First of all we had a great time and enjoyed the house and beach which was at a good walking location even for the little grands. The little play room was nice to have with little ones. The hot tub was nice being right outside the kitchen.
The one huge problem was the condition of the carpet. It desperately needs to be replaced- hopefully with wood. Not sure why anyone would install carpet in a beach rental. There was a huge disgusting stain on the little landing going upstairs that looked like it had been there forever which we had to step over every time we went up or down, and chunks of carpet missing. The whole thing was just dirty and gross although I’m sure it’s vacuumed. To make matters worse we were informed that WE had made the stain and were charged $75. Infuriating, being called liars knowing we all mentioned how bad it was after going upstairs. Shame on you, itrip!
A few things that needed some attention. First, the driveway is waaay too small for two cars. Like everyone there we had a big truck and an SUV. We had to get creative to fit. The main bdrm shower knob has cold and hot water opposite of what it says and takes so long for the temp to adjust it took forever to figure out what was wrong. There needs to be two hooks in the bathroom to hang dry the towels. The main bedroom large tv never worked after my husband, who is good at those things, spent 20 mins trying to fix it. There were some other minor issues but would stay again if it wasn’t for the carpet.

I love it! My wife was feeling stress and this place cheered her up. The jacuzzi was fabulous! The neighborhood is quiet, and friendly, good community!

The home was so cozy and perfect for our large family of 7. It was very close to the beach and had all of the supplies we needed. The space was clean and the neighborhood was very safe and cute. We really liked Lincoln city and how close we were to all of the other beach towns like Depoe bay and Newport. The only thing to note is that the third queen bed is in the room that separate from the house. It is a very nice space for another adult however the bed is not a queen size, it is a futon which can be very thin, so we brought a mattress topper to make sure it was comfortable enough to sleep on for our adult son.
We loved the hot tub and used it practically every night. The barbecue was great and they had board games in the house we played—all nice thoughtful touches that made our stay great.
All in all we had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

We reserved this house due to having dogs with us, wanting to cook meals together, and the close proximity to the beach. Note: beach access you have to walk multiple floors of stairs. Not handicap accessible.
Check in process was easy and upfront. We enjoyed how accommodating the property was for having animals, this is definitely a good rental for them or kiddos.
Bedrooms - very clean and tidy. Detached room that is listed with a queen bed is a futon bed and appears to be an old futon as well. That was pretty uncomfortable. If you think you are booking with two actual queen beds, only one is a legit mattress. Keep that in mind.
Kitchen- kitchen was clean and had plenty of utensils and cookware. The oven was broken and the entire thing was overheating. We deemed it unsafe to use and were not able to make the meals we had initially hoped to make.
Laundry- After running the washer, we switched to the dryer to find it was unplugged. Thinking this was a mistake, we plugged it back in but the dryer was broken. No notes or comments on this and when we messaged the host they responded hours later saying their team said it was broken until May 21st. Would have been nice to know ahead of time and been provided more towels.
Communication with this host wasn’t that great. It took hours to hear back and I’m not sure why. I asked for reimbursement since amenities listed didn’t work, no reply. I don’t think I would stay here again, but do think it was an overall 3.5/5 for a stay.

This is a great house with plenty of room and lots of amenities- walking distance to a park and the beach. We especially loved the outbuilding with tv and the hot tub. The company was very attentive to any questions and easy to work with.

This is a great house in a lovely neighborhood.
The weather was stormy when we were there so we appreciated the fireplace. We were able to do a lot of cooking since the kitchen was stocked with any pots, pans, utensils that we might need. The coffee pot is a smallish drip pot.
Very clean.
The deck gets very slippery when wet.
The beach is actually quite close. Just be prepared for a lot of stairs. There is also a small beach access parking lot very close.
We had a lovely stay, and would stay here again.

