This studio is perfect for the vacationers who wants to spend their time out and about exploring the island and still have a very nice, comfortable place to come home to. It's on the 4th floor of The Island Surf in South Kihei and within walking distance of many shops, deli's, beaches, restaurants, and bars. It looks out towards the east and the beautiful Haleakala volcano. Although I would highly recommend a rental car to explore the island, the studio's close location to many things makes it ideal for those who choose to not rent a car (walking score - 78).
This 240 sq. ft. studio comes with a full bathroom, a beautiful new walk-in tiled shower, a very comfortable queen size bed, AC, ceiling fan, refrigerator, a microwave, 4 cup brew coffee maker, toaster, dishes glass ware and utensils. It has cable TV, Wi-Fi, and USB chargers.
Listen to your favorite music through your mobile device's music apps or library and the Bluetooth Bose Mini Sound speaker.
Included is everything you need for the beach - cooler, ice packs, food keepers, beach chairs, mats, towels, beach umbrellas as well as personal rain umbrellas. The studio is quiet - located on the backside of the complex so it does not get the street noise.
The ocean and beautiful Kalama Park are directly across the street where surfing and stand-up paddle boarding lessons take place. It's the perfect spot for whale watching during season and taking in those spectacular Maui sunsets. Surf boards and bikes can easily be rented from shops on the first floor.
The beautiful sandy Kamaole beaches are a short distance just to the south and continuing all the way to Wailea and Makena, home of world famous golf courses.
The studio is perfect for one or two adults - no children please.

I am sure you are aware of Lahaina and the tragic event of the fire. Lahaina is slowly starting to rebuild but it will take many years. The rest of the west side of the island where Lahaina is located is fully functioning and open for business.
The Governor and Maui Mayor have emphasized that the rest of the island is still open for tourists to come and enjoy. Kihei has been unaffected. Vacationers are welcome to come and enjoy the South/Central and East part of the island that still has many spectacular places and fun things Maui has to offer. Governor Green has been on national TV recently advising that the best thing interested people can do to help the island recover is to come and vacation here and support our local businesses.
Now after a year since the tragic fire, Lahaina has been cleared of the fire debris and the first homes are being rebuilt. New housing projects are underway and the fire victims are beginning to move in.
The studio is located in The Island Surf Condominium and is zoned as Condo/Hotel and as such is NOT subject to any of the efforts to convert short term vacation rentals to long term rentals. You do not have to be concerned at all in making a vacation reservation at this property. Please note that The Island Surf is a NO SMOKING building. There is a designated smoking area in the parking lot.

You get amazing value for the price. We had included beach amenities, the bathroom was great and the bed was comfortable. Easy parking. A lot of dining options nearby. If you want to go to Wailea or Makena beach they are around 10 minutes away with a car.

First off, thank you so much to Cloy for providing us a place during our trip to Maui. Cloy was always attentive and communicative. Every time I had a question, he responded promptly. I never needed ANYTHING as Cloy provided everything from shampoo/soap, coffee maker, a fridge, beach chairs, towels, beach umbrella, and even a portable cooler!! Cloy also leaves a very detailed and simple expectation and rules for guests to follow. Parking is free and accessible. The location is right in Kihei which was very nice as everything was in walking distance or a short drive! 100% recommend Cloy’s place as he was nothing but amazing. Even took delivery of my sunglasses for me! Can’t wait to return next time!

What a neat place to stay. Everything you needed or wanted to do was but a short walk from the unit and the host really went the extra mile to ensure I had an enjoyable stay. The unit had all the things you'd expect to find plus some great "extras" such as foldable beach chairs and other items for spending time just lazing around staring out to sea.

Excellent location, within 2-3 mins to all good trucks and restaurants. Within 3-4 mins drive to all the beaches. You won’t find a studio anywhere which is affordable and is at the right location. Cloy is definitely an amazing host.

Cloy's spot is perfectly situated at the center of Kihei, well within walking distance to restaurants, bars, beaches, and more. The room is minimal but perfect for a couple who is going to spend most of their time enjoying the island (as you should!). The AC was a huge bonus that helped us sleep comfortably in the evenings. Parking was plentiful and secure at night. Overall, we would love to stay at Cloy's place every time we come to Maui!

My girlfriend and I loved this studio. We stayed for 6 nights and used it as a base to explore the island, before spending a few days on a resort. It is definitely small, but it comes very well equipped (beach chairs, umbrella and towels were super useful, we used them everyday!) and you can't beat the location (walking distance to many food options, including this huge food truck park). Parking was super easy and property felt very safe. Cloy is also really nice and communication with him was very easy. Highly recommend this place, would definitely stay again. It was also one of the cheapest options for staying in Kihei.

We loved our stay in Kihei. The room was very clean upon arrival. Checkin was as described and there were no problems. The room is a great size for a short stay. We used the pool and beach gear too and loved that it was available. It was very quiet at night which made sleeping easy. The bed was quite comfortable. The air conditioner was a bit noisy so we used the fan instead and that kept the room just right. Thank you for our wonderful stay in Maui!

