About this house rental

Welcome to the beautifully appointed Skagit River Farmhouse. The perfect stand-alone destination, or home base for all of your Pacific Northwest adventures. The Skagit River connects the majestic cascade mountains to fertile farm fields and the Salish Sea...and it runs along the back side of the property!
Our 3600sq. ft. home is carefully designed with guests in mind. Large enough for everyone to be comfortable, while maintaining the cozy feel of a home away from home.

If a quiet riverside retreat is what you’re after, a hop and skip over the levee to our private riverside meadow will fill your heart with joy. A walk along the river with coffee or tea in hand is the perfect beginning or end to any day, as the trail atop the levee winds its way along the river past picturesque farm fields with the cascade mountains as a backdrop all the way to downtown Mount Vernon.

Forest- If the mountains call, you’re about halfway from Seattle to Mt. Baker, and just 2 minutes from the North cascades highway, the gateway to the American Alps. The Skagit River Farmhouse makes a perfect home base for weeks worth of breathtaking day hikes or skii/snowboarding trips followed by an evening soak in the hot tub under the stars, and a great night's sleep in our comfy new beds and linens.

FIELD -The farmhouse is located in the heart of the Skagit River Valley, home to some of the most beautiful and fertile fields in the Pacific Northwest. You can visit daffodil and tulip fields in spring, many family owned vegetable, berry, or flower farms in the summer months, pumpkin patches and cideries in Autumn, and the world renown fields full of snow geese and trumpeter swans in winter.

SEA - In addition to floating the river (there is a put-in a few miles north of the farmhouse), the house is also just 20 minutes from Anacortes, the small seaside town from which you can catch a ferry to the stunning San Juan islands or a whale watching charter if you're so inclined. If beach walks are what you’re after, explore all 7 of the state parks bordered by the Salish sea, home to orcas, sea birds, pacific salmon, and abundant sea life, all within 10-40 minutes of the house.

Farmhouse layout:
Main floor:
Sea bedroom, Livingroom w/ gas fireplace, office/exercise room, kitchen, dining room, full bath, laundry room. (outside: hot tub, partially covered deck, gas BBQ, patio seating)
Second floor:
Field Suite (queen bed) w/ soaking tub and rain shower. Woodland creatures bedroom (2 twin beds) Forest bedroom (one queen bed), second living room (outside: small deck w/ seating for two off the living area)
Third floor:
Open concept room with three twin beds on one side and a family seating area stocked with books and board games and shuffleboard on the other.

We hope to see you soon at the Skagit river Farmhouse!

The house was beautiful, both inside and out. We loved that it was so spacious… so many beds and rooms available for our three families (6 adults and 6 kids). The kitchen was fully stocked - think high-end appliances, Hexclad pots and pans, kids and adult dishware and cutlery, coffee maker AND ground coffee - and it felt like home. We really appreciated the central air conditioning, play room with games and books on the 3rd floor, and hot tub (with extra towels). Julie was quick to reply to our questions at all times of the day, and we even got to meet her and her husband in person. They were very kind, helpful with suggestions/recommendations, and quick to ensure we had no concerns at all. Overall we had a wonderful stay and made many memories with our friends. This home is close to the Skagit River (one friend enjoyed early morning runs along the river trail), as well as Costco and Target (about 10-15 mins away). We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We loved our stay in this beautiful home! It was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host went out of her way to make sure we had all of the information we needed for a smooth check in. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Mt. Vernon!

I travel with a group of adult women, and we have book reading staycations. Julie's home was pretty much everything we'd hoped it would be. The location is lovely, the check-in process and communication with the owner was a dream. Property instructions and check-out procedures were also great! The kitchen is spacious and well stocked, the downstairs bedroom needs some light-blocking curtains. The primary on the second floor is spacious and the bathroom is huge, it's only a little strange that there's not a King bed in there instead of a Queen. The other Queen room on the second floor and the bathroom were great. The third bedroom on the second floor was pictured to have a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and a twin on top, but instead had two twins, which was a little bit of a disappointment. The living room area on the second floor is super comfy, it only needs a few more side tables for beverages when you're tucked in to read or watch movies. The third floor space is HUGE and comfy. Outdoor spaces were lovely and kept clean. The hot tub was a hit. Overall, it was a really lovely 3-night staycation weekend.

Our stay at the farmhouse was perfect! The house was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and overall a great place to stay! Despite the VRBO app having issues, the host was super easy to communicate with!! Would stay here again for sure!

This house was absolutely perfect for our family. It was the most well stocked with everything you could wish for cooking for a large group. There was plenty of space to spread out and lots of games to keep us busy when we weren’t out hiking. Highly recommend!!
