About this house rental
The restaurants, shops and activities of Bar Harbor are just steps away! You’ll have our our 3,000 square foot, 5-bedroom, 4 bathroom historic house to use as a home base while you explore downtown and Acadia National Park. Off-street parking for four vehicles is included. There is ample outdoor space for dining, lawn games or relaxing on the porch. Walk to everything, including grocery stores, park shuttles, the Marina, bars/restaurants and anything else on your Bar Harbor bucket list!
This 3-story circa 1903 home has been lovingly maintained over the years. Original woodwork and built-ins blend with modern furnishings and decor to make a comfortable space with a classy, relaxed vibe.
First Floor: Living room, sitting area, dining room (seats up to 12 with table fully expanded), wetbar/coffee bar, kitchen with island seating
Second Floor: Master (king) bedroom with en-suite bath and sitting area, queen bedroom with en-suite bath, king bedroom and separate full bath
Third floor: King bedroom, Bedroom with two double beds, full bathroom and children’s books/toys
The entire house, basement and outdoor areas are accessible to guests. There is a small owners closet in the basement that is not accessible to guests.
**Please note, there are no bathrooms on the first floor of the house. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the second or third floors.**
Please, no pets except for service animals. Sorry, no exceptions.
Located right in the heart of downtown, our house is on a street once referred to as “Mistress Row” or “Rotten Row,” due to it's reputation for housing J.P Morgan’s mistresses while his yacht was anchored in town. It is a peaceful residential street, but is within a few blocks of all of the hustle and bustle of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, whale watching, shopping grocery stores and more.
Within three blocks are an organic grocery store- A&B Naturals and Hannaford's (large chain grocery store) with everything you could need for your stay. This is the perfect location if you want to do most of your sight-seeing by foot, as you can easily leave your car and either walk to destinations or walk to a shuttle stop to visit points further out.
The location is perfect for walking to explore downtown. Everything Bar Harbor offers that is accessible by foot is within about 0.5 miles/1 km from the house.
The Island Explorer is a free shuttle run by L.L. Bean that has stops located at multiple areas in Acadia National Park and also Bar Harbor, including a stop at the Village Green (approximately 5 min walk from the house).

Great house and great location! The house was well stocked and had everything we needed!

Great location with everything in walking distance. The house is spacious and comfortable. Everything is there that you could possibly need! Everything for cooking, toys for kids, beach gear and towels. The host and property manager are very responsive to all requests. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor and the house was perfect. We had nine people and there was plenty of room with everything we needed. The location of the house could not have been better. Short 2 minute walk to town. Highly recommend this property and Bar Harbor.

This was a wonderful house for our extended family to spend a week together in Bar Harbor. It was exactly as described and was fully stocked from kitchen amenities to beach towels. The location on a quiet side street was perfect with everything walkable in town plus Acadia was a short car ride away. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again.

The house worked great for our family of 5. Walking distance to literally anything Bar Harbor has to offer. The check in process was seamless and the manager was easily available for questions. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay in Bar Harbor with a large family!

Fantastic location, house is lovely, walked everywhere we wanted to go other than Acadia and that was a very short drive. Bar Harbor shops and restaurants were enjoyed by all.
First trip to Maine for us, we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this property!

The location was wonderful, walking distance to everything including the wedding venue (Bar Harbor Inn). We have rented in other nice spots before but the owners provided many small amenities that you tend to forget about until you need them. I could say a thousand more things and it still would not be enough. Very much worth it. (And the property manager was incredibly responsive). Thank you for adding to a wonderful wedding / vacation. The Hebb’s and newly wedded Brower’s.

Stayed here with my sons and my brothers and their sons. Perfect spot to hike during the day and then unwind and walk to dinner downtown at night. Tons of beds and open living area to gather. Clean and well stocked

Large, clean, extremely well stocked home with the best location possible. Can walk downtown to all stores/restaurants/waterfront within minutes and very short drive to entrance to Acadia. Could not have been more convenient in every way.

College roommate reunion with spouses!
Parking is challenging in Bar Harbor so the 3 parking spaces were priceless. We cooked in the amazing kitchen several times which allowed our large group to visit around the dining table without the bother, noise and expense of restaurants. However, many fine places to eat and shopping within 10 minute walk. Rented bikes at Bar Harbor bike shop just a short walk away. We highly recommend a bike ride (e-bikes!) on the carriage roads. Also, highly recommend the Island Explorer to get around the island.
Owner responded quickly to address our questions.

This is an outstanding home in Bar Harbor! The host is awesome and easy to communicate with before and during your stay. The home is located within walking distance of many stores and restaurants and is a short drive from Acadia National Park. Acadia has many trails to explore and fun things to see and experience! Be sure to visit this home, you will not be disappointed!