I’m not one to write reviews, but I have to give a shout out to Cloy for his studio. I was extra happy upon arrival that there was water stocked in the fridge and ice in the freezer. The bed was clean and came with a soft blanket. Plus there’s extra beach equipment in the closet (chairs, towels, umbrellas, cooler, etc), which I didn’t end up using but it’s nice to have available if needed. I appreciate Cloy for reaching out during my stay, making sure everything went well. Personally, this little studio was more than enough for a solo trip. After a full day of exploring, all I needed was a place to shower and sleep. The location of this building is central to everything. Downstairs there’s a convenience store which I often went to for drinks and snacks. Plus there’s other small shops on the ground floor. Next to the building there’s an alleyway of food trucks, highly recommended checking out the wide selection of eats and treats. Walk across the street to the beach/park at sunrise and catch the sea turtles up on the rocks. Coming from a person who loves walking, everything is in walking distance. Great night life as well. Overall my first trip to Maui was amazing, and I can’t wait to come back and stay here again in the future. Mahalo Cloy

Small studio, no balcony. But great big upgraded shower! Great location, close to nice beaches! Good restaurants near by. Went to Ulua Beach, where was nice big waves to jump on.
The host was very good to us, let us check in at 12, and check out at 12! We stayed here for 4 nights only, to finish off our vacation, because we stayed 7 nights in Lahaina, before this.
The AC unit was very loud, couldn't sleep, so i opened window and turned on fan on slow, then was better. The pillows were great and soft! And the bed was comfortable, but little bit small for our liking. Overall was good. Across the street there is ocean where people learning to ride on waves, but there is no beach to swim. You have to drive 3-5 minutes to the beach. We enjoyed watching sunsets and swimming at Keawakapu Beach and Kamaole Beach I, II, III!

I really enjoyed my stay at Cloy’s place. I traveled solo and found the unit to be a great size and everything I needed to get my vacation started was supplied. He left a starter pack of local Maui coffee and two bottles of water in the fridge.
The fridge was a great size to hold different drinks and left overs. Then there was a microwave to reheat food.
The bathroom was spacious and well supplied also. There is a small hall way going into the bathroom, I was able to store my large suitcase there while on vacation.
The A/C worked well and this is just a great location to get to everything by just walking! Thank you, Cloy. I would definitely come stay again.

Cloy has a great setup in Kihei. It was very convient that he had beach chairs, beach mats and sun umbrella for us to use at the beach. The cooler and freezer pack were also great to use. The shower was large and the bed was comfy. This condo is in a great location to walk to a park across street for sunset. Also, many good restaurants in walking distance. The room had an AC unit, which was great to have at night. AC was really noisy the first night. But, I used his vacuum to clean out the dust from the air intake slots on the sides. This cut the noise by about half. I told Cloy he should provide earplugs for guests to sleep. He was very responsive to all messages. Overall, I'd definitely recommend his place on Maui. Great value for the price, compared to other options

I will begin by saying that this studio is in the perfect location, within walking distance of beaches, restaurants, parks, and food trucks. Cloy, the host, has been amazing since we booked this place until we checked out. He did surprise us with free vouchers for a hula show that took place in the South Maui Gardens which is a 2-minute walk from the property. The fact that the studio provided a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, and an umbrella, was a huge plus for us. We never had to think about renting anything for a beach day, or a picnic, Cloy provided everything. We had an amazing stay!

This was such a nice little spot for me and my wife on our honeymoon! It was a GREAT location, right next to the beach and by a lot of great food options! About The Host:
Cloy was a wonderful host who always messaged me right away. When we had issues with checking in, Cloy met us in person and provided us with a different check in number. He asked when we were leaving to give us a heads up about the airport and how busy it would be during a specific time frame. He asked how we were doing and was very polite.
About The Place:
Small place perfect for two people. If you’re looking for a place that is reasonable in price, location (walking distance to food truck, beach, park, etc.), and clean, this is the place for you. Additionally, the stores and food places close at 9PM vs in other locations, restaurants close at 8PM. You have access to a TV with cable/ on demand, mini fridge with freezer, microwave and utensils/ plates/ cups as well as AC.
My husband and I would absolutely come back to the exact place again. Highly recommend!

Cloy's studio was excellent and had so many little amenities that made our stay so wonderful. Highlights include beach chairs, beach umbrella, tupperwares (!), plates, knives, etc. This is a great place to stay if you're looking to explore most of the day and come back to a nice studio to shower, sleep, relax.
In addition, this area around Kihei is super great for that small-town feeling; lots of food everywhere with a little night-life without being overwhelming and has a really cool park right across the street! Although do be warned - there are a few homeless folks there.

Cloy was an awesome host. Easy to communicate with and everything was exactly as described. This was a perfect place to stay if you plan to be out and about most of the day.
