One block to either the Atlantic Ocean or the Rehoboth Bay, this condo is for those who like seeing the water! Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and enjoy the ocean and pool view. A non-smoking 2 bedroom / 2 bath condo unit designed to optimize your relaxation and enjoyment while staying in the best vacation spot the beach has to offer! Park your car in one of the two reserved spots for the week! Enjoy Dewey Beach's' small town convenience. While staying in the Opal, enjoy walk to shopping, restaurants, night life or venture out further and take the Jolly Trolley to nearby Rehoboth Beach and revel in the night life on the boardwalk without having to worry about parking! This condominium has a comfortable open floor design, well appointed, fully stocked kitchen and comfortably sleeps five adults. Master bedroom has a queen bed and second bedroom has a queen bed and double bunk bed. Both bedrooms are fully furnished with a multi drawer dresser, large closet, LED HD Flat Panel TV, Blueray HD DVD player, and alarm clock. The living room has a NEW sofa which can converts to a queen bed for an additional sleeping space. The kitchen is fully equipped and is furnished with stainless steel appliances, two coffee makers (standard and Keurig), granite counter tops, hardwood laminate floors, and a mosaic back splash. New for the 2022 season, a 42 inch Samsung UHD flat panel TV , a new two person dining set strategically placed to enjoy the ocean view. In 2022 we replaced all the fire extinguishers and added one in each bedroom and one in the kitchen. We replaced all the existing smoke detectors with vision impaired10 year battery strobe units. The kitchen disposal was upgraded to a unit with a 3/4 HP quiet unit. For added safety we have a fire extinguisher in the hot water heater closet. An additional fire extinguisher is located outside of the front door. The condo has built a building wide sprinkler system. There are LED emergency lights throughout the condo. These lights are motion activated and light up at night. They also double as a flash light when there is a power outage. Flashlights are in each nightstand. For children, there is The John Waples fenced playground, located less than half a block away towards the bay for off beach enjoyment. Our property is available year round with priority going to weekly rentals during the peak summer season. ** All renters must be 25 years old to rent and stay in our condo, unless you are a family with minor children.** No pets allowed per HOA. Our standard arrival time during peak season is 4 PM and departure is 10 AM. Keywords: Condominium 2BR/2Bath Dewey Beach Opal You need a fob to enter the pool area- hanging on hooks by front door. I can’t even put into words how bad this vacation was for us. The condo was “cleaned” and I was told we could check-in. Upon entering the condo, we immediately noticed the level of filth that was on every single surface. The baseboards had never been cleaned, both showers were covered in a thick layer of black mold, the floors were unswept and unmopped leaving our feet black, there was a used tampon in the bathroom drawer, and the bedrooms were disheveled. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was broken and the condo was 75 degrees with 80+ percent humidity. I immediately notified Brittany of our issues. It took over 24 hours and multiple texts before she sent somebody to clean and fix the AC.
On night three, the fire alarm was triggered around 3-4am but ONLY in our unit. We had to call the fire department to come out as the unit doesn’t automatically notify them. After 30 minutes, they arrived and told us to let the owner know immediately or they would receive a fine for malfunctioning fire alarms. Brittany told me she was sending somebody to replace the units. Two residents from an upstairs unit were sent (NOT fire professionals) and she instructed them to shut the fire alarm off in the breaker box. We said absolutely not - we would not stay without a functioning alarm.
Brittany told me we would receive a refund. After 5 weeks, texts saying she paid me, and multiple calls to VRBO, she finally issued a partial refund.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Horrible host

Really 4.5 stars. The place was fantastic for our family of four. We cooked in a few nights and walked everywhere. Two parking spots!! We didn’t start the car once since our arrival. Minor appliance issues and the property manager was responsive. We will book the same place next year. Lost half a star because the mattresses were old and could use replacement.

We stayed M-F and didn’t move our car; the condo is across the street from the beach with restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Condo was spotless, check in was easy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Definitely recommend for a relaxing stay at the beach!