We booked the trip for three generations to have time together away from the distractions of life. While we enjoyed our time together, the house was not up to expected standards. With a check in time of 4 pm, I texted before 6pm that the two back bedrooms were not warming up. I was told that someone could be out the next morning to take a look at the issue! When I explained that the next morning was not an acceptable solution, I was then given instructions on how to possibly reset the heaters - when I explained that I don't travel with a screw driver when on vacation and didn't want responsibility for resetting a heater, the representative finally agreed to have someone come out. The issue was corrected that evening but it shouldn't be that hard. In addition, the home is lacking general maintenance - loose handrails around the back deck making it treacherous for our oldest generation; mold and dirt in the bathrooms, excessive dirt in the bedrooms (where you plug in electronics behind a nightstand) and holes in the carpet (entrance to and within in the master bedroom).

After some initial issues, which were promptly addressed by property manager, everything was wonderful. House is cute with a well stocked kitchen. Neighbors next door were super friendly. They live there year round. The neighborhood pool was a hit with the kids. The hot tub was also a hit. We would rent this property again.

The overall stay was excellent. We were frustrated why there is a DVD player hooked up to an amazing sound system, but no way to watch it? It seemed like there is no adapter from the DVD player to the newer TV for the picture. We brought a movie to watch, but couldn't. Had we known, we would have brought our own adapter. Also, we wanted to make a birthday cake for our daughter, but there wasn't any hand mixer. Two rolling pins, but no had mixer. Another thing is we felt we were robbed of 2 hours from previous stays here, because we couldn't check in until 5pm instead of 4pm and we had to check out at 10am instead of 11am.

We spent spring break through Easter at the Star Fish. This was our second stay at this property. It rained all of our visit so we spent more time at the house this time. It was clean and comfortable in a great location. A couple things have been fixed since our last stay. I will suggest again to please replace the light bulb to the room above the garage. It’s very hard to see at night coming back in the house with that light out. The front porch light was out this time as well. We enjoyed cooking and relaxing with our family all week. We also spent many days at the beach (Roads End is my favorite) Lots of agates and beautiful sunsets! The neighborhood of this property is very convenient and feels safe. You can hear the ocean with the windows open at night. Everything we needed was in the home and easy to find. We did completely fill the trash as there is no recycling. Not an issue but keep this in mind if you’re used to separating items. Something we noticed this visit was the TV is very small for the large living room. The couches and chairs are not really lounging compatible. You can’t see the TV well and watching a movie isn’t very easy for a family. A suggestion would be to update the couches and add a larger TV. The bedroom has a big TV and we actually watched movies with the kids in there. We didn’t mind but others many want a more comfortable living room option. Overall we love this property and would return next time we visit.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Starfish Cottage. It felt very cozy and comfortable, and had everything we needed! The hot tub was very nice to have to relax our legs after so much walking on the beach! Our dog came along with us and they were very thoughtful to leave out some dog bowls, dog towels to wipe wet paws, and a chew toy etc.
As far as anything I would change…
-I sleep with a fan, and there wasn’t a fan to use. It doesn’t list having a fan so at no fault of the Starfish Cottage, more of a warning that if you also have to sleep with a fan, to consider bringing one.
-Staying in the master bedroom, I had a hard time falling asleep because the streetlights were pretty bright beyond the blinds. I would suggest some dark curtains to help resolve that.
-And lastly the beds were pretty firm. I know this is something that some people prefer, so not necessarily a bad thing, but more to let you know.

