About this cottage rental

This property originally opened as the Staggs Hotel in 1945 to accommodate the builders of the Norfork and Bull Shoals Dams. Now, completely renovated, this historic home puts you in the middle of all that the Norfork area has to offer. The cottage sits just a short walk from the public access site at the North Fork and White Rivers convergence. Visitors near and far return to this area regularly for world class fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, water sports, mountain biking and sightseeing. Twin Rivers Stone Cottage is newly renovated with modern appliances and furniture, but retains a nostalgic coziness of a riverside vacation home. We have sought to create a warm and inviting atmosphere of “days gone by” with authentic vintage décor, while maintaining the modern comforts you have come to expect in a home away from home. Able to accommodate large groups, it is the perfect place for a family gathering , group retreat or getaway with friends. The cottage is deceptively spacious. With seven bedrooms, this property can sleep 20 comfortably. The first level king bedroom is next door to the full bath (with shower/tub combination) in the hallway. This bathroom also serves the kitchen and other downstairs common areas. The second and third downstairs bedrooms share a “Jack and Jill” bathroom with a shower. Each of the four upstairs bedrooms have a half bathroom within the respective sleeping areas. A shower in the upper hallway is shared among these four upstairs bedrooms. The newly remodeled kitchen has all new appliances and is more than capable of providing food service to the fully occupied property. The dining room seats ten easily at a long custom-built harvest table, with additional seating for up to four at the kitchen counter. The living room has ample seating, with a fireplace, a piano, and book-lined shelves for your enjoyment. And while we encourage low-tech engagement during your stay, high speed Wi-Fi internet access is available and complimentary. The television, which has both cable and streaming services available, is cleverly hidden behind a painted canvas (you don’t have to tell anyone it’s there if you choose not to!) The cottage also offers 2 sets of washers and dryers, located upstairs and in the basement respectively, for your convenience. The back porch is lined with rocking chairs and provides a beautiful view of the ridge opposite the White River, which is easily within walking distance. If you find you need a “more horizontal” seating arrangement for your rest and relaxation, the hammock ring, and fire pit are just a few steps away in the back yard. A side porch with a porch swing is just off the living room. A low ceiling basement offers table tennis, a card table, fly-tying bench, and fishing mudroom with an outdoor exit for all your fishing needs. Convenience is a huge perk to this property…you could stay several days and never use a car! Stock the kitchen from Two Rivers Market, a quaint grocery store just 2 doors down. For lunch, walk to Heidi’s Ugly Cakes for a delicious Ruben and a scrumptious dessert. For dinner, take a short walk to Little B’s Grill to enjoy an unforgettable Tex-Mex meal with customer service to match, or choose a fresh baked margarita pizza and a locally brewed IPA or lager from Norfork Brewing Company, a three minute walk from the cottage front door. For Finer dining options choose from The Grill at Whispering Woods, near the Norfork Dam, and PJ’s Restaurant on the White River, just a short drive south of Norfork. Also in walking distance: Two Rivers Fly Shop, Norfork Adventure Supplies, Norfork and Rose’s Trout Docks (guide services and boat rentals) and Woodsman’s Package Store. During your stay, don’t miss the opportunity to walk to the historic Jacob Wolfe House and Museum. Built in 1829, it is the last remaining two-story dog trot public structure in the US. Warm weather travelers can also pursue boating and water sports on Norfork or Bull Shoals Lakes, with boat and pontoon rentals available at several local marinas. However you choose to spend your time and pace, we feel confident your stay at Twin Rivers Stone Cottage will be memorable.

We had our wedding in the backyard and the entire guest list stayed at the house. The house is spacious, accommodating, and just perfect and beautiful. It is a property we will come back to time and time again!

As excited as we were by the listing photos, the actual experience of Stone Cottage far exceeded our expectations. We stayed here with 5 other MTB families and never once felt cramped. The house and grounds are simply beautiful and the historic structure is filled with eccentricities and character. Our boys spent hours at the fly tying bench... an especially neat touch. The owners were easy and prompt with communication. We look forward to coming back next year (if not sooner!)

There are many book nooks, peaceful places, and cozy corners to enjoy. The house is comfortably furnished, well appointed and thoughtfully decorated to feel like you have come home in the Ozarks. We loved every bit of it!

My wife and I have six adult children, four of them are married, one has a steady boyfriend and between them all we have seven grand kids. If you do the math that's 20 people in one house! The Stone Cottage suited us to a T! The property is beautiful and so well situation close to local stores and shops. The history, the fishing and water sports and hiking were just what we needed to have fun day trips. The evenings were filled with great food prepared in their well stocked kitchen. Lots of fun games around the table. The back yard gave us plenty of room for the kids to play outside. The porches were great places to gather and have coffee and conversations in the morning! Lonnie and Robin were amazing hosts and were easy to communicate with! What a treat! We loved our time here and would highly recommend it to large families!

This property is very comfortable and well equipped. It had several different areas for people to gather. Kids were upstairs, grown-ups in the living room or on the cozy porches. The beds are comfortable. Communication from our host was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay. We came to Arkansas to celebrated Fathers Day with my husband’s Dad. The house accommodated us perfectly with our big family . The house has seven comfortable rooms and a huge dining room table. We were never crowed even with our size of group. The outdoor decks were wonderful and the fire pit with 5 hammocks was great! We also played games in the spacious yard. The River beach was just a 5 minute walk. Also had a brewery with live music less than a five minute walk. There is a convenience store right next door. Has necessities but on the high side. There is a Harps grocery store up the road about 15 minutes or so. Also there is a disc golf course about 10-15 minutes away. I wish we would have seen this on the amenities so we could have brought our discs. (My boys love disc (frisbee) golf). The owners were very nice and responded with questions quickly. The kitchen was nicely equipped. They also provided toilet paper and washer/dryer. They have a little area (nook) upstairs with a library, so cute! Also has a little coffe bar area with Kuerig machine. Main kitchen has a perculating coffe pot only( google how to use it😉 took us a minute to figure out). Next door also has a historic group of buildings you can tour free at 10 am and 2pm. A little cafe within walking distance but it closed at 2:30 so we missed it. Wi-Fi worked great! They also have a few board games and chess. My niece loved the piano. Basement had ping pong table
