Great little cottage! We used this as our base to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. Only 15 minutes away and no traffic. We also enjoyed canoeing on Long Pond. My kids (14 and 10) loved having their own space upstairs and seeing the deer in the backyard.

Property was well maintained. Location was great for hiking.

We had a wonderful time in Acadia coming back to this comfy cottage after our adventures! We ended up coming a day earlier than planned and luckily house was available and the owner was quick to respond and help us check in early. Plenty of room for our family if 4! Perfect cottage in a perfect setting!

Upon arrival the property was clean and as advertised. Property is in a quiet area and a great location to get around on the island. Would stay here again!

The location of this cottage is really quite wonderful. It is conveniently and centrally located on MDI with little to no traffic on the road that it sets. This is a quiet retreat and the surrounding trees clearly distinguish this property that also has a yard. We happened to use it for some frisbee on one of the only nights that it did not rain during our stay. The owners and their manager were great and quick to respond to our inquiries ahead of and at the beginning of our stay. The accommodations were comfortable and again this location is wonderful for accessing Southwest and Northeast Harbors in a very respectable amount of time. While my husband and I do not have any children and only used the first floor during our stay, the second floor sleeps four additional people and is quite ideal for children. Closing, I appreciated the location, outside living space, and simplicity that this quiet family cottage had to offer enough. We certainly hope to return for future trips to MDI.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was easy to access different points in Acadia National Park and other spots on Mt. Desert Island. There was plenty of room for four adults, and we enjoyed a fire pit one night when it wasn't raining.

This home was very cozy and had lots of character. The home is very nice with lots of natural light coming in which isn’t obvious in the pictures. The yard was great for my 5 year old to run around. The bathroom had a nice shower with good pressure and plenty of hot water.
We loved the stove it got really hot quickly making cooking easy. The home owners have basics on had which makes it convenient. We were 12 mins from SouthWest Harbor and only 19 mins from Bar Harbor so this was perfect for exploring the whole island and coming back to a quiet place to rest and recharge.

Could not have asked for a more relaxing rental. Great central location to the town and Acadia Kitchen was fully equipped. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of extra blankets Grandson loved running around the spacious yard. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay Would absolutely come back here. Landlord was quick to respond to our questions. He went above and beyond Thank you

Cozy cottage with many updates. Owner was very accommodating. Enjoyed the backyard fire pit on a cool April night. Close proximity to the park.

This is a wonderful quiet cottage that has a welcoming home feel! David has really thought of all the things that will make your stay comfortable and stress free. We loved the country feel, with out giving up accessibility! Additionally the deer that come each day are a fun bonus!

We loved the beautiful cottage where we could cook and relax.

The house was a wonderful place to stay! Centrally located for getting to the 1/2 marathon start and nearby to trails for hiking and biking! The fall foliage was amazing!
The house was clean and cozy. It was nice that all three of us could sleep upstairs very comfortably. There were two beautiful bucks and some turkeys in the yard, and we heard some coyotes far in the distance while enjoying a fire out back.
A terrific place to stay , with good communication from our hosts!

This cabin was great for two couples, super clean and comfortable, loved the backyard fire pit and easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor.
We highly recommend the cabin! The only note to keep in mind is that the bathroom has two doors, one of which is a shared door with one of the bedrooms so it's good to have a level of comfort with the people you're sharing the cabin with.

This was our first trip to Acadia and the accommodations were both cozy and comfortable. We had deer visit the property several evenings and mornings and had four turkeys walk around the house while we were on the back porch. The house was built in the 1890's which made it all the more enjoyable, we would definitely return and recommend !!

The location of this place was a dream. It was remote enough to feel a bit alone with nature but close enough to our destination (Acadia) for convenience. We had many visits from deer and appreciated the guidebook.

This was such a nice little place to stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. It had all the modern comforts while maintaining the old-world rustic charm of Maine. The property is beautiful and we saw many deer and birds. The stars are amazing at night. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

We absolutely loved this little house. It was so inviting and very nicely decorated. You can see the owners takes good care of the property. It had everything we needed and the location was perfect. I really liked the book with reccomendations for things to do and places to eat. I think we tried every Lobster place in the book! We only wish our stay was longer so much to do not enough time. We will definitely be back.

Better than our expectations with walk to wonderful swimming pond and deer in the backyard

This was a perfect place to stay for our family of four. Enough space, cute and cozy, very private, amazing location near the national park canoe & kayak rental and near Southwest Harbor restaurants. Also easy to get to the east side of the island from here. Definitely recommended.

