Un día en San José

La atención fue muy hogareña, nos atendieron super bien. El desayuno fue excepcional y todo el personal es muy amable!! El lugar es muy limpio y tiene muchísimas plantas, lo que hace que te sientas mas inmerso en la naturaleza a pesar de estar en una ciudad. Sin duda volvería!

A lovely oasis in the middle of the city, close to trendy areas

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to accommodate our special requests. The room was small but clean, and had a nice outdoor space with a table and chairs as well. It was conveniently located, safe, and quiet even in the middle of the city. The free breakfast comes with delicious fresh bread.

We had been told that the room would have a fridge, and were counting on it to store our food, but when we arrived we found that it was a wine fridge.

A great stopover

We stayed one night, the room had a private aspect to it and we felt safe (our room was separate from the hotel on the other side of the road). The bed was huge and comfortable. Entry and exit were easy with the security fob. We were able to walk 7 minutes to the National Museum. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed watching the men's Wimbledon final in the (lovely and cool) hotel reception! We liked the proximity to the bar/restaurant at the bottom of the road, meaning we didn't need to walk around at night. Also very close to a secure-feeling ATM.

There was nothing about the hotel we didn't like, it was great for what we needed. The area around it feels a bit run down and the taxi had some difficulty finding it, but that is not the hotel's fault. We tried to use the safe in the room but there was no power in it, however that wasn't too much a problem for our one night stop.

Disappointing

Airport pick up was smooth and efficient and much appreciated as we arrived late at night. Breakfast was good and served quickly. There was a safe in the room and the internet worked.

The room was dirty and uncomfortable. Bedding and towels were not well washed but were well used. I had no hot water in the shower the second morning. There was a fridge in the room as advertised, just no where to plug it in. All round, this hotel was well below the standard I had expected, particularly given the reviews. As we left, I realised that the reason it sounded like we were sleeping next to the train tracks was because we were, as I saw a huge train go along the end of the road! I wasn’t going to bother with a review, but after receiving 3 emails requesting I write a review how could I not?

The best of all small hotels!

The hotel is absolutely amazing! It is a close walk to the center and all the museums. Inside is like paradise! It’s decorated beautifully with attention to all the details. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. The view from the rooftop is gorgeous. Breakfast was generous and delicious!! Pick this one and you won’t regret it.

charming little spot just around the corner from all of the buzz Barrio Escalante has to offer!

The warm atmosphere of the staff and brightly colored walls that felt cheery. Room was quiet, breakfast was lovely and the coming and going with the keyless entry was great!

would be helpful to have a mini fridge in the room for leftovers and some soap for the sink!

Exceptional

The property is very well decorated and a very nice vibe, especially the patio. Room is really comfortable, and staff are so sweet and helpful. We needed to leave early for a tour and they made us breakfast early which was so nice. I really enjoyed exploring the city. The night life is very lively with young people all over the place going to bars and clubs

At some areas around the hotel it felt a bit isolated so I felt a bit nervous walking, but that's also because I read reviews to be careful in San Jose so I was already on edge. Nothing unsafe ever happened though.

Magical oasis conveniently located!

What an amazing place conveniently located, a short walk to Barrio Escalante & good food. There was colorful art and lush plants everywhere. Our bedroom was huge, very clean, and comfortable. Kurt, the owner, was charming, staff were friendly & helpful and breakfast was fresh & delicious.

Nice Staff, good location but Old and Small Room

the staff were excellent and breakfast was adequate. This hotel was very cost effective and fine if you are on a strict budget.

Tiny room with no room for luggage to fit, shower really small so if a large person it would be difficult. The room was old and had polyester sheets and had a damp smell on arrival. The other rooms in the hotel looked better so if staying be careful what room you choose.

Kind and helpful staff. Hotel is even more beautiful than in the pictures, very colorful and with lots of greens too. The breakfast outside is really nice. There is some free food and coffe/tea for breakfast but also the choice to order more food for a little money. location is not central but a short walk to downtown (also there’s two nice bars/pubs just outside).

Fantastic hotel

Really liked the hotel, we only stayed for a night but could have stayed longer. It was about a 10 minute walk into the centre and there is an Irish pub right next door to the hotel. The hotel is really safe and secure and so quiet at night.

I think it would be great if you could pay by card and not cash as ATM's charge a lot to withdraw money.
