2021 Beautiful new home in the heart of the Finger Lakes. This fully furnished Cape Cod Cottage sleeps up to 6 adults with a hallway futon available for an additional 2 people. Enjoy a quiet vacation relaxing in a clean country environment with the stars brightening the night skies. The cottage sits on a small lot surrounded by trees on 3 sides on a narrow country road.
Enter in to enjoy a spacious living room with a gas fireplace to bring tranquility to your evening reading of your favorite book. Adjoining the living room is a bedroom and kitchen with a glass patio door opening out to a large deck overlooking a beautiful backyard where cookouts and yard games make for a great evening of connection with family and friends. The deck holds a luxury grill and fire table! The basement is full of entertainment for children and adults! From a cozy living/ fireplace area, to a pool table, and children's play area stocked with trikes, scooters, games, ect.. you're sure to While Away your time! Free Wifi available! There is no TV. 3 kayaks available on site with lifejackets! Yard games include Spike Ball, Corn Hole, Kan Jam, Ladder Golf, and Bocce Ball!
Local attractions are plentiful with Keuka Lake/Park and Garrett Chapel close by, Penn Yan 10 minutes away, Canandaigua 30 minutes, numerous wineries and Wine Trails, Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, Edgewood Country Store nearby selling handstitched Mennonite and Amish quilts, and a small Mennonite book/binocular store directly across the street. House was clean and well appointed. (kitchen) Kids had fun playing games and reading books. We had heavy rain one day and the basement flooded but owners came quickly and resolved the problem. All in all, fun place to stay!

We had a great time at this property. The house was super clean and had everything you would need for a great stay. The owners even left us a little welcome basket complete with waffle mix and maple syrup...a very nice touch. So close to the lake, which we were looking for. A huge property, which the pictures don't do it justice. I wish I brought a badminton net! However, the owners have lots of outdoor games. My only suggestion (and this is a reach as everything was great) is that the fire pit (which we loved) is a little far away from the house and there were no chairs available, so we had to carry the deck chairs down to the pit, which is a bit of a walk as the property is so big. Would recommend some outdoor chairs, which were viewable in the pictures of the house so we didn't bring any. Other than that small thing we loved everything about this place. They had everything you would need, even extra tooth paste! Amazing time. Thank you to the property owners for making our stay so nice!

New, clean, and well-stocked. Nice play space for young children in the basement. Located on a quiet country road in a lovely rural area. Hosts were very responsive to any concerns. We had a delightful stay.

The house is super clean and very well stocked. We cooked dinner (on the grill) and breakfast at the house and it was really nice - great kitchen. Overall really enjoyed our stay.

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend and had such a great time. It was close to several breweries with great views. The fire pit out back was used every single night, with the wood they provided. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay was amazing and exactly what we needed after a hectic year. Peaceful, beautiful clean cottage. Everything was as advertised. The cottage was so clean and had every amenity that we needed. It was the perfect get away for us and only a 3 1/2 drive from
Ontario Canada.
Town was only a 12 minute drive.

This home was absolutely beautiful. Very clean, well appointed, quiet location, just an amazing delightful getaway. My grand babies loved the playroom in the basement, especially the scooters and the air hockey table. The host was super nice and responded quickly to questions about the home. There was a lovely welcome basket upon arrival filled with homemade bread, local honey, pancake mix, local syrup, and coffee. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your lovely home. We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to stay here again on our next trip to New York.

The While Away cottage was as advertised. It was exceptionally clean and well appointed and we had a great getaway with our friends.

We had a wonderful relaxing time in this beautiful home. We enjoyed the fire pit and backyard. The home was clean and inviting. Plenty to do around Lake Seneca.

The house was fabulous. It having 2 bedrooms with Queen beds was convenient when traveling with other couples. 3 bedrrom with 3 good sized beds is rare when I was looking for a rental property. The house was very clean and well appointed. We thought the waffle and maple syrup gift basket was very sweet, no pun intended. The propane fire pit on the deck is a perfect place to relax in the evening.
My wife and I are already discussing next years trip. Thank you for hospitality.

My 2 girlfriends and I spent a long weekend. This house was perfect for our stay. Plenty of space and well appointed. The back yard is beautiful. Quiet location, with just the occasional sound of a passing car or buggy. We had a great time!!

This property was perfect for our long weekend at the Finger Lakes. It was close to both Keuka and Seneca Lakes and many restaurants, attractions, and wineries. The property was private with large backyard and nice large deck for entertaining. Description of house was very accurate and owner was very responsive.
Neighbor across the street (owner’s parents) were very hospitable, inviting us to their nighttime sky viewing party.
Overall, great all around experience in the Finger Lakes. I would highly recommend this house!

This was a diamond in the rough. Our only problem was that we didn’t stay long enough. The home is clean, big and caters to all ages from infant to senior citizens. We loved meeting the owners father, Ivan. What a charming man. The location was close to some of the finger lakes and shopping. We were welcomed with a basket of fresh bread made by the owners mom, Anna and local coffee with honey and syrup. The home is totally furnished with all kitchen appliances and a back porch with a quiet great view. Beautiful to see the Mennonites in their horse and carriages passing by. Lots of toys for kids, games, puzzles and a pool table. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for one of our best VRBO stays!

My friends and I stayed here for a girls weekend and I can’t say enough good things about the house! It was even better in person, very spacious and the rooms were a good size! The deck was amazing, perfect huge backyard! 5 min to a wonderful brewery and beautiful winery! The house was well stocked with everything you needed just about! Very well prepared for their guests! And the beds were so comfy! We’ll be back!

It was clean, well stocked and the hosts were wonderful. They were welcoming and responsive.
My grand children especially liked the basement full of toys and games. It certainly helped to occupy them on those rainy days when we couldn’t get to the beach to swim.

We stayed at Lucille's place last year when in town for a family wedding and were so happy to stay again this year. The house and property were perfect and it is the best stocked VRBO we've stayed in. If we have another event in Penn Yan, we hope While Away Cottage will be available again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property. We were in town for the weekend for my sister's wedding at Crispin Hill. The location was perfect and within minutes of everywhere we had to be. The house was clean, stocked with everything we needed and then some. The basement was absolutely perfect for our two young kids who needed to keep busy between events! If we're ever in the area again I would not ever hesitate to stay here again. It was one of the greatest places we've stayed, and we've stayed at many!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this updated, clean, comfortable home. The deck space was wonderful, seeing we had a great weekend to be outside. The only issue we had was with the smoke detectors going off and not turning off. They seem to be extremely sensitive anytime we were cooking anything in the kitchen. We were not burning anything at all but they kept going off. Other than that, we would absolutely stay at this property again!!

The house is set in a country location and was like it was brand new. It was extremely clean and well stocked. Excellent location to explore the finger lakes. The house would work well for a large family or a few friends. We would definitely go back there.

The house is very cozy!! The huge deck behind the house overlooking the back yard and woods is a beautiful spot to relax!! The kitchen has everything you need! The pool table and games were a hit with our family!

The house was clean and beautiful and the neighborhood was serene. We enjoyed our morning walks along the corn fields. We had a great chat with Ivan and an amazing star gazing experience. If you are in the region, look not further for your stay. We would stay here again.
