Summary:
This modern, spacious house in Monument has easy access to everything! Just outside of downtown Monument, 8 minutes to the north gate of USAFA. Plus this house backs up to a great park with a creek, fields, and small play area for kids. You're just off Mount Herman Rd with miles of access to Mount Herman and national forest for camping, biking, or whatever you're into! We were recently Featured as Modern 5BR House in Monument Near USAFA & Park by Pic2Click, complete with a virtual tour and video! Check it out!
2800+ sqft, 2 level home (includes full basement). You'll have 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, 2 twin bunks, and a sleeper sofa. There are 5 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. There are family/TV rooms on both levels so you'll have plenty of room to spread out.
The Space:
Monument is a quintessential Colorado experience. You'll be located near Monument Lake for plenty of family fun, including fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding! Also, within walking distance of downtown Monument, two regional parks, and numerous hiking and biking trails. You're just a 10-15 minute drive to ATVing or camping spots. If some of your group wants to go hiking while others go shopping, this is a great base!

Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire home. You're located off a road that does not have room for street parking, so you'll be limited to 2 cars.
The Neighborhood:
This neighborhood is an established neighborhood with lots of large trees and a park and playground 2 houses down which you can get to through the back gate. It's very family friendly! From the park, you can also see the train that runs nearby, our daughter loves to watch it. You're nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and just a few minutes drive west to Pikes Peak National Forest!
Getting Around:
You'll be within walking distance of Monument Lake (12 minutes) and of Downtown Monument (15 minutes) with lots of cute shops, restaurants, etc. Just out the back is access to a large park with lots to do. A car is still going to be your best mode of transportation for anything outside of Monument, obviously.
Other Things to Note:
There are 2 room A/C units provided for the upper level. They do a good job of keeping things cool, and Colorado nights usually cool down enough to keep things comfortable as well.
We require ID verification, terms accepted, and security deposit for all reservations.
No raging parties, but family get togethers, holiday celebrations, etc. are welcome. Please let us know and keep parking limited to the 2 spaces in the driveway.
*You are limited to parking in two designated parking spots on the right side of the driveway. The driveway does need to stay clear at all times! Any extra cars can park down the street at the park during the day only.
**Right now there is construction going on behind the house. The gate is closed and you will see construction workers coming and going during the day. The back deck is usable at all times but is more peaceful during the evenings. There may be some noise during the day due to this. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Communication was delayed especially when requesting early check in. Which was requested 2 before day of and once day of. The area was beautiful. We found that the house lacked in cleanliness all around . I have pictures. The lights kept going out when we would try using the air conditioners that were provided.

Please be cautious. The management company for this property is very difficult to work with. There’s a language barrier and poor response time. Day 1-The kitchen faucet was clearly broken upon on arrival and should have been replaced before we ever arrived. They did not respond in time for us to have drinking water other than a bathroom so my husband drove to Home Depot & bought one, came back and installed it. The dishwasher was also out of service so we had no way to wash dishes. Day 2-The management company switched out furniture at 9pm the following night and brought another dishwasher that still did not work. This should have been taken care of after we left or before we arrived not in the middle of our stay. It was very disruptive and we were exhausted. Day 3-the disposal leaked water all over the floor because it wasn’t installed correctly. I started feeling really bad for my husband who was continually under the sink fixing things. There were not enough towels per number of guest, the hallway fan was broken, one of the stairs to the hot tub was broken, there were no drinking glasses and no filtered water. Very non-relaxing experience. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub was nice. I would not have posted as much detail, except that both VRBO and the host refused to reimburse us for all of these difficulties. They merely paid us back for the faucet we installed. So frustrating and disappointing.

THE HOT house- no AC. The basement is cool but the house was hot most of the time and if you open the windows that do open, lots of traffic noise and smoke smell from controlled burns. Nice space in the house and comfortable beds- but upstairs was so hot we couldn't use one of the bedrooms. Bring your own towels & bath mat. Needs non slip in the tub for older adults. Limited amenities and parking situation is beyond horrible!.

This was the perfect place for 8 women to stay and enjoy our time together while celebrating the wedding of another friend. It was very close to shops and the venue. We walked to the shopping district and enjoyed the weather and the views! The property had plenty of room to gather and to get ready for the special occasion. The stay was hassle-free and had everything we needed.

We found this house in Monument for the same cost as a hotel would have been and on such short notice! I was able to have my family come over and enjoy the hot tub and hang out comfortably! The owners were very responsive to questions over the duration of my stay. 10/10 do recommend. The beds were slightly on the stiff side, but comfortable and certainly not cardboard. Plenty of pillows to chose from! I was also very thankful to be able to wash my laundry before leaving town!

Oven inoperable when we arrived no prior warning, I brought premade casseroles and had ordered groceries I needed the oven for and didn’t get a working oven till halfway through our trip. The grass was 10 plus inches tall when we arrived and was mentioned the first night, it was never mowed so the six grandchildren we had with us didn’t get to play outside the whole trip. Also, the backyard is much smaller than the listing photos show since the converted the garage to another rental and put up another fence. Only one of the three AC units were installed when we arrived, they did send someone over to hook one more up a day or two later. We arrived at 4pm on Sunday right after the cleaners left (they were there when we first drove by at 3:30) all three trash bins were completely full but weren’t taken to the curb for the next morning trash pickup so my husband noticed the trash man coming and rushed them out to the curb so we didn’t have overflowing trash all week. The kitchen didn’t even have a pot big enough to make pasta in for a family of 4 let alone a large group, the pot’s & pans were very lacking for a house that sleeps 14 people. Responses from the host (their team) were slow and many times contradictory to other responses. We had a damage claim for a broken TV and we left three days ago and I can’t get them to fill out their portion of the insurance form so that I can be reimbursed for the amount taken from the security deposit.

The home was located perfectly for what we were doing in Monument. The home allowed for us and our extended family to all have our own rooms with comfort and privacy.
It was clean and ready for us on time. Ryan and Alex were very helpful as we needed to add additional days to our time.

House was very spacious and accommodating. We loved the serenity of Monument and how accessible it is to a "larger city" while still having everything you need within a 5-10 min drive. Neighborhood was quiet, and the nearby park was very cute. Kitchen was stocked w everything we needed, as were the bathrooms and laundry areas. We were very grateful for that. Owners were very communicative, and yet let us enjoy our time and space. We appreciate that as well.

There was popcorn and other snack remnants under the cushions of couch in basement. Food remnants under couch in living room. Sheets had to be brought to the property for the hide a bed. Electric outlet was popped out of the wall in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Fan in the basement bathroom was very dirty. Table in dining room did not seat 14 and there was not another table that could be used so we could eat together at tables. Dining room chairs are metal with no cushion. Seating in 2 common areas was not adequate. Front step has price of concrete missing that could be a trip hazard. There were no cranks to open the windows in the dining room. This could be an excellent home, sadly it has not had the time or attention needed to provide a positive experience for the guests.

The property worked well for our family of 13. All the grown ups had bedrooms and the kids had the bunk room and a pull out sofa. They had a blast playing foosball. We enjoyed the area and the house. Thanks!

Perfection!
The home was amazing! Pictures do not even begin to give an accurate description of the house, it was perfect! Our family of 3 generations had so much fun and we were all able to relax and enjoy the home and views around us. Even the town of Monument is delightful and fun! Lolley's Ice Cream is a must-try! I will definitely be returning to base my Colorado stays from here!

Wonderful home
I would definitely recommend this home. Very cozy and the cleanest home I have stayed in from VRBO. I am big on clean linens and this home had all clean linens. I was impressed. The owner was easy to get a hold of anytime of the day and was very respectful.
