About this apartment rental
Come unwind in this charming apartment, tucked into the corner of our bustling organic vegetable & flower farm called Frinklepod Farm. Stroll over to the well-stocked farm store (open May-October) for ingredients for your next meal, take a self-guided tour of our farm fields and surrounding woods, or relax at a picnic table in the herb garden.
This apartment is a new addition to a building we call The Pod, which houses our licensed kitchen, propagation greenhouse, and occasional community dinners and events. During the "off-season" (late Oct - April), things are quite quiet around the farm. In the summer months there is more activity outside the building, including a kids' day camp and a soft serve ice cream window. The Loft has a separate entrance so that you can choose how much or how little you'd like to engage with the goings-on at the farm.
We have outfitted The Loft with all of the amenities that we appreciate when we travel:
A latex memory foam mattress (Nectar brand) in the bedroom
A floor to ceiling curtain separating the bedroom from the living space, maximizing natural light
A pullout sofa that with a natural latex topper for comfort
A full kitchen equipped with easy-to-use appliances and stocked with pantry staples
Age appropriate games & toys (upon request)
*Please note that while there is WIFI, there is no TV*
We are located just over the Kennebunkport line, on a well-traveled road that connects the hubs of downtown Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Biddeford. A 10-minute drive in any direction will bring you to beaches (Goose Rocks & Gooch's Beach), walking trails, restaurants, and shops. Southern Maine's largest antiques destination, the Seashore Trolley Museum, mini golf, and the Vinegar Hill Music Theatre are all just one mile away. We have lived in this community for many years and are excited to share our knowledge of all the best local destinations with you!

What a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The loft is extremely comfortable and well appointed. So much thought went into the overall design and we appreciated all the details and little touches of farm life in Maine. The location is ideal. Very close to Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Ogunquit. Day trips to Portland and Portsmouth are easy. The farm is a welcome respite that offers true relaxation. It was fun to walk through the farm and browse the farm shop. It has everything you’ll need. Flora and Noah are great hosts. We look forward to returning!

This place is perfect I wish I stayed longer. 8 minute drive to Kennebunkport which was beautiful this July. We took and Uber to and from Kennebunk which took a while for them to arrive but were very cheap. Thank you to our host this place is great for a quick trip or and extended one with a spouse!

Pristine apartment that was absolutely perfect for our stay for the festivities. Pictures are exactly what you get. It’s a wonderful little haven just outside town. Hope to stay there again!

We loved this cute property! The farm is so peaceful and beautiful. Lovely cute apartment that feels like a treehouse! Be aware that the second bed (pullout couch bed) would likely be fine for kids but not comfortable enough for an adult. The main bed is very comfortable with nice linens. There is a full sized kitchen. The location can’t be beat - super close to lots of beaches and the downtown Kennebunk Port. We took a plant based cooking class with the owner at the farm store below which was super fun! Highly recommend this stay.

My wife and I couldn't have been any happier about our stay. It was quaint, clean, and quiet. Just what the doctor ordered. We will certainly be back. Thanks again!

The apartment was very clean and cozy. The colors and decor are great! The bed was very comfortable.
We only stayed one night as we were headed more north in Maine. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. The back garden area was peaceful as well.
The farm market just down the road is lovely! We stopped in and got everything we needed to make breakfast.

The trip was a quick one and we had a lot to do so this location suited what we needed for a place to sleep. It was a little tricky to find in the dark with no lights, but once we were there everything was very well lit. The decorating made things feel warm and it is very private

We have stayed here twice now and absolutely treasure it. It's just an hour and a half away from Boston and we use it to decompress, take beach walks and cook slow meals. The bed is comfy, the no tv is relaxing, the kitchen is fully equipped. We love it and will be back again soon!

Thoughtfully appointed, aesthetically pleasing, sunny, spacious apartment. Full kitchen, nice bathroom, comfy bed. All very clean and new, with some beautiful touches.
Located near antique shop(pes), good restaurants, and more. Even in the winter! Helpful notes from host, very gracious, easy to find and access.
Overall, excellent!
(Only caveat: it is only accessible via a long set of stairs, if that's of concern to anyone in your party.)

We chose this property mainly based on how cheerful, colorful, and creatively decorated it looked in the photos, and it did not disappoint. It was such a relaxing and rejuvenating stay. I especially enjoyed the beautiful and fun art sprinkled throughout the place, including the octopus wallpaper in the bathroom. Checking out the store in the morning and getting some delicious donuts was like the cherry on top!

My friend and I came up to Maine to visit family and enjoy the leaves. The loft was perfect! It was perfectly clean and cozy, and was in such beautiful surroundings. Great location for accessing Kenebunkport, Ogunquit, beaches and shops.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farm! Beautiful apartment minutes away from Kennebunkport, the ocean and very convenient to Portland. Prompt communication with Fiona and the farm market is an absolute plus (loved the tote bags and the produce is the best!) We will stay here again!!

Look at the windows into the forest. Walk out the door into flowers and vegetable farm in its fullness in the summer. The farm store served my needs and is right on the property. Beautiful inside and out. Simple. Classy. Cheerful. Inspirational. Well stocked in the kitchen, in the living area with cool games and in the bedroom with interesting books, Environmentally conscious, super clean, new construction. Bed and bedding are fantastic! Heat pump kept it cool in the summer heat. Easy access to the close beaches and Kennebunkport, And close to Route 1 to head north or south on adventures. And for bikers, the Eastern Trail is close by. Overall this is one of the best VRBOs I have stayed in and definitely will be back!!

We've never been to Maine before. Decided to visit for my wife's 40th birthday. It's clearly a popular summer destination, so we looked all over southern Maine for quite a while, ultimately choosing the Frinklepod farm loft, with some trepidation.
In the end, though, I'm glad we found this low-key spot in Arundel instead of the condos in Portland or the fancy Ogunquit hotels or the remote lakeside retreats.
It's easy to get to. We drove up from Boston and had no problem finding the farm or finding our way into the loft apartment at the edge of the woods. It'll sneak up on you, though, so just look for the ice cream banner.
It's a great little home away from home that served our needs without being overly indulgent. Well designed, with plenty of space for two. Thoughtful layout, useful amenities, safe & secure, quiet and private. Great kitchen, great wifi, great light. Lots of windows to let in a breeze, and a minisplit A/C to keep it comfortable when it's hot (or cold).
It's at the edge of a working farm, so don't expect a well-manicured lawn or anything. It's got a private parking spot and a private entrance, and that's good enough for me. The farm property is lovely, though, despite only limited exploration during our stay. Beautiful flowers and vegetables at their midsummer peak. And at night, I wandered through the dark rows of dahlias and tomatoes to gaze at the stars. Hosts were friendly but not at all intrusive, and responsive and helpful when we needed anything.
The location itself is perfect. We're not yuppie enough to stay in Kennebunkport proper, but we spent lots of time there and around the area, dining, swimming at the beaches, and hiking further west. We ate lots of lobster, saw lighthouses and whales, and generally had a good ol' Maine time. We visited Portland a couple of times for dinner, had the fancy service at White Barn Inn, enjoyed Bandaloop for a break from the heavy seafood-and-cream diet, but then topped it off with Big Daddy's ice cream down the road.
There's always more to see and do on a limited vacation, but the Frinklepod loft apartment was just what we needed as a home base for our adventures.

Escape!
The Frinklepod Loft is the perfect escape! It has been thoughtfully & charmingly decorated. Has everything you need, and is in a great location. We stayed 3 nights and did mostly beach and walking trails (bird watching). PERFECT - would love to return!
