This home is located only three lots back from the ocean, an easy 300-foot walk to the beach, with close proximity to the Rodanthe fishing pier. Sit on the large well-furnished middle deck with plenty of room to stretch out and catch some rays or curl up with a book and enjoy some peace and quiet. With a well-equipped kitchen, a large dining room table that seats 10, and three seats at the breakfast bar, this is perfect for those memorable family dinners and game nights! Long day at the beach? Wash off by the pool in one of the two outdoor showers before jumping in the hot tub and enjoying a beautiful sunset. Relax in the family room with a 55-inch HDTV and Blu-ray player, surround sound with free WiFi, a queen sleeper sofa, a wet bar, and a microwave, and enough room for your whole party to spread out! A grand total of six TVs, six DVD Players, a stereo/CD player, and surround sound are included in this home. Great views but be prepared for a lot of stairs. House has very easy beach access and was well furnished.

This property had the best of both worlds...walking distance to the beach and availability of a private pool and hot tub. There was comfortable deck furniture and there was ample space for our group of 6 adults and two children. Something to be aware of is that the closest major grocery store is over a half hour away. The shag carpet is showing wear and hid thistles which were painful when stepped on. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We loved the room and privacy of each of the bedrooms- we loved the location of the house - it was perfect few steps to beach and located between Hatteras and Nags Head if you want to venture out and explore. Pool and hot tub well maintained and clean. Love the wrap around porches on a top row levels and stairs inside and out leading to each floor!. Just a great house

Very close to beach- water views out almost every window. This is our 2nd stay here and we’ll probably be back soon especially if some needed updates are done. Would have given 5 stars if we didn’t have to clean the entire house when we arrived.

We all had a great time and stay at this property. It was close to beach . If you have problems with steps this is isn’t the place for you . The kitchen, dining area and living room are on the third floor . There’s a couch and 2 chair on the first floor which is one story up . It worked for us .

So close to the beach, and the views are phenomenal. Lots of stairs, so if you have bad knees this is not the house for you! The kitchen was very well appointed.The shag carpet throughout was a real negative for us. Even though I’m sure it was vacuumed thoroughly, it felt dirty and was full of hidden thistles brought in from outside that, if stepped on with bare feed, were super painful. Like stepping in a pin. Very family friendly otherwise, but we will look for another house for next year.

Our family absolutely loved Sunsets in Rodanthe. The views and the sounds of the ocean waves were incredible. You felt like you were beachfront. The short walk to the beach was so simple. The house it self was like moving into a new house as everything was clean and fresh. The refreshing and crystal clean pool plus hot tub were an extra plus everyday in the afternoon. Would be hard to rent another home in the future as we would miss this marvelous house. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.

This was not the first time we have booked Sunsets in Rodanthe. The last time was 2012. I have stayed in other homes since then but nothing compares to this home. Perfect location with a perfect view. The top balcony facing the ocean is how I started and finished my day. My family loves the easy access to the beach and the pier.

We had lots of fun staying at this house in Buxton. The beach was best at low tide in the morning around 8 and again in the late afternoon. Everyone was so friendly and the beach was spacious and not crowded. We loved the lighthouse being right there which is one of the reasons that the beach was quiet. The neighborhood had a wonderful family friendly feel as well as the beach. We could walk or bike to the beach in just minutes. We found that body boards were loads of fun and maybe we will try the surf boards next time. Hopefully we will be able to go again next year. The amenities, to include beds made and linens provided, is a primary feature we look for in our selection of a home for the week. We also enjoyed the opportunity to use VayK Rentals as part of our package. Dakota Dunes 78 far exceeded our expectations and provided a very memorable family vacation for us! Thank you!! Dakota Dunes 78 was perfect for our family vacation of 10! The Jack and Jill bathrooms provided the best situation for the young family members to be near their parents, all while giving them space. The kitchen, dining and living rooms had great amenities, with labeled switches and remotes, for us to share while cooking meals. The availability of NETFLIX was a big hit! The bedrooms were spacious; and, the outside deck and pool areas had enough comfortable furniture for everyone!
