About this cabin rental

A hidden gem set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, From the parking area a long garden path starts steeply and winds its way uphill for about 100m before reaching steps that lead to The Cabin, nestled behind horse chestnut trees and enjoying far reaching views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The 3 bedroom self catering accommodation is peacefully situated in a large, shared, wild garden, just a short stroll from the centre of Mortehoe with pubs, takeaways, village store and post office and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideally suited to walkers or families, it is a few minutes walk from the South West Coast path with many other lovely walks on the doorstep. A 5 min drive brings you to the popular village of Woolacombe with its award winning beach and surf and the other popular beaches of Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton just a short drive away. Rockham Bay is a short walk along the coast path or you can walk a bit further to Lee Bay and come back through the fields. If golf is your thing there is The Mortehoe and Woolacombe Golf Club 5 mins away with it's fun 9 hole course, Ilfracombe Golf Club with 'a view of the sea from every tee' and the highly ranked Saunton Golf Course nearby.
The Cabin is a comfortable holiday home with a large open plan living space with woodburner, xbox, netflix and well equipped kitchen/dining area. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 with superking pine bed, the second with zip and lock beds giving the option of a twin room or superking divan and the third a smaller room with bunk beds. French doors to the side open onto a decked area with large picnic table and barbeque. The family bathroom has bath and separate shower and the porch has ample room for coats, boots and bags. The secluded location gives a peaceful retreat after enjoying days on the beach, surfing the waves, walking the coastal path or exploring the beautiful North Devon coastline and countryside.
The accommodation is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility due to the long gravel path and steps. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times in the shared garden.
Please note the VRBO website states 9 minutes walk to beach. This is automatically estimated from the position on the map and not accurate. You can walk to the coast path in 9 mins but Woolacombe beach would be 25-30 mins walk. We are trying to get it changed with VRBO and hope for it to be accurately updated soon.
Kitchen with gas hob and electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

We had a lovely stay in the cabin. Perfectly located to get to lovely cliff walks and the sea and Paula is an amazing host always on hand to help with anything we needed. We would love to go back. The cabin is really well equipped and is deceptively spacious inside. The view from the deck of the cabin was lovely - straight over to the sea and whilst there are other houses around it felt private and set back from other gardens.

We had an amazing stay at the cabin. The communication up to our stay was excellent. The cabin is really well equipped with everything we needed. Walking distance to the local pub The Chichester Arms where we celebrated New Years Eve. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Really delightful cabin in extremely peaceful surroundings and in a lovely part of Devon. Although you feel away from it all, everything is at hand in Mortehoe and neighbouring Woolacombe. Exceptional walks and beaches, lovely cafes and pubs. The cabin is much more than a cabin. Really well equipped and spotlessly clean. Again with everything you need. Lovely hosts, lovely little touches. A real find!

This is a beautiful cabin, spacious, cosy and comfortable, in a phenomenal location. The views from the garden are fantastic. The walk to Bull Point Lighthouse was easy for my elderly parents-in-law to do but also with astonishing views and plenty to see for my 14 year old daughter to enjoy. Baggy Point offers dramatic views and it is another easy walk. It is only about 20 minutes drive away from the cabin. So many beautiful nearby places to visit from Mortehoe! Thank you so much, Paula, for the bottle of prossecco you left for us to celebrate my in-law's Golden Wedding anniversary! Thank you very much for the delicious biscuits and the milk, too. We really appreciated and were grateful for the offer to arrive earlier and leave late, too. That was most kind. Thank you so much for everything. We go home with priceless memories. Hopefully, we will be back to the cabin in the near future.

Lovely cabin in Mortehoe! The cabin has everything you’d need for your stay, really well equipped and Paula even checked with us before our stay to see how we wanted the beds/rooms configured which was great. It was my partners birthday and we arrived to a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. Nice addition of Netflix and an Xbox for those rainy days should you get them. Really close to local pubs and fish and chips for food and the walk to Woolacombe is doable too at around 25mins though uphill on the way back. We’ll definitely be back. We had a lovely stay.

Had a wonderful three night stay in this surprisingly spacious little cabin. My sister and I had a double bedroom each. There is a good sized kitchen with dining table, and living area with comfy sofa and chairs, and a lovely bathroom with a big shower and bath. The weather wasn't brilliant, but it felt so cosy. We could have lit the log burner but we didn't need to. I'd be happy staying here any time of the year. Great to have Netflix and Prime on TV. The view from the back of the cabin is wonderful, with views of the sea (you can even make out Wales on the good day). Paula is a great host, and although we didn't meet, it was really easy to send messages back and forth. I would definitely recommend a stay here, and hope to back again soon.
