About this house rental
“Pu'u O Hoku” is true to its Hawaiian name — which means “Hill of Stars”— surrounded by more than 14,000 acres of protected land, immersed in the transcendent beauty of forest, sky, and ocean. The Ranch is a family-owned biodynamic and organic ranch and farm, rustic retreat center, and sublime getaway on the remote and tranquil east end of Molokai, Hawaii.
For nearly 35 years we have worked to conserve Molokai’s natural resources, with ecological farming practices and by protecting wild spaces. We are proud to be part of Molokai’s sustainable community, supporting Hawaiian culture and the reintroduction of its native plants and animals.
The lodge was built in the distinctive style of noted architect C.W. Dickey in 1935 and is an example of the golden age of Hawaiian architecture. It features a majestic room (about 1,350 sq ft) furnished with Balinese and Hawaiian wood and textiles, rough-cut wood beams, a lava-rock fireplace, a library, and sitting areas. Attached to the lodge are a certified commercial kitchen and a shaded lanai (about 800 sq ft). In front of the main building, a large yoga deck overlooks a lawn that sweeps down, offering ocean views. A pool nestles behind the building. The surrounding landscape was redesigned by Leland Miyano in 2013 using native plants. Lodge guests have exclusive access to the 12-bedroom home and outdoor pool.
The lodge can accommodate up to 30 guests and hosts retreats, seminars, workshops, family reunions, and small intimate weddings. The lodge experience includes a private chef for seasonal farm-to-table island-inspired meals (an additional $195.00 per person/day).
The lodge's main wing (bedrooms 1-5) is available as an alternative offering for smaller groups (accommodating up to 14 guests). The Sunrise Cottage is also available for guests looking to host more than 30 pp. Please inquire for details.

We had a dreamy stay at Pu'u O Hoku Ranch! We really enjoyed slowing down and enjoying each other's company in a beautiful setting. Coming from the hustle and bustle of Oahu, it was exactly what we were looking for. We spent countless hours hanging out by the lodge pool and soaking up the old Hawai'i vibe. The convenience of farm-to-table meals prepared by the ranch team was ideal. The local venison, beef, and veggies were delicious. Our kids loved having breakfast together then heading out to their bee tour, farm tour, hike, or horseback ride. They learned so much about the place and their environmental efforts. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. It was impressive to see everything they are working on. Moloka'i is such a unique and sacred place, we will be back. Mahalo Pu'u O Hoku!
