Gather all your family and friends for a trip to the Black Hills and stay in the High Country! This spacious home with a home theater, pool table, foosball table, playset, large patio, and two Weber grills is sure to entertain all. Located just two miles from Deadwood off Hwy 14A (Boulder Canyon between Sturgis and Deadwood) allows everyone to head out for adventures and come back to meet up for an evening of fun. The vacation never ends with all the amenities this lodge has to offer.
The new private indoor pool is housed in a 2,400 sq ft building and features a 14'x34'x3-6 foot deep pool. The pool is heated and has an automatic electric cover for safety. The attached private pool house has a king suite with a twin bed and a full bath, laundry, and patio. There are large patios to use for sun or shade outside the numerous patio doors, several picnic tables, and a big screen smart TV. Outside features a sand volleyball pit, horseshoe pit, tetherball, and cornhole boards (in the garage). There is already a great sledding hill. There is lots of parking and over six acres of grass to toss a football or let the kids run or ride their bikes.
High Country is set up with a main bedroom on the main level with a king, full over full bunk and trundle, queen bed, flatscreen TV, and an attached bathroom with two sinks, a soaking tub, and a large walk-in shower. Off the entry, the foyer is a king suite with an attached bath. From the foyer is a larger dining table that connects with the open kitchen. Open from the kitchen is the family room with wrap around couch, flatscreen TV, and another table for playing cards. Off the kitchen is a large patio that overlooks the grassy hills. The covered patio is set with two tables, two grills, and a playset for the younger kids of the group. The main floor also has two more additional bedrooms - one with a queen and a second bedroom with a full over full bunk with trundle and a bathroom.
Moving to the lower level brings you to the fun-filled great room with a pool table, two pub tables, Pac Man console, and a foosball table. Just through the door is the home theatre that has eight recliners and a large sectional couch. The lower level has a smaller kitchenette with a full-size fridge. One wing has three additional king bedrooms with two large bathrooms, and one king bedroom with an attached bath. Off the theatre area is another king bedroom with a full-sized crib and full bath with tub/shower.
High Country Pool is an easy drive to all the area attractions from Historic Deadwood to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Keystone, Hill City, the Badlands, and more!

The descriptions and photos of this amazing property did not even live up to its actual awesomeness. Every detail was thought of and things were clean and generously provided. The kids had a great time in the pool, theater room, game room, garage arcade, beach volleyball court and outdoor play structure. The adults enjoyed the comfortable rooms and beautiful bathrooms! My only complaint is that the management company did not accurately portray amenities available at the house.

This is the second year we have rented the High Country Pool House. It is the perfect size for our family and the pool is the most fun of all. It has so many options for entertainment, from theater room, volleyball, ping pong and so much more. Back yard furniture was cleaned this year, but could use a spider spraying around the outside perimeter. The added cemented area in the back was a big improvement as well as new theater seats. The playground equipment is needing some updating. It is getting very wobbly. A recommendation would be to add an outdoor basketball hoop. Also, the theater room internet connections was so slow. Constantly buffering so unable to use Prime, Netflix, etc. One thing we noticed is that no matter what we changed thermostats to, it didn't change the temps in the house. Assuming it is preprogramed, but was actually too cold in the house most of the time. The location to Deadwood is perfect. We love this house and will not think twice about renting it again.

We have rented homes all across the US, and have never had a home so stocked with everyday supplies as this one. We were very appreciative! This house was definitely set up for a crowd, with attention to detail unmatched in any other home we have stayed in. This was a wonderful "home base" from which to enjoy the Hills!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the location, house, and everything within that was available for every age group. Pictures on line don’t do it justice. The house was gorgeous, layout perfect. We lacked nothing. From a garage large enough for all our meals for a group of 24 to playing games inside when it rained outside. The pool and theater were such a hit for the kids, and hot tubs for adults. We had beautiful views. Neighbors were friendly to those who went walking. So many outdoor activities available. Everyone raved about the place and definitely will return.

24 of us stayed at the High Country Pool House March 28- April 1. We celebrated an 80th birthday and Easter. Our family aged 2.5 to 83 years and everyone had a great time. So many areas to gather whether you want a competitive game of cards to reading a book quietly. The pool house of course was the star of the show with its warm temperature and pool toys. Your choice of indoor or outdoor hot tubs were also favorites. The kitchen and 2 dining rooms held us all comfortably and with our full bellies we waddled off to the comfiest beds. The kids loved the playground set and sledded down the big hill since it snowed during our stay. The 3 sets of washers/dryers mean no going home with dirty laundry and there are plenty of refrigerators for all the food we brought. The teenagers in our group could usually be found in the theater room and the pool table held highly competitive games! Loved the closeness to Deadwood as we went in for supper one night and left the kiddos behind. Can’t recommend this house enough for a larger gathering place.

