An excellent 10 days spent in Hunawhir. Property charming, immaculately clean and all equipment as described. The outside is just some chairs in a yard which we didn't use because it was nice to sit in the lounge room with the windows overlooking the village. Hunawhir was much quieter than all the neighbouring tourist traps, but only a short distance. Nice walks with the dog through the vineyards and forest above the village. Small shop has essential needs and lots of wine to taste locally!

Very conveniently situated. Easy walk to the main next village, and the splendid local restaurant is 100 meters away at most. The host gave an excellent handover.

This apartment is wonderful — spacious, comfortable, very well-equpped, and filled with charm. The traditional furnishings are beautiful as well as functional. The kitchen is extremely functional, with everything needed to cook full meals. The (shared) washer-dryer was very handy. My favorite part was the huge old tub, in which I enjoyed a nightly soak. The location is also excellent. Hunawihr is a lovely village, in the midst of the vineyards of Alsace. There are many other places worth visiting close by, including Colmar, Riquewihn and Kayserberg (to name a few). The booking and arrival/departure processes were easy. In sum: this is a great place to stay.

Die Wohnung ist genau so schön, wie auf den Bildern dargestellt. Wir (2 Personen mit 2 gut erzogenen kleinen Hunden) haben eine Woche hier verbracht und uns wie zu zuhause gefühlt. Das lag an unserem charmanten Vermieter, Bertrand, der immer für Fragen bereit stand und uns mit frischen Blumen, einem Gugelhupf und einer Flasche Cremant begrüßte und natürlich an der wunderschönen Wohnung, in der nichts fehlte. Im Ort findet man alles was man braucht und es ist angenehm ruhig. Wenn man etwas mehr Trubel haben möchte, dann kann man in 30 Minuten Fußweg durch die Weinfelder drei schöne Orte besuchen. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

Auf den ersten Blick Behaglichkeit

Bereits beim Eintreten in die Wohnung, in der wir vom Vermieter Monsieur Fuchs sehr nett empfangen wurden, spürte man die gemütliche Athmosphäre der Wohnung. Diese ist überaus passend renoviert und sehr gut ausgestattet. Sie liegt am Rand des kleinen Weilers Hunawihr zwischen den beiden bekannteren Orten Ribeauvillé und Riquewihr. Da wir mit unserem Hund dort Urlaub machten, war es günstig, dass in unmittelbarer Nähe der Zugang zu den Spazierwegen in den Weinfeldern war. Praktisch war auch der nur ein paar Schritte entfernt gelegene kleine Lebensmittelladen, in dem man sich morgens mit Baguettes, Croissants etc versorgen kann. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wunderschöne, gemütliche Ferienwohnung, stilvoll und mit Liebe eingerichtet bis ins Detail. Sehr angenehme und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wurden mit Champagner und selbst gebackenem Gugelhupf empfangen. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Vielen Dank.

Empfang von Herrn Fuchs sehr freundlich. Gugelhopf und Cremant als Willkomensgeste fanden wir sehr aufmerksam. Wohnung sehr sauber und "heimelig" alles sehr schön aufeinander abgestimmt und dekoriert. Frische Blumensträusse. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in der Wohnung. In Hunawihr ist der Touristenrummel nicht so extrem wie in Riquewihr oder Ribouville. Die übrigens beide in 1/2 Stunde zu Fuss erreichbar sind. Einziger Vermuthtstropfen, waren die Temperaturen die zum Teil 35 Grad erreichten. Würde nächstes mal eher im Frühling oder Herbst ins Elsass fahren. Urs Schmutz

Charming apartment and host with great attention to detail.

Bertrand was a wonderful host. Clear and timely interaction. He welcomed us to the flat warmly with cake and sparkling wine. The place was very clean with wonderfully crisp sheets and a comfortable king size bed. Little added touches (like fresh flowers and votive candles) gave the apartment a wonderfully cozy and warm feeling; and that wonderful bathtub has spoiled me! We would gladly stay again. I cannot say enough good about our time in Bertrand's lovely apartment. We stayed just before Christmas. The apartment was well appointed, warm and cozy. Bertarnd greeted us with a regional cake and sparkling wine. He was very friendly and informative. The apartment was spotless and the bathroom had the largest tub I have ever soaked in. The kitchen had everything you could need for meal preparation. The bed was very comfortable. The location was wonderful. It is tucked in a "most beautiful village of France" where in good weather you could walk to two other villages (20min). I would highly recommend either of Bertrand's apartments. I hope to come back myself. Thank you Bertrand

A wonderful stay in Hunawihr

We spent the most delightful week in Hunawihr. The apartment was a true gem - spacious, spotlessly clean, very well appointed and excellently equipped. The apartment is in a quiet street in this peaceful village and there are three restaurants within walking distance. A big plus for us is that parking was never a problem and it was always possible to park right outside the apartment. I cannot recommend this rental highly enough. Bertrand and Penelope were excellent hosts - very friendly and extremely helpful but never intrusive. We definitely intend to return another time. A big thank you to our hosts.

Everything is in the title.... CHARMING

When we arrived Bertrand welcomed us warmly, and once in the apartment we realized the photos weren't lying. It is as nice and warm as it looks. Small attentions like the traditional cake on the table, the bottle of wine in the fridge, the little Christmas tree betray the refinement of the owners Bertrand and Penelope. The house itself has everything. It is very bright as the sun enters the rooms by every window. I don't know what to say. We spent 6 days in happiness in Hunawihr and the surroundings, and this lovely house played a part in this. Should I return, that's the place I would book. No doubt about that.

Historic One-Bedroom Apartment in Well-Located Alsatian Village

This was the best of the VRBO properties that we stayed in during our monthly European trip. First of all, the Alsatian location (between Riquewihr and Ribeauville) was central to Colmar, Strasbourg and the Route du Vin. We walked to three tasting rooms/wineries in Hunawihr and visited others nearby by car. Second, the apartment was a completely restored, upstairs unit in a building that dated back to the 1600's. It had a large kitchen and bathroom that both fit in well with the historic ambiance, a good-sized bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a spacious living room-dining room overlooking neighborhood gardens. The decorating was really superb. Finally, the owners, Bertrand and Penelope, were great people who took the time to explain everything about the unit, to tell us about local merchants (e.g. a fromagerie in Colmar), and to share a little wine and homemade cake made by Bertrand's mother. We recommend this apartment very highly.
