About this house rental
The Sealander House was built by the City's Mayor in 1926. This historical home is full of old world charm, huge rooms, huge windows and drenched in sunlight. It features hardwood floors, a working fireplace, pocket doors, French doors, a huge dining room, 2 modern kitchens, 2 gas grills, one on the back porch off the kitchen and one on the 2nd floor deck, inviting porches and decks, a beautiful cupola. Lots of privacy with established gardens. Across the Street from Clifford Park. An amazing home perfect for groups/celebrations.
{What I am not interested in hosting drunken events with associated dangerous
behaviors like partying and vomiting on the roof, public urination and large numbers of attendees not accounted for in the reservation (12 guests listed and 60 are at the house) with associated destruction of my vintage house and property. This has only happened to me a couple of times but it's been heartbreaking. Not to mention my neighbors get upset. Most people are absolutely wonderful and are very kind and respectful to my property. I just want it to be clear to all since I have had this problem in the past.
I have a Eufy security system at The Sealander House. There are 4 cameras and they are all external. They are facing the doors to the house, the front door, the back door, the 2nd floor deck door and the balcony door. They are not on all the time. They are triggered by motion. My favorite pics so far have been wildlife. When I do not have guests the house is empty. I do not live close by so I find this security helpful and reassuring. I hope you do too.
The property has lots of establish trees and perennials and so so many birds. It feels like a bird sanctuary. I love this. You feel very private even though you are still in the city. It has a large front lawn and I have a fire pit on the front lawn.
I have a large assortment of beach gear too for your use including a beach umbrella, beach buggy, beach chairs, beach toys including boogie boards, and beach towels.
I really want my guests to have everything they need to have a great time. Have fun.

We brought our kids and grandkids. Had 19 of us. There was plenty of space. Kids loved how much space room to run and, hide. We all enjoyed the woodchuck who lives under back porch. Location was good. Plenty of towels, toilet paper and trash bags. All appreciated. Only thing I would suggest is putting together 3 ring binder with suggestions for area. Local delivery of pizza etc. otherwise a wonderful place wood highly recommended

Our family of 12 stayed very comfortably in this huge old home. The dining room accommodated us perfectly. We enjoyed the fire pit and gathering on the front lawn for games and s'mores in the evenings. A good time was had by all, 13-74 years old.

We had a great week at the Sealander. Our party of 16 included 9 adults and 6 children ages 18 months to 10 years. There was plenty of space for all. We enjoyed the front porch and yard as well as the living space inside. A/C was great. Plenty of parking for our 5 families. Mature plantings and trees provided privacy. Easy drive to beaches. Would definitely stay again

This property is beautiful, it offered all the amenities and was super clean. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out or sit together and enjoy a meal. Great outdoor space And plenty of parking. Easy location to surrounding towns or downtown for us. It was a great location to our wedding venue. Also a great hostess!

We had our daughter’s graduation and opted for everyone to stay together.
Pros:
Lots of room to spread out, 2 kitchens stocked for large crowds, wrap around porch , and fire-pit were lovely. Communication with host was immediate and very positive.
Cons:
Old lumpy/ squeaky mattresses, bed linens, pillows, and towels. Hot water inadequate for 12 people to stay there, advertised for 16. No working ice maker.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sealander House. It was the perfect spot for us to host a bridal shower. The space was open and bright and the second full kitchen was such an amazing help. The porches are gorgeous and the guests appreciated being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Laura was very responsive and helpful. Thank you!!

The Sealander House was perfect for a get-away workspace for our non-profit board of directors to hold our retreat. There were plenty of comfortable places for us to gather, work, discuss, and connect. We were all able to have our own beds (all eight of us)! The house is light, bright, huge but still cozy, and ideal for us. In fact, we would love to come back again next year!

Very nice property with a lot of history.

