My wife and I spent 5 fabulous days in the most comfortable, calming and private quarters. Heather, the owner of the property, is most definitely a SUPER HOST!
The accommodations were great. Everything we possibly could have needed was right there. We loved staying there and look forward to returning again.

Our second time here. As expected super tidy and up-to-date decor. Felt right at home. This time we were able to Mtn Bike super close by at a world class spot. We then attended a wonderful outdoor musical event in San Rafael and spend a day touring / eating our way through San Francisco. This is a wonderful hub for activities or just kicking back! We love it here!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment is full of light, with a garden or mountain view from every room. The patio off the kitchen is beautiful and peaceful. The host is friendly and helpful and has placed many thoughtful touches around the apartment to make it as comfortable as possible. Great location for side trips to the redwoods and beaches. This is my second time staying here and I hope to come back.

We enjoyed our stay at Heathers property! Location was wonderful, we loved walking to Giaco's just down the street for AMAZING FOOD, and excellent coffee. Heather was absolutely amazing as well, she really made us feel comfortable! We stayed during the winter so we couldn't enjoy the outside at all - (rained every day), I'm sure it's even better during the summer months!

We had the most lovely time. While the area isn’t new to us, our stay at Heather’s place was our first time (and hopefully not last). We loved everything from the up to date decor, cleanliness throughout, thoughtful amenities and peaceful surroundings. It was super close to Spirit Rock and the hiking trails above her house are world class. Thanks Heather for your gracious welcome and lovely stay. We’d for sure do this again.

What a wonderful, wonderful experience, staying at Heather, and Troy’s lovely apartment in the San Geronimo Valley. I was very happy and very very comfortable. As hosts, they thought of everything, and had it ready for me, if there was anything, I thought of additionally, they were happy to provide it. I could not have asked for better!

Stayed here on a solo weekend getaway and loved it! Heather was a thoughtful host offering local suggestions and providing clear instructions. The space is full of light and the side patio is charming. Loved all of the plants in the decor and special touches like throw blankets, coffee beans, and fresh ice in the freezer. I hope to be back!

My husband and I planned a short two night getaway to celebrate our 20th anniversary and to take a breath from the hectic pace of our lives. From the minute we stepped into this beautiful retreat, we felt our cares and worries slipping away. Troy and Heather have created such a welcoming, spacious and warm space to enjoy and we are already planning our next stay. It was immaculate and well equipped. The cozy outdoor courtyard is the perfect place to curl up with a good book. Heather went above and beyond as our hostess, welcoming us with a note, some fresh produce, including tomatoes grown in her garden, and a bottle of champagne for our 20th. It rained one day and she even left us a couple of umbrellas in case we wanted to have a rain walk. She thought of every detail and spoiled us with her thoughtfulness. She gave us some wonderful recommendations for meals and coffee. We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Giaco’s Roadhouse and coffee and muffins from Pump Espresso Bar. If you are looking for a place to relax and breathe deeply, this is just the spot for you.

Had the most wonderful getaway here! Everything was impeccable - very clean, perfect size, so well decorated! The kitchen was stocked with all the items we needed to cook a meal, and we loved sitting outside on the warm evenings.
The best part were all the thoughtful details and amenities Heather provided as our host. We were greeted with fresh flowers and several goodies upon our arrival, including an avocado and fresh tomatoes we added to our dinner!
Heather also knew we were hoping to say hello to her kitties, so on our final morning she enticed Steph Purry to come out with some kibble to ensure we had a chance to meet him. As many other reviewers have noted, Heather is truly committed to making sure everyone truly enjoys their stay here!
Highly recommend and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you, Heather!

My partner and I booked Heather's place for a private getaway to write our vows and get some quality time together before we get married next weekend. We felt so cared for at Heather's place! It is full of thoughtful touches, from fresh flowers to soft bedlinens to nice bath products to a bowl of delicious garden tomatoes. She even set out a notebook for us to write our vows in and take, which we totally took her up on. You can hike right into the hills overlooking Kent Lake from the house, and bonus the neighborhood is spilling over with blackberries this time of year. We left feeling joyful and centered, exactly like we dreamed. Thank you!

A perfect escape from central California heat.
We were delighted with this simply and beautifully decorated one bedroom apartment filled with natural light. The sliding glass door in the kitchen area opened out onto a lovely patio and a terraced hillside with flowers, trees, herbs and other plants—a rejuvenating space whether inside or outside.
Our host, Heather, was very helpful in suggesting places in the area that we might like to visit and answering any questions we had. We hope to return again soon.

One of the best ever
Heather has truly created a beautiful, healing retreat in this space. Every detail has been considered, the back garden is a work of love and art, and Heather's hospitality is just right - enough to know she's there if you need her and, at the same time, giving guests plenty of breathing room. Good proximity to great hiking and services. It was perfect for me, and left me feeling grateful to her.

wonderful accommodations off the beaten path
do you ever wonder if there could possibly be a nice place to stay when you drive the back roads of northern california
we were looking for a place to spend our anniversary
our desire was to have much needed down time and take hikes weather permitting
our wishes came true while searching for such a place in marin county
we happened upon Lagunitas-Forest Knolls
we are picky so there is a sense of anticipation as we drive
what if it smells bad
what if the bed isn't comfortable
will the furniture feel and look overused
will there be a lot of noise or a sense of privacy for downtime
the list goes on.... details we think about
to our delight we found a lovely newly renovated space with
nicely appointed features and everything we needed
every room was very clean
comfortable couch and bed
kitchen supplies
we felt relief and delight
thank you heather for the generous special touches you added for the occasion
we highly recommend this cozy couples destination

Perfect nature retreat
Heather was the perfect host for an unbelievable place, in fact the best host I've ever had. The home was quiet and beautiful, with a view of the mountains and gorgeous walks and hikes just outside the door. Heather has thought of everything to make the home well-equipped, comfortable, and charming. She even stocked the kitchen with lots of yummy food. She gave us detailed hiking tips and suggestions for great eating in the area, and this is foodie-central! It took us no time to get there from our East Bay home, but it felt like a world away. There are even two super friendly outdoor cats that will be happy to say hello. I can't wait to go back!
