. Well equipped with several boogie boards, snorkels and water shoes, etc. one master bedroom/ bath, 2 other regular bedrooms and 2 tiny single bed rooms. We had 8 people for 3 days, 7 for the rest of our stay. The 8th person slept comfortably on the TV room sofa. Unfortunately we had the Refrigerator begin to fail after the the first 4-5 days. The owner was always immediately responsive by texting and we ended up getting the auxiliary refer which was locked in the garage moved into the house by her handyman the next day.
The owner covered the value of the food that was tossed and refunded us one night’s stay.
We used the 90 ft long lap pool, the water being about 73 degrees. Ocean about 80. parking inside gate is ok for 2 cars to maneuver in and out. The Puako area is quieter and less crowded than the Kona area. Many great places to eat and several great golf courses not too far. Hapuna beach is very close. All in all we were happy with our experience

Property was exactly as we expected from the VRBO description. The location was amazing, with snorkeling opportunities right in front of the house. Brooke was very responsive during our stay with our (limited) questions. We would definitely consider renting again and would highly recommend this property to anyone else.

The house is located on one of the best snorkeling reefs in the area. Even the tour boats drop guests off in front. There is a great little general store down the road. I highly recommend the macadamia chocolate chip cookies!!
Kitchen is fully stocked, lots of equipment for water fun. Nice lap pool and hot tub. Master bedroom is huge! Other two bedrooms attached to Jack and Jill bathroom very nice size as well. The only negative we had was the other two bedrooms with the twin beds. Definitely not made for adults. However, everyone had a great time. Would recommend to anyone visiting that area.

This property was outstanding! Room for all of us (7) was just the bonus. The ocean entrance was a little challenging but after you figure it out and with shoes, it was easier. The turtles and fish were evident daily, both from snorkeling and paddle board. Lounging was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Bike rides to the market(short ride) were enjoyed by all. Beach access with sandy beach wasn’t too far of a journey and had some rocks to jump off and enjoy some boogie boarding. Had a fabulous time!

This house is spectacular and the property and views can’t be beat. We enjoyed tide pooling every morning and snorkeling right in front of the house. So close to Hapuna Beach and many other great beaches. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

STUNNING! This home was an amazing place to spend some days. We all agreed it was literally a little magical piece of paradise on Earth. The “turtle sanctuary” outside your backyard rewarded us everyday with turtle sightings and morning dolphin performances by spinner dolphins. The home is beautifully designed and the owners provided ample good quality amenities (bikes, snorkel, beach gear etc). The labeling system in the house made for easy stress free access and clean up. Kristin and her sister were super helpful and very responsive. The snorkeling was world class, especially from the beach park down the street. The neighborhood was quaint and delightful. Kids loved the pool. We all loved the tropical landscaping. The views of Maui from our master bed deck were another bonus that we were surprisingly gifted when the clouds parted. This home was INCREDIBLE and we are so thankful for all the once in a lifetime memories! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

Like staying a friend's home
Quite possibly one of the best and most relaxing vacations ever. The panoramic view, the ocean breeze, and the private beach with some of the best snorkeling on the island. Loved the quiet neighborhood, it was so easy to feel like you live there. Accommodations were comfortable for my family of five (two teenagers and one adult child). We all fought for hammock time, the best place in the yard to relax. And having a private pool to cool off in was the perfect end to each day. Who needs to go out to dinner at an oceanside restaurant when you can have the best view on the island right on your back deck? I felt like we were staying at a friend’s home, the communication with Pam and owner Brooke was speedy and super friendly when I had questions. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and giving us a fabulous vacation memory.

Beautiful and relaxing getaway!
We loved our time in Puako! Brooke and Scott were gracious and helpful at every turn and their home provides a stunning oceanfront experience. The house itself is charming and well-appointed, and the views are simply amazing! We loved snorkeling right in front of the home, waking up to the waves and palm trees and basking in the glorious sunsets. We made wonderful memories and hope to come back soon!

Great place for families
We enjoyed our stay here so much we are already checking the calendar for next year. We were a group of two families, each with a toddler. The house was comfortable and we found everything we needed. The set up upstairs was perfect for two families as there are two “wings” which affords nice privacy. The kids loved eating at the big outdoor table and looking for whales, chasing a beach ball around the lawn, swinging in the hammock and playing in the tide pools. The adults enjoyed BBQing and sunset cocktails from the beachfront. There’s a nice beach for swimming within walking distance and we found great hikes within a 40 minute drive from the house - all very manageable with two kids under 2. Brooke was fantastic and very communicative, even arranging a pack n play and booster seat to be pulled out when we arrived. All in all, a great experience!

Wedding Trip
My wife and I were married at a nearby hotel and this house served as an amazing homebase for family. We loved the ocean breeze coming through the windows at night and the calm neighborhood provided a beautiful and safe place to share memories, and start our lives together. No complaints, will definitely return.

Puako Paradise
Our family of five adults had a wonderful time on this property in Puako. The house was just as advertised; clean, open and airy, and right on the water. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and equipment. The bathrooms had soap and shampoo. There were beach towels and lots of beach equipment to borrow. The location was the real star. Sitting on the lanai watching the turtles and manta rays was fantastic. Although there isn't an actual beach out front, there is beach access in four or five places along Puako Beach Drive. We saw lots of snorkelers and divers just off the rocks in front. Beach 69 is about a 5 min. drive north and was perfect for snorkeling and swimming--lots of shade too. The only caveat is no air conditioning. We knew this going in--no surprise. There were lots of fans in the bedrooms which helped, but take this into account if you are sensitive to heat and humidity. We would definitely return to this lovely property. Aloha!

Reviewer Comments:
Place was amazing. Sunset dinners on the deck. Snorkeling right out the backyard was comparable or better to any other place we visited. Turtles visited and fed daily off the rocks. Only complaint is that the furniture / bathrooms are a little tired, which does not show through in the pics. But I would definitely stay here again.

Great property in an amazing location...
This house is absolutely beautiful, and the location right on the ocean with the surf coursing over the lava just off the back lawn is incredible. The house is incredibly well stocked with everything you'll need from the kitchen to pool / beach toys to snorkeling equipment. My son and I walked 20 feet to snorkel behind the house, which is hard to reproduce many places in the world. We had a great but too short 4 nights here - we will be back...