Our family of 15 just stayed at the historic Sealander house and had a great time. The 6 bedrooms and 4 pull-out sofas provided more than enough sleeping options. Being 3 stories tall and temps near 90 all week I thought the house would be uncomfortably hot but AC units in the bedrooms and on each floor kept things very cool.
Laura responded quickly to any problems we had which made for a relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this house for a large group looking to visit Southern Maine as a matter of fact the family already booked for 2024!

We absolutely loved this old charmer of a house! The property is located in town, but it felt so remote and peaceful due to the trees surrounding the property. The house felt like walking around in a New England dream. The owner was so kind and accomodating and allowed for a little earlier check in as most of us were arriving at a variety of times. There were no crazy close down expectations when leaving. This property is close to so many activities and an absolute must stay!

Great home for family of 13 ages from 8 to 80. Everyone immediately felt at home here. We were greeted by beautiful flowers-lilacs, peonies & irises upon arrival. Lilies and daisies bloomed later. Plenty comfortable, clean bedrooms and bathrooms. The large sunroom, balcony, front porch, upper deck and dining room provided great gathering places. The one month reservation allowed time for trips to northern and southern attractions. Great vacation location.

We spent several days with family at this lovely Victorian mansion in preparation for a family wedding. The accommodations were quite spacious with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and two kitchen areas, providing ample room for all of us (including two youngsters). The kitchen was well stocked and the house very clean. It is an amazing house, with quite a history, close to Saco and across the street from a beautiful park. The owner was super helpful and hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a marvelous time at the Sealander House. There were 2 kitchens, bedrooms were adequately sized, beds were comfy, and plenty of TP and towels for guests. This is my second time renting from this owner (she has another beautiful home nearby), & she was responsive to any issues.

Laura was kind, the space was nice and open for all of us, and the location was perfect! Comfy beds, very clean home. We forgot our ipad & Laura was gracious enough to meet up with us while we were out. Would definitely recommend this place. Thanks again!

This property was beautiful, spacious, super clean and well stocked. It was the perfect place to have family and friends stay for pre wedding festivities. With two kitchens and three floors, the bridal party had plenty of room to spread out and get ready, and plenty of space for food to graze on throughout the day. The front porch was an added benefit for much needed relaxation and a cocktail or two. Having this house helped make the most perfect weekend for a wedding. Fantastic memories were made! Check in and check out were super easy. I hope to have another happy occasion soon to to rent this beautiful property again!

The house was well suited for our large family gathering. The two kitchens helped while cooking. House was clean and ready for us. Plenty to do down town or over the bridge in Saco. Definitely will consider this property again.

The Sealander house made our Maine family reunion a truly memorable vacation! With its 3 floors, 2 kitchens, spacious and well-lit sunroom, dining room, & living room, we never felt crowded. We made use of the beach towels, sand toys, and umbrella, and the kids loved going to the park across the street. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchens and bathrooms were well-supplied. The firepit on the front lawn was a great gathering spot in the evening, and the trees provided complete privacy from the street. Laura was very responsive, and she even purchased a portable crib for our granddaughter (& future guests) to use. We really loved staying all together in one home rather than in separate places. Thank you, Laura!

Great stay for a family vacation
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sealander house. It was very spacious and comfortable. The best part was that it had everything we needed. Usually when we travel through VRBO, we have to head to the store for essentials. We were pleasantly surprised to see ample toilet paper, paper towels, soap, laundry and dish detergent, and even shampoo in the showers! We also took advantage of the beach chairs, towels, and toys several times.
Despite being on a fairly busy road, the trees offer a ton of privacy and safety for kids playing in the front yard. It is steps away from a small playground and several trails and not far from Biddeford town.
We had a very minor toilet clog early in the stay which was attended to promptly. We felt very well taken care of.

More instructions would be helpful
Although it was cold in the house when we arrived, Laura was very responsive in getting the heat up and running. We never knows how to adjust the heat but it was ok. A few more suggestions: give some directions. on how to handle the trash. (Outdoor cans were full when we arrived and we didn’t know what to do with kitchen trash.). Also need some instructions on the tv, although we finally figured it out.). Loved the spaciousness of the property.