We had an amazing time at this property. It was close to the beach and nightlife. The property was very clean and had enough space to accommodate everyone without us feeling on top of each other. Brittany was so attentive and responsive to all of my questions and needs.
You can’t go wrong staying here. Once you arrive, you just park your car and enjoy your stay. Everything is in walking distance. We will definitely be staying here again :-)

Overall great place to stay, close to everything, only issue was construction that we weren’t aware of until check in so we had to pay extra for parking.

We enjoyed our stay so much at this condo and the property manager was absolutely wonderful!
She was highly thorough in providing instructions about our stay and reminders before we even got there.
She gave us an early check in and check out and highly responsive for all questions we had.
The condo is up to date and was beautiful, very clean and a perfect location being right between the bay and ocean. Took a minute walk from bars and restaurants. There is a cute little grocery/coffee shop right across the street.
My friends and I had plenty of space and the views from the deck were beautiful. There is a table set up there in the living room as well so we could drink our coffee in the morning and take in the beautiful ocean scenery!
Would highly recommend and we booked again for this coming May! Thanks again!

This was our second time staying in Dewey Beach at this condo. Came down for the super bowl. The location spot made it easy--fast to walk to and from the beach and a handful of restaurants. Everything is waling distance and you dont have to drive anywhere. This is also a little grocery store right across the street. Property manager was very helpful. Checked on us when we got in the condo. Was able to check in early which was super helpful and She also offered us a late check out today after the superbowl game. Condo was clean and everything we needed. Property manager reminded us to bring sheets and towels. My family and I had a wonderful experience. The property was clean, updated, and very close walk to the beach. Parking was easy with two spots included and communications with the owner was pleasant and professional. Would definitely recommend.

Not only when we walked in was there still trash from the people before us but we also had 0 toilet paper. We had to buy our own. So apparently you need to bring your own sheets and towels and toilet paper! The heat didn’t work we were cold the whole time staying there since it was winter when we came down. Last after we left they tried to charge us $500 for a pet fee when we didnt have a pet there. She messaged me accusing me of what kind of dog we had there when we had 0 dogs there just like there was 0 toilet paper left for us. The owners are liars and thieves. Do not come here stay anywhere else but here. They will rob you of money and accuse you if things you never did with 0 proof on top of that. I don’t even know how we could have had a dog there since we were there for a beer festival and couldn’t check in till 4pm but the beer festival started at 11 so where would we have even kept a dog to began with.

This was the second time we had stayed here. It is very centrally located, the pool is a great feature. The condo is equipped with everything you would need. We will be back.

Great location in Dewey. Close to the beach and many restaurants. Access to the pool was a plus. We didn't use the top bunk as the bed didn't seem too steady and was pretty noisy every time someone shifted. Also, very limited tv channels, and bedroom TVs didn't have a box, so you needed to use a DVD player.

It comfortably housed our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 youth under the age of 12) and could easily accommodate two additional adult guests without the feeling of being overcrowded. The rental comes fully stocked with kitchen essentials, so it allows for a trip to be an affordable beach stay. We used to rent the condo from the previous owner. We are repeat patrons of the condo precisely because of its past cleanliness and location. However, upon check-in, we spent the first day thoroughly cleaning the rental. We replaced the shower curtain, scrubbed mold from the bathroom's shower head, bought new mattress covers, mopped significantly, wiped down surfaces, and removed stained rugs from the floor. We were disappointed that the place was not as clean as it had been in the past. The cleaning service did attend to the rental (denoted by tape covering toilet seats), but they did not do a basic cleaning job which was apparent by the evidence left behind. I contacted the manager, who was apologetic and did reimburse the cleaning fee. The manager shared that they did not change the cleaning services from the previous owner. The manager reported this disappointment to the cleaning service, and we shared with them a few photos of the property. Overall, we enjoyed our stay due to the location, convenience, and activities the beach has to offer. Tentatively, we may consider renting the property again (as we have done in the past) in hopes that the challenges we faced upon arrival would be due to the growing pains faced through the transition of new ownership. The property manager was gracious, conscious, and responsive, which warranted the 4-star.
