Leuk verblijf

Had alles wat het moest hebben. Bedden waren comfortabel, kamer en badkamer waren schoon. Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding!

Je kan er niet ontbijten, maar er zijn genoeg opties dichtbij in de stad.

Vive l’eau chaude!

L’eau chaude, fabuleux! Proche du parc Monteverde , parking

La couverture peut-être un peu trop fine pour le froid. L’hôtel est en bois, du coup qd on a une chambre en bas on peut entendre le plancher craquer quand les voisins du dessus le lève à 4h du matin.

Aucun regret d avoir séjourné la

Super accueil . Ils sont disponibles et vous aide à booker toutes les excursions que vous voulez faire et même les trajets pour quitter santa elena . Merci beaucoup à vous . On peut laver son linge super rapidement pour 3$ le kg Pas très loin de centre ville et 2 sodas a proximité.

C est très mal insonorisé et tout dépendra du respect ou non de vos voisins .

El peor sitio de mi vida

Al llegar nos dijeron que había nevera y cafetera. La nevera la tienen en un cuarto suyo con llave y horario, el menaje deficiente, la cafetera rota aun que al ratito nos trajo una que iba. La limpieza brilla por su ausencia. Y para colmo al lado y arriba habían unos hombres con música y gritando sin dejarnos descansar a pesar de que le dijimos que bajaran la voz. Teníamos dos noches y solo nos quedamos una y nos fuimos. Fue una estancia horrible. Hostel de carretera total.

Excellent value basic accom

Great location near 'the triangle' Staff was very helpful, with information about trips, let us leave bags after check out while we went out for the day Our room was basic accomodation, but exceeded expectations vs the listing (no aircon, but no problem in late June!). Exceptional value We even bumped in to the owner at the bus station on the way out and he made sure we were in the right place for our bus

Property wasn't signed - be sure to check the clear directions in the email confirmation - we didn't so weren't sure we were in the right spot at first (but was all sorted with a quick whatsapp!)

Very nice hostel! We had a private room for a very good price. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was super helpful and friendly, helped us with booking transportation and give us great tips of restaurants and things to do in the area! Definitely coming back!

Everything was great, especially the staff, (Michael) who booked excellent tours for us and was very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, beds, patio, small outdoor kitchen, good shower and good WiFi. Great location 5 mins walk from town centre and fantastic value for money.

No mirror in the bathroom! And quite a bit of road noise some nights, although not the fault of the hostel.

Would definitely recommend the cowboy hostel, very good hostel for the price!

Warm showers, good location, cheap laundry service, clean and comfortable

No a/c (however monteverde js pretty cool so it wasn’t horrible)

Very nice !

It was a nice simple bedroom with a huge TV (maybe not needed), everyting was super clean. The shower had very warm water, which is exactly what I needed after a long day.

I missed a chill space with tables and hammocks outside, and some more blankets at night! I had to cover myself with my jacket..

great cozy stay

great little room with super comfy bed and very clean. staff were really friendly and helpful with organising tours and giving advice.

room was a bit draughty and chilly, wind could be heard really loudly at night. but not sure if this was because it was particularly windy that weekend.

Good value and location

Nice location short walk to town centre. Simple clean. Staff is very kind and helpful though not always on site so make sure you ask questions where they are. Best to book tours direct as they will be more expensive through the hotel. Parking available but no communal facilities like kitchen etc nor even a fridge in the room.

Cute Hidden Gem

This is a cute little hotel within walking distance to everything. The room was quaint and comfortable. Nice little sitting area outside.

There was a terrible storm when we were there and water went under the door and soaked the room, suitcases, etc. A door sweep would probably have stopped it. We left a day early do to the weather and our belongings being soaked. 😔

Excellent budget option with super host.

This was an excellent budget accommodation. Randall was prompt at sending us tour information. He was very helpful with booking tours and onward travel arrangements. Very friendly host who replies quickly to any questions. The room was super clean. It has a high wood ceiling that makes the room feel bigger. So far, this place has the best shower in Costa Rica with good pressure and hot water. We had a great experience at Cowboy Hostel.

Cowboy Hostel - good place if you only need a bed

It is close to the center of Monteverde. about 0.3 mile walk. The room is clean. There is north cold and hot water in the shower. If all you want is a place to sleep, shower and use a bathroom, then Cowboy Hostel will meet your needs. There is no kitchen area to even boil water or a common area to sit outside your room.

The name of this place is Cowboy Hostel. The word hostel implies that there is a common area for lounging and common kitchen area. There is NO common areas except the parking lot. Calling it a hostel is misleading. The staff said that the booking information says there is no common kitchen. I read the booking information again. I do not see where it says there is no common kitchen. It is also true that it does not say that there IS a common kitchen. I assumed that based on the name of the place using the name “hostel”. The parking area is just a grass lot in front of the apartments. It is a large square area with only one entrance in and out of it. Without marked parking spaces, guests can easily park in a way to block each other in. It can be arranged such that all cars can park without blocking anyone but it will be tight if all 8 apartments have a car. There is no way they can tolerate more than one car per room. So it was left to us hosts to discuss amongst ourselves how to park the cars so as to not block each other in. I would have thought the staff would have been proactive to explain how we should park upon arrival. The hostel is on a street which is apparently one of the few streets directly into the downtown area and so it stays quite busy, especially with motorcycles, a very common mode of transportation for the locals. And you’ll hear these motorcycles, which are quite loud, running up and down the street all day until the numbers start to slow down about 11 pm.

Amazing place! Staff extremely kind and available, they helped us with literally every needs. The hostel is at walking distance from everything and the area is super safe. The best option for the cheapest price in the area! It was a very pleasant surprise.

Lovely stay

Ideal location with restaurants and shops nearby, great value for money and the reception staff/owner (and Mimi) were very nice and helpful. Even had netflix on TV!! Pura vida

it is always windy outside and we could not sleep without earplugs due to the noise also walls are very thin so you hear everything the neighbours do plenty of motorcycles riding down the street so you hear it all in the room

Great stay!

Rooms were spacious and clean with a covered space to sit outside which I always value. Staff were friendly and helpful, booking tours/shuttles and being patient to practice Spanish with me. There was laundry service and a communal fridge and staff also offered use of their personal kitchen (though I didn't use myself). Super comfy beds, blankets and even Netflix for those rainy evenings!
