Welcome to Eastlake - A Historical Gem in the Heart of Seattle

Nestled on the eastern shores of Lake Union, Eastlake stands as one of Seattle's oldest and most distinctive neighborhoods. With a rich history dating back to the 1890s, Eastlake combines the charm of its past with the vibrancy of modern urban living.

A Storied Past:
Eastlake began shaping its identity in the late 19th century. The establishment of Seward School in 1893 and the introduction of streetcar lines significantly boosted its appeal as a residential area. The opening of the University Bridge in 1919 further facilitated travel, enhancing Eastlake's allure as a streetcar neighborhood brimming with small homes, apartments, and bustling local businesses.

From Boeing's Birthplace to a Booming Community:
Eastlake's lakeside location fostered industrial growth, including Boeing's first factory at the foot of Roanoke Street. This industrial era saw Eastlake evolve into a lively mix of residential spaces and commercial hubs. The construction of the I-5 freeway in 1962 redefined Eastlake, setting its eastern boundary and reshaping the neighborhood's landscape and community dynamics.

A Vibrant Urban Village:
Today, Eastlake is a testament to community resilience and revitalization. Efforts in the 1970s to conserve the neighborhood's unique character led to the adoption of the Eastlake Neighborhood Plan in 1999. This plan, crafted by local residents and stakeholders, reflects a collective commitment to preserving the neighborhood's heritage and charm.

An Eclectic Mix of Old and New:
Eastlake is a delightful blend of houseboats, historic apartments, and modern residences, along with a variety of businesses. The neighborhood's architectural diversity, from classic apartments dating back to the early 20th century to contemporary homes, adds to its unique character.

A Neighborhood of Parks and Recreation:
Eastlake boasts numerous street-end parks, offering serene lakefront spots perfect for relaxation. The neighborhood's proximity to Rogers Playfield and other local parks, part of the Olmsteds’ 1910 parks plan, provides ample green spaces for outdoor activities.

Ideal for Business and Family Travelers:
For business travelers, Eastlake offers a peaceful yet connected environment, with easy access to downtown Seattle and major business districts. Families will love the neighborhood's friendly atmosphere and the variety of local shops, cafes, and restaurants along Eastlake Avenue.

Unmatched Accessibility:
Eastlake's excellent location ensures that you're never far from Seattle's top attractions. Whether you're exploring the city's rich culture or attending business meetings, Eastlake's central position and great public transit options make it an ideal base.

Location was great. The view from the top balcony was steller. There was no paper towels or kleenex. They were short on towels but rectified this quickly for us. Many light bulbs were burnt out and the main bathroom tub would not drain. Overall if these few things are addressed I would recommend this place

A wonderful trip to Seattle clouded by dreary management and ownership. We rented this tremendous (and expensive) location wanting a place to stage a special trip to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. Proximate to all Seattle has to offer, we loved the idea of sitting on the roof and enjoying the 365 degree sweeping view. Plenty of beds and an appearance of upscale, this rental seemed perfect. Alas this was not the case. Upon arriving we were given a door code, but the wrong code. Fortunately another code they said would not work did, and we entered the spacious unit. So far so good...but then we noticed dirty dishes. A negligent housekeeper? A quick trip upstairs provided the answer. NO HOUSEKEEPER! Just dirty beds and linen...in every room! Towels on the floor, no TP, etc. We contacted the property manager...and after several calls got someone. There had been a mixup...confusion in their system...we needed to exit the building until they could get it cleaned. After hauling all our luggage in, this seemed a bit outrageous. Up and down steps...LOTS of steps. They decided to "accommodate us" by letting us leave the luggage in a corner that wouldn't interfere with the housekeeping. But we could not stay! They would be in touch. So we shopped, and shopped, and never heard back. Tired of shopping we headed back to the unit...after all we were paying for the place...maybe we could hang out on the roof and look at the pretty boats? The housekeepers were still there...and they were cleaning in a jiffy! (we had to rewash things). And then the property manager told us they were sorry and that they would make a sizable adjustment...don't you worry! The reason I waited so long to review this place is that I was waiting for the adjustment...I’m still waiting. Oh, I have gotten several prompt emails back of how they have reached out to the ownership and are awaiting their reply, but never once an email delivering on their promise. So here is the rest of the review in a nutshell. Our stay also involved not enough towels, a plugged toilet, cheap furniture and uncomfortable beds that “look nice” in pictures, a sparsely furnished roof with a junky deflated portable hot tub, and a significant parking problem that again the manager didn’t handle (so we parked on the street and hoped not to get towed). Management promised the moon but didn't deliver. They didn't fix problems or act in good faith. They do have an excellent view.

My friends and I had a nice stay at this Eastlake property. It is in a great area of Seattle and seemed central to all the things we wanted to do. It has amazing views from the terrace. The house has all things you may need for a comfortable stay. We were missing some bath towels but after some quick communication with the hosts, the issue was rectified. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

The property was located close to a lot of the attractions we had planned to do. Parking is an issue, but we were lucky and found a public parking area one street down from Franklin Avenue and that took care of the extra vehicle we had and needed for 8 people. It needs some additional kitchen supplies if you plan to do any cooking. The first few days it was in the low 90 degree range, so the unit was hot on the bedroom floors that had no air. We slept okay at night because the windows opened and night temperatures were much lower. All-in-all, a very nice place! The roof top view was amazing! I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place.

Beautiful views and great location!
The townhouse was centrally located and very easy to navigate from in the city. The owners communicated very well. The view from the top floor is unreal. Spectacular.
