About this house rental
This home originally opened as the Staggs Hotel in 1945 to house the workers who built the local dams. Now, completely renovated, this cottage puts you in the middle of all that the Norfork area has to offer. This 7 bedroom, 5 bath home sleeps 20 and is within easy walking distance to local restaurants, a grocery store, and the public access at the confluence of the White and North Fork Rivers. World Class trout fishing and other outdoor activities are within easy access during your stay. Twin Rivers Stone Cottage has a classic "giraffe field stone" exterior which is a type of construction that is very unique to North Arkansas that was popular during the 1940's. We have attempted to maintain classic fishing lodge decor throughout the home. On the main floor, there are three bedrooms (with king, full, and two twin beds, respectively) and two full baths, as well as a full kitchen and spacious dining area. Each of the four upstairs bedrooms have a half bathroom within the respective sleeping areas. A shower in the upper hallway is shared among these four upstairs bedrooms. The living room provides comfortable seating and includes a piano and television with cable and access (via your subscription) to major streaming services. The living room wall is lined with classic books and interesting "treasures" from days gone by. The newly remodeled kitchen has all new appliances and is more than capable of providing food service to the fully occupied property. The dining room seats ten easily at a long custom-built harvest table, with additional seating for up to four at the kitchen counter. There is a spacious porch on the back of the home with rocking chairs, as well as a side porch with a swing. Additional relaxation is available at the fire pit and hammock ring in the backyard, which provides a calming space for reflection after a long day of fishing on the rivers or boating on beautiful Lake Norfork. The basement features a laundry with washer and dryer, as well as a poker and ping pong table. As with many basements, the head clearance is about 6 feet with exposed floor joists, so we recommend caution for persons who are tall enough to bump their heads in this area. The entire property (main floor, upstairs, basement and entire yard) is included in the rental. We can be reached through the messaging feature on the Airbnb app/website. The home is in the middle of the small town of Norfork, Arkansas, making for easy walking distance to the local grocery and liquor store, microbrewery, several restaurants, a coffee shop, as well as the public access area to the White and North Fork Rivers. Numerous options for fishing, hunting, kayaking, water sports, mountain biking, hiking, and sight-seeing are within easy reach of this property during your stay. The neighbors are friendly, the community is very safe, and access to various outdoor activities is easy. If your goal is relaxation, you will find this a quiet community where you can easily rest and recuperate. Once arrived at our home, you will be within easy walking distance of most attractions in Norfork. It will be beneficial to have a vehicle at your disposal during your stay for certain activities. Be advised, there is no local Uber, Lyft or taxi service, as the community is quite rural.

Great house with lots of room for the family. We had folks from 50 years old to 3 months old. Lots of space for everyone. Close to stores and food. Great fishing on the Norfork and White River.

We had our wedding in the backyard and the entire guest list stayed at the house. The house is spacious, accommodating, and just perfect and beautiful. It is a property we will come back to time and time again!

This is the cleanest property I have stayed in. Our group is visiting the 52 AR state parks in 2023 and this was a great home base for visiting Ozark Folk Center, Bull Shoals Stae Park, and Mammoth Springs State Park. We fished behind the house and caught a lot of trout. We rented Kayaks from Riley's Outfitters in Mtn Home and floated. We rented a party barge from Jordan Marina on Lake Norfork and it was reasonable. We road from Arkansas to Missouri on the Peel Ferry (last operating ferry in Arkansas). We visited Bull Shoals Caverns and Mountain Village 1890 in Bull Shoals. We went to Blachard Springs and hiked the boardwalk along Mirror Lake and the trail to the bottom of Mirror Lake Falls. Blanchard Cavern Tours were sold out so be sure to get tickets ahead of time. We hiked at Grand Gulf Missouri State Park since it was just 15 minutes past Mammoth Springs. We ate lunch at the Skillet Restaurant at the Ozark Folk Center and their entrees and deserts are so good. We ate dinner at PJ's, Gastons, and the Live Edge in Mt. Home and all 3 were 5 stars for both entress and deserts. The Live Edge is closest to the house and with beautiful presentation, lots of selection, and reasonable. Ate breakfast at the house and the kitchen is well equiped and table large enough to seat everyone. Loved the bedrooms upstairs all having a half bath. We were together but had privacy. 2nd stay there and will stay again when in the area.