We always love our trips to Lincoln City! This community at Olivia Beach is our favorite spot. We have stayed in a couple of homes here and this property, the Star Fish is now one of our favorites. The home was welcoming when we arrived. It was clean and a bottle of wine was waiting for us which was a nice touch. Our kids loved the space and it was very easy for our family of 5 to be comfortable here.
We did not have any issues during our stay but upon check out the management company did promptly check on us to make sure we had an enjoyable trip which was nice.
I would like to share a few details about the property that may be important to others.
The hot tub worked great and was very relaxing. It is right out on the back (what is actually used as front) porch. We still felt we had privacy even though it is in view of neighbors.
There is no entry from the front door. You have to enter the access code in the back then open the front if needed. We just used the back door as that’s where parking is. When we arrived I was confused and got a little lost so just a heads up.
The parking in the back can get crowded. This home actually has a decent parking area but some of the others next door don’t. Sometimes other peoples cars can get in this homes spots. We only had one vehicle so no problem for us. However if you have multiple cars parking could be an issue. This is true for all the homes in this area. Also keep in mind the size of your vehicle. We have a full size Chevy Silverado pick up. We could easily park sideways but there is no way we could fit another car in our designated spots. If you have compact cars then 2 could comfortably fit.
There is an outdoor room above the garage. It is listed in the description but I didn’t realize it’s separate from the house. You have to enter the house code to access it and it’s a really nice area. It can easily be another bedroom or movie/living area spot. If you have extra people joining you on your trip it gives some privacy which I think is nice.
The stairs to Olivia beach for this area were not in use. It looks like several of the staircases along the shore are damaged. There are other entrance spots but further walks. We drove and that’s completely fine.
Finally there was not a guest book. We definitely would have loved to see and use one. Maybe the manager could add that?

This home went above and beyond our expectations! Located in a picturesque neighborhood. Perfect, restful, atmosphere for my family to get a much needed vacation. Jacuzzi, fireplace, dog friendly and nearby beach access were definite highlights. Will certainly be staying here again, would reccomend this home to friends and family.

We had a wonderful visit to the “Starfish Cottage”. The home was very well appointed, clean, and a great space for our family. A nice little community with many fun amenities, walking path to the beach, and a great playground. We really enjoyed having a hot tub! Overall, this was a really great stay!! The host company was VERY responsive and easy to work with. A welcome bottle of wine was an especially nice touch after a long drive!

We took our adult kids and spouses. The only down side was there weren’t extra towels. So we had to use our bath towels for hot tub. It would be nice if a set of beach towels were provided for hot tub and beach use.

The hot water doesn't last long, the toilet paper holder kept falling off in the master bathroom & the bunk beds in the bedroom didn't look safe at all so those beds weren't about to be used. Other than that it is a great house and a great location.

It was ok for a last minute stay and less people.
The kitchen was nice ,barbecue good, hot tub good, linen good, there was dirt wear on furniture a little but it was ok. Only one celling fan down stairs, kids play room was a nice surprise for one two year old and a activity seat for 10 month old. Really nice pet things. Very nice park short walk away . The extra swaye only had a old futon so we slept a child on couch. Futon was not a comfortable sleeping option . We drove to beach as the access was to steep and far to pack a 10 month old and to hard for grandma to climb. Nice outside shower. The king was a very uncomfortable mattress. It caused some broken sleepless nights. It was a little expensive for less beds . That old futon and really uncomfortable old mattress. Parking is very tight. It’s on a steep grade so we parked on the street to unload. Not a fenced yard only part. Fence. Only parking for 2 smaller cars then parked behind those for expedition . The kitchen was really really nice .

Nice Stay!
We were very happy where we stayed. It was just big enough for all 6 of us. It was very clean. If I had to say anything to improve upon is the guest book needed to be updated. It said the stairs were out going down to the beach and they were open to use. Also, the actual pool was open, but the management still hadn't received the new keys to the pool yet. I called iTrip and they were very helpful and friendly to find out why we couldn't use the pool yet.

Cute and quiet beach house!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Our group consisted of 5 adults, 2 pre-teens and a 6 month old. There are just a few cons...The parking is behind the house via a narrow ally and very limited. My husband drove his truck(F150) and if it wasn't for his shorter truck bed, he would not have fit. So don't plan on bringing a big vehicle. The bedrooms in the house consisted of a king in the master, twin bunk and twin in another and a queen in the 3rd. The listing said there was a 4th queen in the room above the garage, but it's definitely not a queen bed. It's a very old futon (full size) and not comfortable. So I wouldn't consider that somewhere to sleep. Lastly, the beach access was conveniently close by, however, there was a lot of stairs. Going down was fine...going back up was hard and if you have little ones, plus beach toys, towels...it will be really difficult.
I would rate this house a 9/10 and definitely recommend to friends and family!
