Masood is awesome. Very kind and hospitable. The location was perfect. I was right on the water, located directly in the forest. It was like being in a treehouse (almost). Even though I came prepared, it had everything I needed. Very flexible and relaxed atmosphere, especially with children and pets. All the other visitors were respectful as well. I will definitely go back.

It was bloody hot. I wasn’t sure how to work the AC, but I didn’t ask either, so that was my fault. There was two fans and that worked out fine while we were sleeping.

There was a Faul smell through the property. I think it may have been sewage going into the creek.

Lovely location but needs an overhaul to be worth the price

Location was beautiful and the town was very charming. The river running right next to the property was lovely and rustic appeal

The room we booked was given away. The replacement room was unkempt, and some of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in, still dealing with back pain a few days later from poor nights sleep

Worth every penny and I will definitely be back. Next time I know what to bring from home.

I loved the view!! We stayed in the lodge called Madeline and it overlooked the creek down below and the sound was amazing of rushing water. Nestled in the redwoods with lots of nature sounds was so soothing and relaxing.

There was a microwave in the unit, but no three prong outlets to plug it in to. The bath towels were super thin and small and there weren't enough pillows.

Disappointing

Staff tried hard to be helpful

Rooms were overbooked. Ended up in an RV that wasn't securely planted on the ground, leaning to one side and resulting in a front door that had issues closing and locking.

Very good

I loved how close the little town is. You can ride your bikes, drive or walk. The creek was like something in a movie. I felt like I was in a enchanted forest. The owner was super sweet and his new puppy was ADORABLE! Our fur babies had a great time. The only problem I can report is getting ahold of the owners after we left. I left my favorite hat there. I reached out and I haven't received anything back. I'm pretty bummed. I would 100% recommend this stay!

Location, grounds, staff

Remotes for tv don't work. Trailer is not level. Trailer was not very clean. Bed was not comfortable. Window blinds in living room are broken so light wakes you if in living room (we had 3rd person).

Masood's Lodge is a gem

Masood's Lodge itself is a small village in a wooded forest, just steps from a babbling creek. The cabin was clean, cozy, quiet, and well-furnished with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Mr. Masood couldn't have been more accommodating. We wish we had booked several more days. The price was quite reasonable and the overall vibe was wonderful. We will definitely return for another visit.

No complaints whatsoever.

Exceptional

Beautiful location, rustic cabin vibe. It was comfortable and relatively private, and dog friendly! There was also a beautiful creek accessible to explore. For the price during the height of summer near Santa Cruz, I'd say it was a fair price for the weekend. Masood was also very nice and responsive, and offered tips on finding affordable places to eat. This was also my first time visiting downtown Boulder Creek, what an adorable sweet, quiet downtown! It was a very peaceful retreat. It's also a peaceful 30 minute drive to downtown Santa Cruz through the redwoods. Overall a wonderful experience and great value for this area.

Disappointing

Outside of cabin good, nice sitting on the porch

Beds in TV area not complete, sheets missing blankets poor. Main bedroom sheets didn't feel like they had been cleaned in awhile. The stream in the back which was recommended by owned smelled like there was a septic leak. The kitchen utensils were lacking. The AC didn't work

A very comfy place with water stream

A very cost place with a year round water steam. The best part is the host Mr. Masood who is always there ever at 10pm to check you in and to ensure you have all the things you need. I would go again.

Perfect for the location. Puts you into the Redwood mindset.

A large creek runs through the site that you can hike down to explore. Rooms that are close to this creek can hear running water at night. You come here to experience the woods... If you keep that in mind this place is the best in the area.

Short time that you have warm water in shower... But again... You are in the woods. If you are coming to the Red Wood Basin seeking absolute luxury, then you need to get lost anyway
