About this house rental

Sociable living, dining and entertaining with high speed internet, hardwood floors and a 20 x 25ft deck with gas grill, firepit and comfy seating looking out onto private woodland.

Perfect for family gatherings and reunions or somewhere to chill if you or your loved ones are visiting UNC or Duke colleges or medical facilities.

The house is set in a quiet cul-de-sac in a safe, settled neighborhood.

The front door opens into an open plan living, eating and dining space. The large living room has an L-shaped sofa, single recliner and an occasional chair. The room has a 44" TV with Spectrum high speed internet and a Roku streaming stick.

There is a breakfast bar with seating for two and a dining area that is hidden from the living area, but open to the kitchen, that seats 6. The dining area overlooks the large wooden deck and has views of the woodland. If you're up early you may see the deer that live there.

The kitchen is equipped with everything that you might need for cooking and baking. There is a utility area with tumble dryer and washing machine and is right next to the back door that gives you access to the deck with grill, firepit, dining table and chairs and two rattan sun loungers.

Off the living area is a corridor leading to the family bathroom and three bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and faces the deck and woodland. The other two bedrooms face the front garden. The largest of these bedrooms has a queen sized bed and a sofa that converts to a twin sized bed. The smallest of the bedrooms has a full/double bed, desk and chair, 32" TV with Roku stick, books and games.

Each bathroom is stocked with Terra Pure paraben-free soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

Downtown Durham and Duke Hospital and campus are a 10 minute drive away.

The house smelled of mold and mildew. We had to leave after two days and get a hotel for the final two days. After contacting the host she said that she sent a cleaning crew out and they claimed that there was no problems with the house. Rent at your own risk!

We were in town for the Man City vs Celtic game. This home was in a very quiet area and conveniently located to many areas of interest. The home owner was very accessible and responded to minor concerns quickly.

We enjoyed Durham Retreat. It was a very hot week. The air conditioning was wonderful. The beds and bathrooms were wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked and very comfortable for 5 of us. We really enjoyed the living room. There is a large swivel chair that everyone loved, even our little dog. They neighborhood was quiet and seemed very safe. We had a great time. Oh we even did yoga on the deck!! Too hot to sit out there.

The home was well appointed with everything we needed for a very comfortable 4 night visit. We were in a good location to visit the surrounding area and had easy access to both Durham and Chapel Hill. The backyard is serene with a wonderful deck to relax on. The bedrooms were spacious for our family of four and we very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

I stayed here for approximately 1 month and really enjoyed my stay. It had everything I needed for a long term stay and was very comfortable. The neighborhood felt safe. The host was really friendly and also offered a free cleaning during my stay since I was there for so long. Would recommend!

You will not be disappointed with your stay here. The host Moira was fantastic. She was in touch with us throughout the entire process. Her home is lovely. It’s very quaint, comfortable cozy. You will feel right at home.

The host Moyra was very responsive and attentive. My family loves the house and the overall aesthetic. We were able to gather. The kitchen was very well stocked so we were able to cook meals with ease, she thought of everything. The beds were very comfortable and the home felt very cozy. It was also kid friendly so it wasn't stressful have a 1 year old there, there was even a highchair for us to use which was a welcomed surprise. Would definitely recommend this listing for families.

My employees and I had a wonderful stay while working at Duke University. 10 minute drive to campus, in a quiet nice neighborhood. The home was very well decorated and by the far the best stocked home we’ve stayed in with all the utensils and cooking supplies we could have needed.

I can't say enough good things about our experience. We came into town to host an intimate baby shower for my daughter. Moyra was so responsive and accommodating. She did so many things to make our stay enjoyable. The house has so many nice touches, like the tea and coffee set-up, the bathroom toiletries and large plush towels. All the little things that add up to so much. The instructions were super clear and she also had many helpful suggestions. I was even able to meet one of her neighbors who was very kind. I'm super picky and I was really impressed! She earns her rating!

I have stayed at quite a few places and this home was as close to feeling like it was my home as I have ever experienced. Comfortably furnished with all the little things needed everyday. The outdoor deck and fire pit was a double bonus. Can’t wait to come back again. Dennis

I stay at homeshares all the time, and this property was one of my favorites. Abnormally clean, even the grill outside, which is rare. I cooked most meals there and there were plenty of dishes and implements. Location is excellent if you need I-85, which is an easy drive to CH or Hillsborough. The Starbucks also is walkable. Highly recommend!

We have been very pleased with our five nights stay, everything was perfect and it just felt like home. The house is clean and nice, the beds are very comfortable, the Kichen has everything you need including olive oil, spices ….thank you for being considerate and helping.

This home was immaculate. We loved the furnishings. Plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, and a back deck that wonderful. Actually saw deer moving though the woods, just beyond the deck a few times. Would absolutely stay here again!

Fabulous property, exactly as described. Clean, tidy and with all the facilities we needed. Lots of attention to detail. Peaceful, quiet area; we enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife. Location great - easy to explore the Durham area and handy shops to pick up supplies. All in all a lovely place to finish our holiday in. Heartily recommend.

Really cute and quaint house! My parents, grandmother and I rented it for my brother’s wedding weekend and we all really enjoyed it. Having the kitchen was clutch and the backyard was nice and private. Moyra was TERRIFIC! Very responsive and had clearly thought through all the things we might need while traveling. Recommend!

This spot was a true gem. Moyra thought of everything and it was all so nice and new. We came into town for Duke graduation and the location of this house was perfect to get to campus, downtown, and off campus housing. Check in process was very easy and our favorite part was the amazing deck. We got to celebrate as a family in the comfort of a nice home. Thank you Moyra for everything!
