About this cabin rental

“Cast Iron Moose” is a BRAND NEW BUILD in the heart of Island Park with AIR CONDITIONING! Just installed a 220 Level II electric vehicle charger on the garage for guests to use (you'll need to bring your own adapter)! Located in the Golf Course Community, the house is just walking distance to golfing, tennis courts, grocery stores and amazing views. Not only is the house just 25 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone, but you can also take off right from the front door to hundreds of miles of snowmobile and ATV trails - bring your own or rent some in town just across the main highway! It is also a short drive to several restaurants and endless attractions including Yellowstone Theater, Henrys Lake State Park, Macks Inn, Mesa Falls and more. After a fun-filled day of adventures, be sure to save some time to gather around the kitchen for a home cooked meal in our fully stocked kitchen whilst planning tomorrow's day of exploring. Then finish off the night with a dip in the hot tub. This home is perfect for building traditions and memories for many years to come!

PLEASE NOTE: There is an apartment below the main house (not included with the rental). There is no access from the apartment to the house and is treated as a separate living space completely. Because of the apartment below, there is a full flight of stairs that you will need to climb in order to access the home. This home is NOT for guests with mobility challenges.

ROADS: This home is in a mountain town. As such, you can expect dirt roads, potholes (due to things like traffic and rain), and slow speed limits. We recommend driving appropriate vehicles for the conditions.

WINTER: 4 WHEEL DRIVE, SNOW TIRES, AND HIGH GROUND CLEARANCE RECOMMENDED IN SNOWY CONDITIONS.

~ YELLOWSTONE West Entrance: About a 25 minute drive (depending on traffic)
~ FISHING: Henry's Lake for fishing, boating, and other water activities is about a 12 minute drive (depending on traffic). Island Park Reservoir is also close by, only about a 30 minute drive (depending on traffic as well as where you want to cast from!)
~ GROCERIES: The nearest grocery store, Robins Roost, is about a 3 minute drive
~ PARKING: This home has a large driveway. We estimate a 24 ft trailer (unhooked) or 3 cars wide and 2 cars deep will fit.
~ SNOWMOBILING/ ATVs: Access to hundreds of miles of trails right from the front door
~ LOCATION: This home is pinpointed on the map. Zoom in/out and left/right to understand exact location

When first arriving we were impressed and overall the house is beautiful. It’s spacious in the living area and kitchen which makes for nice hangout with larger families. The seating in the living room was comfortable and it’s very nicely decorated and new looking.the kitchen had everything we needed and the laundry room had detergent. The drawbacks I struggled with were how uncomfortable the beds were and especially how hot the upstairs rooms got which is were the main “master” king room was. When entering the house on arrival it was super warm despite it being only in the 50’s outisideThe upstairs king bed appeared to have been broken previously and it was held up by wood pieces under it. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever been in, and we travel a lot. It’s a metal bed, and was loud just to get in and out off, it would wake up my baby. The pillows were also very uncomfortable and the quantity of pillows lacked. There was lots of decorative pillows, but I don’t know if those are washed after each guest visit, nor would they have been comfortable anyway to sleep on. It was terribly hot. The thermostat says not to touch, but it was set way too high and we were all so hot. I bumped the temp down and even that didn’t help. I hardly slept. Ceiling fan was super loud and squeaky. The king bed was almost against the wall so person on one side had to crawl off bed from the front. Hot tub was off and cold when we arrived which took a day to heat up after that.

The location was great for all the activities we enjoyed, river rafting and the National Parks in the area. The home was well equipped with all that you need! The bedrooms were comfortable, and the grandkids really enjoyed the bunk bed loft!! The bag toss game was a big hit for the whole family too!! Would stay again in the future!! Ted & Cindy

We loved this cabin!! People! The sofa was amazing!! It could probably fit 20 people on it! We loved being able to spread out and still be comfy. But let’s not forget all the other amenities… Stocked kitchen, nice bedding, beautiful furnishings and decor and close to TONS of trails and a grocery market. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We stayed with our family and it was amazing. We had a minor issue the first day and they sent maintenance immediately and fixed it right away! The snow mobile rental place right past the house was the best! If you’re new to the area and don’t want to spend so much money just to stay in Jackson Hole this place is perfect! Definitely book Yellowstone tour ahead of your trip. They were booked up when we got there. It turned out fine though because the trails the snow mobile company recommended were awesome! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home and in a very quiet neighborhood. Great location to launch out on daily adventures in the Yellowstone region. Accommodations were very excellent. Would love to stay again in the future.

We loved our stay. We are very picky and found nothing wanting on this property. All the appliances were new and plentiful. We were even surprised to find a waffle maker and kitchen aide. We enjoyed banana chocolate chip waffles sitting around the kitchen island which is a butcher block counter, it was perfect.

Nice, clean, modern, it sleeps 14, we had 7 people and not enough bathrooms. Lacks the knockout panoramic views you look for in the mountains. It was expensive, but we knew that going in.

The property is very nice and clean. It is big enough for our group of 11 adults. I give them overall 5 stars. It is a little bit far from yellowstone. 25 mins drive. That really didnt bother us. Ialso, recommend an after hours contact info just in case tenants/renters needed something. Maybe a dedicated phone number rather than email. Still, i give them an overall 5 stars. I will highly recommend this property is you are going to yellowstone
