We love the location and the rental is very nice and fully stocked with everything we need.The only complaints we are he living room furniture. The sofas are very uncomfortable and worn out it’s difficult to sit on them especially if you have back and knee problems. And the TV channels are not good at all. We couldn’t even get local news!

We LOVED staying at Josie’s for the week! Never turned on the tv since there is so much to do! And all the details they put into their guests experience from having indoor and outdoor games, beach chairs, the adored porch bed which is great for afternoon naps, and the welcome bag! We LOVE Chincoteague and have for many years, this house will be one we stay in again for sure! The only suggestion is to upgrade the queen mattress. Aside from that everything was wonderful and felt like home.

This beachy bungalow is perfect. We have stayed in this vacation home year after year. Sometime staying multiple weeks a year. It’s definitely our favorite. It’s clean and it’s pet friendly. The homeowner really appreciates the guests. I appreciate that the house is well equipped with everything we need to be comfortable for the week. Linens and towels are provided, even beach towels. This homeowner really tries to think of all the needs from a renters point of view. On an island where there are so many places to stay, this one is such a great option. We call this home our home away from home. We treat it like it’s our home and we even know some of the full time neighbors now. It’s a 10 out of 10 for our family.

The owners also left a cute gift bag including gift cards and a bandanna for our chihuahua! We just spent a very comfortable week at Josie’s Getaway. This cottage was very clean and so beautifully appointed and decorated in a very appropriate beach and pony theme. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basic necessities plus more to make for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were welcoming with comfortable beds and plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms, too, were very clean and comfortable. The weather allowed us to enjoy the screened in back porch and the backyard furniture as well as a morning cup of coffee on the front porch. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. This rental was a wonderful find and we would definitely return if/when we visit Chincoteague again!

Josie’s was very clean and beautifully appointed with a very appropriate beach and pony theme! It worked out well for 3 adults and 2 dogs. There were several neighborhood cats that kept the dogs entertained along with an occasional deer and squirrel! Next time I would reserve directly through Harbor Rentals and save a little $$!

Perfect house for two couples. The house has a great floor plan with and was very well appointed, everything we needed to prepare our own meals. Plenty of towels for the house and the beach. Great location right downtown, we could ride our bikes to stores, restaurants or the National wildlife area. 5 star all the way! This is the best house we have stayed in! Loved the location. Very close to all the main areas. The house was absolutely beautiful! We loved the swing on the back porch. Very relaxing! Only issue was the ants in the kitchen, but not enough to take away ratings. We will be renting again for sure!

The seahorses on the window shutters always welcomed us back when we returned from another Chincoteague adventure Josie is furnished with everything anyone will ever need. Comfortable beds, laundry facilities, plenty of light switches in convenient locations; a swing on the screened-in sunporch where you can curl up and listen to birdsongs and wind windchimes; dishes and cooking utensils, all shapes and sizes; a "pony family photo album." of the stallions, mares and foals that roam Assateague Island; and neighbors who make you feel at home. Harbour Rental personnel had answers to all of our questions and promptly responded when technical services were needed. When the day came for us to leave, we didn't want to "go away" from Josie's "getaway."

House was pretty clean for the most part, although when I swept the floors I found a abundance of pet hair that didn’t belong to our dog. The bed in the master was advertised as a queen but I’m pretty sure it was a full.. the bed was also super uncomfortable, we actually checked out a day early because we didn’t want to stay in the bed another night.

Josie's has it all! It's beautiful inside and outside. We love the swinging day bed outside and the amazing fire pit at night. This cottage is close to shopping and dining. We love that we can hop on our bikes and ride to the ocean! You can tell that this cottage is cared for by the owners and that the owners care for the guests that visit their cottage.We've been visiting Chincoteague for many years and have only used Harbour Rentals. We love that it is a small company that gives personalized service. Once we needed help with getting an appliance to work and someone from Harbour Rentals came right away to help! Our family loved staying at Josie’s Getaway! The property was conveniently located in a beautiful area. The home was well maintained with lots of amenities. The swing on the screened porch and the outdoor fire pit were a huge factor in our decision to pick Josie’s. The only issues we had were some dog hair in the main bedroom and living area, (but it’s a pet friendly rental, so we understand that) and couches were very comfy, but feathers from the throw pillows kept getting everywhere. The bathrooms were spotless, and very roomy. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of room to cook. The home is beautifully decorated and we loved the seasonal touches. All the beautiful pony pictures and photo albums were a delight. We loved looking at them! This is our favorite rental on the island now. We definitely want to come back and stay at Josie’s!

The only issue we had was that the outdoor shower may need looked at since the flow was very slow, however, that definitely would not deter me from booking again. The washer and dryer were great to have to be able to wash clothes and towels after the beach.