This house was amazing! The location was perfect to walk to restaurants and shops in town. Quick drive to Acadia for hiking. The house is very well stocked. We used water bottles and a small cooler provided for picnic lunches in Acadia. The owner and property manager were easy to get ahold of and quick to respond. Would definitely recommend staying here!

This was the perfect home for our family while we celebrated my parent's 50th anniversary. The house was close to everything! The added bonus of parking as well as the outdoor space for cooking dinner at home was icing on the cake. The quaint front porch was enjoyed every morning and evening. We can't wait to come back!

This house rates high on all the basics— cleanliness, bedroom/bath combinations, bed choices, kitchen appliances, etc. But it rates “spectacular on two items. First is location. It’s perfect. Less than a ten minute walk to just about every commercial entity in town but far enough away to avoid the noise. Second is provisioning. We’ve rented more than two dozen houses over a period of years and we’ve never seen anything that comes close. Every type of dish, cooking utensil, bathroom item, etc. you’d ever hope for plus things you wouldn’t expect—coffee, spices, even a bottle of wine. Highly recommend.

Our family had the best stay in this lovely home! It was extremely homey, clean, and all around perfect. The house was fully stocked with anything that you could possibly need. We especially loved the big front porch and outdoor area to gather as a family after a day of exploring. The property manager was very available, helpful, and checked in multiple times to ensure that all of our needs were met. We hope to visit Bar Harbor and stay in this home again one day!

We really enjoyed our four days at this beautiful old house. It was been tastefully and fully updated, but the charm persists. We were a 2 to 10 minute walk from everything in Bar Harbor, and a short car ride to the various sites in Acadia National Park. The hosts were very pleasant the few times we interacted, including allowing us to check-in a couple of hours early. We loved the house, and will hopefully stay again in the future.

Our family traveled to Bar Harbor to celebrate the graduation of our beloved first born from College of the Atlantic. The home was exquisite and beyond our expectations. I love to cook and was blown away by the kitchen—everything I needed was on hand, which is usually not the case with rentals. The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and ideal for a family gathering. We have decided to make it an annual event. 5 stars all around! Thanks for having us.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days and the entire experience was fantastic. Not only was the check-in/check-out process explained in detail, the house was very clean and full of nice amenities. We had a large party of 9 and we all fit comfortably. By far the best feature of the property is it's location. Less than a 5 min walk to the downtown Bar Harbor area simply can't beat. We were worried it might be busy and loud outside given how close it was to town but the house is on a very quiet side street so that was not an issue at all. All in all the house was perfect for a large group to enjoy Bar Harbor without needing to worry about parking. Highly reccommend!

My family stayed here for my wedding and fell in LOVE with the place. Plenty of space for everyone, clean, comfortable, great location, and amazing owner and property management. Kristen and her team were communicative, friendly, and very accommodating, not to mention so nice!! They left the sweetest gift for us knowing we were in town for our wedding. 100% will return and cannot wait to do so!

Fabulous, warm, cozy home located within walking distance to everything you need in Bar Harbor. The parking was a plus! Clean with lots of space for 6 adults and we could have invited more family.

This beautiful, historical home was perfect for our group of eight (it could actually accommodate many more). Every room was comfortable and cozy, as well as functional. The location was within walking distance to all of our favorite Bar Harbor restaurants and all the sites in town. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

We spent a few days here with a group of friends. The 10 of us were very comfortable- so many places to sit and relax. Perfect location- easy walk to waterfront and shops and restaurants. Home was cozy and full of charm. Kitchen and baths well-equipped. Highly recommend.

Thank you for thinking of everything we could possibly need…and then some! We had an amazing time and didn’t have to spend a minute worrying about the house (like I do when I’m home). You set us up for true success and what turned out to be the perfect week in Bar Harbor.

Awesome house!!
I cannot say enough about this home! It was set up perfectly a very nicely stocked kitchen and plenty of room for our party of 10. The beds/sheets and covers were incredibly comfortable. It was super clean and the proximity to town was perfect! It is on a one-way street which makes it nice, so not a whole lot of traffic! Just foot traffic because people are walking into town! It was quiet as well. When we go back to Bar Harbor we will absolutely rent this house again! Kristen was amazing and super attentive! Thank you thank you so much!! P.S. the history on the home is super cool!!

Perfect location
This house is a find for sure. Kristen and her property manager offer a gem in bar harbor. The beautiful and historic home is decorated and updated with a comfortable set up. The kitchen is well equipped beyond what we actually used. The front porch is so charming, like that from a movie. Our favorite part is the addition of club 17 with the outdoor fire table and yard games. A grill is available for cooking outdoors. Oh and the garden full of flowers was dreamy too. If you decide, all the restaurants, shops, sand bar, shore path are literally very short and convenient walk away. Then Acadia National Park entrances were no further than a 5-10 min drive. I would suggest that you book the house with a few friends or family members. The house is quite large and well suited for this type of group. It won’t disappoint.
