About this house rental

Glenview is an ideal escape for couples, but also for families or a group of 6 guests, wanting total seclusion and privacy. The house is a wilderness mountain retreat surrounded by breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains Escarpment and Nellie's Glen.

You will enjoy total seclusion, but you will be close to many of the adventures offered within the Blue Mountains Heritage listed area, such as horse riding, bush walking and all the tourist venues in the area.
The drive from Blackheath includes 2 kms of unsealed road. The house is accessible by most vehicles, though cars with low clearance should take care. Roads in Megalong may be subject to flooding, snow and ice during severe weather.
"Glenview" consists of 168 acres, with the land varying from open fields to thick bush and rugged terrain. There are un-fenced waterholes, creeks and steep, rocky ravines on the property. Children will need to be supervised at all times. Native birds, mammals, marsupials, arachnids, reptiles and insects are common.
Guests should wear appropriate clothing and footwear and be mindful of safety at all times. Whether open or closed, all gates should be left as they are found. Wildlife and livestock should be observed, but not approached or disturbed.

The House
The house is entered from the carpark, there are no stairs to enter. The living area consists of a lounge, dining and kitchen. The house has a master bedroom at one end of the house which includes a walk-in-robe and ensuite (shower only).
At the opposite end of the house there is a laundry and the second and third bedrooms ( one with a queen and clothes rack, the other with two king singles and a built-in-robe). All rooms have views and access to the deck which wraps around all sides of the house.
Being located in bush-fire-prone land, outdoor fires are strictly prohibited in summer months.
*Guests have private and exclusive access to the house and the six-acre paddock surrounding it, but are welcome to explore the rest of the property.
The house is completely isolated, with the nearest neighbour more than 300m away and only four occupied homes within a 1km radius.
A large fridge/freezer means you can stock up and avoid unnecessary trips to the shop during your stay.
Large sliding doors and/or windows in every room, allow for easy ventilation.
Hard floors throughout the house have NanoSilver (a non-toxic, naturally occuring antimicrobial agent effective against bacteria and viruses) built into the surface.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Glenview! The house is absolutely beautiful, well equipped & is surrounded by nature at its best. We loved spending family time by both the indoor fireplace & around the outdoor fire pit. Susan was lovely to deal with & nothing was a problem. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem!

Suzanne's house is an amazing getaway. It is located on a property that has no neighbours in site. The house is finished in a modern style, with creature comforts of air conditioning/heating, slow combustion fireplace, as well as a kitchen with dishwasher and coffee machine. I would highly recommend her house, we hope to stay again sometime soon.

Definitely should have stayed longer. House was in great condition, clean, spacious, great layout, can easily have plenty of privacy between 2 families if required, its almost 2 houses. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked (bring extra coffee, sugar longer stays), wonderful massive towels provided, beds comfortable and bedding provided plenty of warmth. Firewood a plenty for both indoors and out. The views were magic. Just sitting on the porch, I spent hours there admiring the bush and the cliffs. During our stay there was some crazy winds up top but luckily in the valley it was much better and what we missed out with the lookouts (due to the wind) we made up for it with the views from the house. It was very peaceful and that it was off the road and away from towns made it feel like a proper getaway. Though in saying that, take lots of food and drinks as its about 25-30min to nearest town. Id recommend stock up in Katoomba as Blackheath only has 2 smaller supermarkets. My only complaint, and its nothing to do with house and host, is the terrible state of Megalong Road. After the twists and turns of the rainforest, please slow down, especially at night as there are some terrible pot holes and rough patches. It really is a great place to stay, especially away from the crowds. You really dont need to leave, but if you dont mind driving its a great base to explore from, there is even a track that goes up near Katoomba (6 foot track). Thanks Susan.

We were looking for a serene and scenic place and we found it. Susan was a fantastic hostess. Great communication and the place was beautifully styled, very well appointed. Everything you need is there, super soft beds, great pillows. We had everything we needed to cook meals. Everything we needed to make the fire work, lots of good towels.

I write this with reservation as this place is a hidden gem and I selfishly want availability for when I want to book next. This is the second time we have stayed here. The owner Susan has done an amazing job upgrading the property to look stunning in everyway. Every angle you look from this property, you will see gorgeous views, dramatic escarpments, animals etc. Whilst last stay we enjoyed bushwalks right on our doorstep, this time, being winter we lounged about for a bit of R&R, enjoyed good food and wine whilst watching movies or reading a book. This is my fave getaway and so close to Sydney is ideal.
