About this house rental
Skin and Bones are located at the far east end of Galveston Island - 4 large bedrooms with 3.5 baths - newer construction. She's a skin doctor, he's a bone doctor - welcome to Skin & Bones. The home is located in the gated community of The Preserve at Grand Beach Galveston. Skin and Bones will accommodate up to 10 guests and features two decks for a full view of the East end of Galveston Island. Guests are a short bike ride away from the historic Strand and all that East Beach has to offer. This beauty has an open floor plan with a large, fenced yard.
The open concept living/dining/kitchen area has great flow where the family may enjoy relaxing, playing games at the large dining table, and meal preparation in this well-appointed modern kitchen. The fourth bedroom is located on the first level of the home and is two twin bunks (sleeps 4) which has a full bath. The half bath is also located on the first level of the home. The other three bedrooms are upstairs (2nd floor). The primary bedroom has a queen bed with an en-suite bath featuring a separate tub and step-in shower and a walk-out deck for morning coffee while guests watch as the ships pull in and out of Galveston harbor. The second and third bedrooms each have a queen bed and share a jack-and-jill bath. They are also located on the second floor of the home.

This home has ample entertainment opportunities, close to the beach, and has gorgeous views. Events, parties, or guests attending prom are prohibited at this home. Oftentimes additional TVs are available for guests wanting to hook up their own game systems or streaming devices.
All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.
EXTENDED STAYS
Monthly rentals are considered in the off-season - Winter Texans, snowbirds, retirees, corporate stays, medical professionals, university students, and plant workers are welcome. Extended stays or monthly rentals require a stay of 30+ nights, and these reservations are tax exempt. This is an immediate savings of 15%! Although most extended stay reservations are between the middle of November through February, extended stays may be considered anytime between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Extended stay reservations may not be placed online, but a Ryson Vacation Planner would love to answer any questions you may have and help you reserve your extended stay.

Overall was a good stay!! The only downside was the mosquitoes were terrible, couldn’t walk out of the house without being swarmed by them.

We survived hurricanes Beryl!!
Great home, so we decided to weather the storm. According to the locals the East side is less likely to flood and they were correct.
Open concept main floor made for great family time. Large decks and patios. Big tv and plenty of seating area to gather. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in. The bunk room downstairs was perfect for the kids. It has its own bathroom. The main floor also has a 1/2 bath for guests or for those who didn’t want to go upstairs. The three bedrooms upstairs were comfortable. The master suite has a great bathroom and deck. All rooms had great closets. Hardwoods throughout the house. Cold air conditioning!
Just clean and welcoming.
Close enough to get to everything and just far enough to escape traffic and crowds. The gated community limited access and thus, the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet.
We lost power due to the storm and had to cut of trip short, but will definitely comeback should our travels take us to Galveston again.

Beautiful house and location…annoying ants and mosquitos!
Beautiful home inside and out and amazing location! Lots of room, perfect fit for our family! Would have enjoyed our stay a lot more without the ants inside the house the entire stay. We called the rental company and they delivered a big bottle of ant spray with no sprayer. I called again and the next day they delivered a can of raid and some bait that takes 48 hrs to 2 weeks to work per google. Everything was left outside the door. The ants started in living room the first night so we couldn’t even enjoy the furniture. They were on the couch. They then made their way to kitchen counters and downstairs bedroom. I feel like you should have come inside to get rid of them. Outside the mosquitos were HORRIBLE. Take tons of off. they are huge. I would recommend something is sprayed or some type of mosquito bait is placed outside by rental company! I would definitely stay here again if they got the ants and mosquitos under control but until then would prob find another home in same area.

Great house! Bug bugs!
The house was beautiful, nice, clean, provided enough amenities for our little family. We mainly ordered food and brought snack for our kids. The proximity to the beach was great! There was a bug problem. Inside under the living room rug there were a lot of ants and one bit one of my kids on the toe. Outside was mosquito land! We live in Texas and are familiar with mosquitoes but these were massive and there were tons of them. You could hardly get outside to spray bug spray and our Off that we brought didn’t do enough. Other houses in the neighborhood didn’t seem to have the issue as bad so I’m guessing they get treatment for them, but trying to keep our kids from being mosquito food was hard! That being said we would come back we would just be better prepared for the bugs!

Getaway
We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful home. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The washing machine broke right before we got there, but the management company refunded us for the inconvenience. The only thing that was frustrating were the chairs on the deck. They are so low that you can’t see over the porch railing to look at the ocean. It would have been nice to have higher chairs like the neighbors. Overall, my family enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.

The family had a wonderful visit. The beach house is a short walk to the beach and short drive to everything Galveston. We wanted a house close to restaurants and attractions, but also private and close to the beach. Win, win!

Skin and Bones was just what we needed!
Two families with 4 teenage boys enjoyed every bit of our stay. The house was exactly as described. Very clean and the short walk to the beach was such a treat. We played cards, made fresh seafood, and watched so much basketball! March Madness was the backdrop to our stay. Thank you for sharing your home. We enjoyed everything about it.

Family time with NO SLEEP!!!
The house was great! But BIG GLITCH....
Next door was PARTY CENTRAL! Next door has a back gate where they were letting people into a Very loud party that started at midnight both Friday & Saturday nights! Music blasting! Friday nights ended in a fist fight with screaming at 2:30 am. Saturday night’s party ended Sunday morning at 5:00am when someone was badly injured .... we finally called the police!
They hid quietly & police could not enter but it ended the party. One of us went into the house Friday night at 12:30 & turned down the music, saying we have a baby! (Which we did) We met the nice owner on Sunday, and we told him, back gate is the culprit. It seems to be the only house that has one. Sorry to owners of Skin & Bones, but I would never rent this place again for reasons of party house next door! We really felt sorry for the young couple with 2 babies checking into that house the next day..... with COVID-19, they would easily catch it, There must have been 50-75 people in that house! The parking lot in back was full! All going into that gate!!!!!!! Crazy!!!!! And so illegal!
