The place was clean and quaint, our stay here was comfortable and communication with the management was good. The alley access was a little unexpected, I may have missed it in the description but we managed and still enjoyed our stay. We stayed in September and glad there were fans which kept it comfortable for us could be a concern in the hotter months. Overall was a good experience and if we come back to Carbondale would consider this cute cabin again!

This is a great place to enjoy everything the area has to offer. It’s super clean and close to downtown. Just the right size for 2 people. The hosts were great and helped us get fans to cool it down in an extra warm day.

This hot property is located right in the heart of all the late-night action that Carbondale has to offer. It is literally off of an alley to several major establishments on Main Street. The cabin has a cozy couch, high ceilings, and it is flooded with sunshine early in the morning. Parking is just twenty yards or so away from the front door. The cabin sits within a pretty, well-maintained back yard of a historic Carbondale home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Red Door. The cabin has almost everything you'd need for a weekend getaway (blackout curtains in the bedroom would be a welcome addition). It was comfortable and rustic (but in a good way!). Carbondale is a really underrated mountain town with good food, cute shops, and a dog friendly brewery. The cabin is right off main street so it is highly walkable, and also a short drive to Maroon Bells and Glenwood Springs. If you are traveling with a dog, be sure to check out the off-leash Carbondale Nature Park just a 7 minute walk down the road. We'd love to visit again.

I don’t really like dealing with property managers as I feel it takes the intimacy out of the booking process but the place really was a perfect complement of the natural landscapes. You can feel the history. You are in someones backyard which is kind of off putting but overall an excellent choice for travelers.

We had an excellent stay in the heart of Carbondale. The Red Door Hideout was the perfect place for all the adventure we could ask for.

We had a great weekend sking Aspen and loved staying at the Red Door. We were able to walk to great restaurants for dinner and then enjoyed a cozy night hanging out in the cabin. This is a perfect place for 2 people to enjoy a long weekend.

This cabin is tucked away in a nice yard, but also in the center of Carbondale. The main room dates to the 1880s and has a true rustic feel. In keeping with that time period, the windows are relatively small, but Carbondale is all about being outdoors! This was my second stay at the red door and I am certain there will be a third. It is just steps from both the core of Carbondale with shops and restaurants as well as the many miles of the rio grande trail.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week living here!! The cabin sits right off of Main Street, so everything is nearby. Amenities include all that you'd need plus super comfortable furniture. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend The Red Door Hideout for anyone seeking a cozy western experience in the heart of town.

Property is as advertised. Charming historic cabin within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Comfy bed and nice walk in shower. Fridge doesn’t have a freezer - so bring a cooler and ice . We loved not having to drive to get dinner. Highly recommend this property

Great location, very nice lodging and hosts. Wi-Fi bandwidth and quality of toilet and facial tissues should be improved.

Dog friendly as advertised except have to keep dog on leash in yard. Not a problem but didn’t see that on the description. Overall excellent. Comfortable great location and took dog to dog park easily.

The cabin is a very beautiful and unique stay. That being said, we were excited to bring our dog to stay with us and were very upset when the owner texted us the day before our stay to let us know that they had just reseeded the backyard and we wouldn’t be able to use it at all (which is the main reason we paid more to book this specific property). The cabin is next to an alley in the downtown area and we had to walk blocks away to take our dog to the bathroom as there was no grass nearby. If we had a younger dog this wouldn’t be a big issue but our dog is a senior and scared of other dogs so the fenced yard was ideal. I have no issue with the owners doing what they needed to do to maintain the property. I was just disappointed that they waited to tell us until the day before our stay so there was literally nothing we could do about it unless we wanted to lose a $1000 deposit. The owner said the companies in the area book up quickly and this was the only time they had available to do the yard (which again, I understand) but if that’s the case, they probably knew well ahead of our stay and could’ve let us know sooner. Between the yard and not allowing dogs on the furniture (this is in the listing so it wasn’t a surprise), it just didn’t seem like a very dog friendly space. Also while it looks nice, the shower floor is very uncomfortable to stand on and there was no heat (it got down to <40 during the night). Heat’s only available Oct-May. We stayed in June. Wouldn’t book again

The Red Door Hideout is nestled in the heart of Carbondale. It is a perfect location - to walk around town to check out the shops, eat in the best restaurants in CO, or head outside for some adventures. The house itself is spacious, clean, updated, and honestly - perfect for a weekend or a week. Everything is great about this spot.

This warm, welcoming cabin is the perfect retreat for some rest and relaxation. Nestled in the heart of downtown Carbondale, guests are within walking distance to unique local shops, a gourmet dinner at Alegria and a variety of other local cuisine. A must-stay!

Cozy historic cabin. Steps from restaurants etc on Main Street.

They cabin is adorable! It’s very Carbondaleesque. I don’t know of anyplace else that it is NOT considered sketchy to go down an alley to a fenced door and find a cabin! I was conveniently placed in town. We loved the atmosphere and especially enjoyed the company of the chickens!! There were a few cons though. The porch lite was out.and made it very difficult to navigate getting in the gate to the front door hand trying to get it open. There were solar path lights, but they were very dim and hard to navigate getting in with the gate door opening in and the steps.
The inside was quaint and comfortable. Really had that cabin vibe. The hanging light didn’t work so the living room was a bit dark unless you turned on the ceiling lights that were very bright and had miss matched bulbs of warm and bright white.made it awkward. Some outlets didn’t work, but that’s a cabin. A night light would be suggested and better quality toilet paper! Lol. We would have bought our own, but I was concerned they may have had a septic system.
Our biggest issue was the massive cobwebs and bugs in them. The window above the door is gross! There’s also cob webs in the rafters. Why am I getting changed a for professional cleaning fee? It also would have been nice to know about the elm seed bugs prior to booking and not after we checked in!! It was cute and an interesting story.
The host was very pleasant. We still had a great time, it just lacked the love and special touches that the other places had.

Comfortable, charming, cozy little house with its' own private entrance and very conveniently located in downtown Carbondale. Brittany and family are very friendly and helpful when needed but gave us the privacy we looked forward to. The history of the house appealed to us and the interior was so comfortable and attractive. It had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend the Red Door Hideout and may very well return ourselves.

All the check in instructions were very good.
The cabin is nicely appointed. There was no bureau to put clothing. I would suggest a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Some nights it did not cool down enough. It is very convenient and easy to walk.

The little cabin with the red door was a delightful experience. Brittany and her family welcomed us with open arms. The cabin is such a treat and well appointed. The backyard was relaxing and fun for my grandson to play in. Would love to be back soon.

A cute cabin near the center of town
We enjoyed our stay at the Red Door Hideout. It is cute as can be. The location was ideal, centrally located. within a block of several restaurants. The owners are delightful and helpful. Note that the cabin is in the back yard of the owner’s house, who have a young family. I would have appreciated black out blinds in the bedroom, and some way of making ice. The cabin is on the alley, and we heard some dumpster noise.

All went perfect. Property manager was extremely prompt with everything involved.
Perfect I will be going back.