We were initially hoping to be closer to Bar Harbor, but upon arriving and seeing the hordes of people both in town and at Acadia, we were so grateful for our location to step away and breathe! We went to a local lake to swim just down the road that felt like a private retreat and later to Sand Beach which reminded us how pleasant the first lake was. I wish we could have stayed longer! It’s a great property, modern amenities but maintains the “camp” feel. Thank you for sharing your property!

Great experience. Perfect cabin for our Maine getaway.

We rented the cottage for 3 nights in July. It made our stay in Acadia NP so enjoyable. The upstairs' beds were a perfect place for my kids to hang out. We sipped coffee on the back porch every morning. It was a 15 min drive into Bat Harbor from the cottage. I really appreciated the owners’ binder of recommended hikes and places to eat. It was informative and helped us make decisions. We would definitely stay again!

Week in Acadia
We had an outstanding week on Mt Desert Island. This property was clean and comfortable. We made our way through as many of David’s recommended hikes and restaurants as possible. The location makes for just a short drive to all of the Acadia attractions, Bar Harbor and South Harbor. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit Maine.

Great stay
We had a great time at this place. Everywhere we wanted to go on MDI was no more than a 20 min beautiful drive. There is a ton of outside space which was perfect for relaxing, playing games, or making a fire in the fire pit. The property is well stocked full of games and books and was very charming.

The description and other reviews are accurate. This home is rustic, and charming, but has been updated in ways that make for a comfortable stay (especially new exterior doors, windows, appliances, furniture, and bathroom with washer and dryer). The cottage was very clean, with lots of extra towels, blankets and pillows available. There’s one bedroom with a queen bed on the main floor, and two additional sleeping areas up a steep flight of steps (one area with a queen and one with two twins). We were able to watch deer munch on clover nearly every evening through the sliding glass doors in the living room.
We thought the location was excellent. It is away from the busyness of Bar Harbor, but still a short drive to every part of the island. David was a good communicator and host, but there’s also a local caretaker available to help out if needed.

Historical Tranquilty in a Cozy and Quiet Retreat
This original house was built in 1894, and has been lovingly well decorated and designed in antiques and cozy cottage decor. We felt transported into the early 1900's in terms of simplicity and character of an older property's eclectic charm, so don't think perfection in construction-the downstairs bedroom floor is uneven and the stairs to the loft are steep, hence charm. The kitchen was clean and functional to make a great dinner for 4, complete with a new Italian oven. No dishwasher but no biggie. Highlights were wildlife on the property-a porcupine and deer in the yard, among peace and quiet except for beautiful Maine birds singing in the morning. Close enough to Acadia (20 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor) but nice to drive the quiet side for tide-pooling and fewer tourists. David, the owner, was quick in response to an oven issue which was resolved quickly and was a real gem of a guy to chat with too. This place would be great for couples to cozy down and slow down. The upstairs loft was cute for my kids, 9 and 13, there were books and games and low key non-tech. fun. We roasted marshmallows and ate dinner on the porch. Not a bells and whistles property, just simple and quiet.Clean sheets, clean towels, washer dryer in the bathroom as a convenience. Mapquest not accurate in directions when you get the address, but common sense will get you there.

This was an amazing place to stay for our 4 day trip to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor (each only 15 min away) and may be one of my favorite vacation rentals in all our travels. We all loved the ambiance of this 130 year old cottage and appreciated that it has been updated where it matters (HVAC, bathroom and kitchen appliances). The house is cozy, but comfortably slept my family of 5. The decor was amazing and we appreciated the excellent collection of books, games and other comforts. I will note that there isn't a dishwasher, but I think that adds to the experience and watching my kids hand-wash dishes every day was one of the highlights of my trip.

After having been in many little, run-down, janky Maine “camps”, this gem of a home was a delightful surprise. Peaceful, well-appointed, with the appearance of being freshly renovated and decorated. Comfortable furnishings (sofas & beds), very quiet at night, well-appointed with new, thoughtful kitchen implements (just needed a steamer basket for our lobster feast!). Easy access to many places on the island. Great host communication too! Backyard is a green oasis this Spring, with lush trees all around.
The only(!) exception to my praise would be the construction that went on most of the daylight hours. There’s a home going up just beyond the backyard property line and those boys are either swearing up a storm or using power tools! We were off hiking and enjoying the splendor of Acadia most days, so it really didn’t interfere. In fact, it added a few laughs to our trip!!
This little beauty of a property enhanced our brief stay on MDI and we were grateful.

Peaceful and Conveniently Located
Love the properties online presence and the in-person delivered! Amazing little house situated in peace and quiet. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing time away from home but had the comforts of home. Our only concern was how far it "seemed" to be from everything but it was PERFECT. We could get anywhere we wanted to go in no time at all; Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Wonderland, or back into Ellsworth for a LL Bean stop. We really hope to make this our home away from home for years to come. Thank you!