As excited as we were by the listing photos, the actual experience of Stone Cottage far exceeded our expectations. We stayed here with 5 other MTB families and never once felt cramped. The house and grounds are simply beautiful and the historic structure is filled with eccentricities and character. Our boys spent hours at the fly tying bench... an especially neat touch.
The owners were easy and prompt with communication. We look forward to coming back next year (if not sooner!)

There are many book nooks, peaceful places, and cozy corners to enjoy. The house is comfortably furnished, well appointed and thoughtfully decorated to feel like you have come home in the Ozarks. We loved every bit of it!

My wife and I have six adult children, four of them are married, one has a steady boyfriend and between them all we have seven grand kids. If you do the math that's 20 people in one house!
The Stone Cottage suited us to a T! The property is beautiful and so well situation close to local stores and shops. The history, the fishing and water sports and hiking were just what we needed to have fun day trips.
The evenings were filled with great food prepared in their well stocked kitchen. Lots of fun games around the table. The back yard gave us plenty of room for the kids to play outside.
The porches were great places to gather and have coffee and conversations in the morning!
Lonnie and Robin were amazing hosts and were easy to communicate with!
What a treat! We loved our time here and would highly recommend it to large families!

This property is very comfortable and well equipped. It had several different areas for people to gather. Kids were upstairs, grown-ups in the living room or on the cozy porches. The beds are comfortable. Communication from our host was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay. We came to Arkansas to celebrated Fathers Day with my husband’s Dad. The house accommodated us perfectly with our big family . The house has seven comfortable rooms and a huge dining room table. We were never crowed even with our size of group. The outdoor decks were wonderful and the fire pit with 5 hammocks was great! We also played games in the spacious yard. The River beach was just a 5 minute walk. Also had a brewery with live music less than a five minute walk. There is a convenience store right next door. Has necessities but on the high side. There is a Harps grocery store up the road about 15 minutes or so. Also there is a disc golf course about 10-15 minutes away. I wish we would have seen this on the amenities so we could have brought our discs. (My boys love disc (frisbee) golf). The owners were very nice and responded with questions quickly. The kitchen was nicely equipped. They also provided toilet paper and washer/dryer. They have a little area (nook) upstairs with a library, so cute! Also has a little coffe bar area with Kuerig machine. Main kitchen has a perculating coffe pot only( google how to use it😉 took us a minute to figure out). Next door also has a historic group of buildings you can tour free at 10 am and 2pm. A little cafe within walking distance but it closed at 2:30 so we missed it. Wi-Fi worked great! They also have a few board games and chess. My niece loved the piano. Basement had ping pong table

Great location for everything we wanted to do. Clean and comfortable with really nice decor. Plenty of space and did not feel crowded. Well stocked kitchen. Liked that everyone could eat at the table at the same time. We explored Calico Rock the 1st day. 2nd day hiked Bull Shoals State Park and ate at Gaston's. 3rd day floated the White River; used the Syllamore Outfitters from down the street. 4th day hiked Blanchard Springs. House is close to grocery and places to eat. We walked down to the river to fish. Already planning another trip to Norfork and hope the house will be available.

My family gathered at this lovely home to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. We had family travel to AK from TX and MO (and CA and Bolivia), ranging from a 4 month old to an 80 year old. Everyone commented on how perfect the home was for the gathering. Each family had their own bedroom and there were several sitting areas to gather to talk--the LR, the large dining room table, two porches, and the hammock area. We did not feel like we were on top of each other--it is a very well designed space. The house was well equipped for everything that we needed for the stay--from dishes and flatware, to pots/pans, coffee makers, toaster, salad spinner, pitchers, etc. There are several outdoor activities within a short distance from Norfork. We took the kids fishing for trout at a river near the hatchery (near dam) & had a picnic there, we took a float trip on the Buffalo River, a group went horseback riding, and a group took a day trip to Eureka Springs/Thorncrown Chapel. The 2 year old was very excited each time the train passed through the back. The town of Norfork is quaint, and a perfect setting for quality family time. There is a walking path near the cemetery for walkers/runners in the family, and we loved the pastries & the large cinnamon rolls at Heidi's Ugly Cakes. (They are open Tues-Sat, and on Saturday, all pastries are buy 1 get 1 free. I highly recommend the cinnamon rolls.). We loved the home and the hosts were very responsive to inquiries.

Ideally situated, great location!
We had a very positive time renting and staying in this cottage. Plenty of room inside and out for play. Ideally situated between river and lake accesses. So many items were provided to make us feel at home and useful to make our meals and entertainment. Beautifully decorated and so many books to make us envious! Highly recommend!