We have been coming to Deadwood for our guys trips 3 years in a row. What started out as bachelor party weekends has turned into an annual thing. This year we wanted to try out Deadwood and was our first year using Vacasa along with staying at this home. It was everything advertised and more. Plenty of room for all 15 of our guests and more than enough things to do than we could handle in 4 days, 3 nights. Whether it be a family reunion mixed of all ages or a group of friends getting together for an event - this place has you covered. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this house! It was large enough to hold our group of 20. It had many nice features, including indoor pool, 2 hot tubs, and a media room. The house was well stock with everything we needed. Conveniently located between Deadwood and Sturgis. The house was very clean and super comfortable for our large group. the only problem we had was 3 TVs didn't work and a clogged toilet on Saturday morning. After leaving 2 messages with no response, on Sunday we had go buy a plunger to unclog the toilet ourselves The 3 rooms went without TV for those days (not a deal breaker, but kinda of a bummer). On Monday they showed up to fix the toilet (which we already fixed) and get three of the TVs working correctly. in conclusion however, I would highly recommend the property We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house!

The house was beautiful and clean. The toys was amazing and the kids loved them. The swimming pool was a bit hit also! The location was really great. Close to Deadwood to go eat in town and close enough to trail heads to go ride our razors. The parking was not as plentiful for trucks and trailers as was needed. This was the only thing not Perfect. I highly recommend this house you will love it!

This was the perfect place for all 16 of us ages 3 to 70. It had everything at the house that you could ever need. There is enough room for everyone and enough things to do. Heck, we didn’t have to leave the house if we didn’t want to. The kids all enjoyed the pool pretty much couldn’t get them out of it. I would recommend this for anyone!

The house has everything to keep a big group intertained. Wonderful property. Good response with management. Tgere was a leak/flooding in basement when we arrived and a handeyman was sent right away to evaluate, but not resolved. Flooding didnt interfere with our stay tough.

Gorgeous home in a perfect location. The kiddos loved the swimming pool and all of the activities! The home has a fantastic floor plan. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub with a stunning view after a very busy day. The PERFECT home to rest and relax in after our many activities throughout the week!

The beds were extremely comfortable, the showers were very nice, the kitchen had all the utensils we needed, and the grill worked to perfection. The patio, game room, and garage were great for entertaining. We sat around the patio while cooking on the grill, played a pool tournament in the game room, and had a bags tournament in the garage since it was sprinkling. A great memory for the group and definitely a place we will look at staying again!

We take 24 military connected students to Deadwood for a mental health retreat and this place allowed our students a large enough space to stay and feel comfortable. staying somewhere with family its ok to be in tight quarters, but here, they had space to sleep, lounge and have activities. First, this spacious property was decorated for Christmas, with several trees and nice touches all around.
Secondly, there are 10 bedrooms, lots of beds that were very comfortable and plenty of bathrooms.
Thirdly, the kitchen is well-stocked with everything needed for cooking and serving.
Lastly, the pool and hottub are awesome. Sadly, the pool quit heating on Christmas day and became too cold to use. I recommend having a pool person on call for problems because this is part of the allure of renting of the house. I was told how to reset, but the pool needed more than a reset.
My family had an amazing time, even with all the horrible weather that almost prevented our ability to get here. Thanks, Vacasa!

Pool, theatre, room for 24 sold. This home was fantastic for my families early Christmas get together. The owners thought of everything! From wrapping paper in case you forgot (we totally did), life jackets (also forgot), crock pots and multiple kitchen appliances. I would love to visit this home during the summer to enjoy the outdoor activities, but for 3' of snow in the hills this house was perfect for 16 of us to enjoy swimming, hot tubbing, movie watching, card games (they have tons of games), book reading (they have a nice library!), the list goes on. We will definitely be back!

High Country Pool House did not disappoint! We have never stayed in a rental property that had so many amenities to offer. It had absolutely everything we needed and beyond. The Vacasa rental company stayed in touch with us from the beginning of our booking and all went very smoothly. We will definitely book through this company again.

We stayed in the high country pool house for 3 nights with 24 family members. It was the perfect house for us! Everyone had their own room and very few had to share a bathroom. The beds were so comfy and everything was extremely clean! Everything was extremely well stocked from kitchen supplies to extra tables and chairs in the garage, pool toys, outdoor toys and so much more!! The management company was extremely easy to work with also. We would highly recommend booking this house and hope to return someday to spend more time in SD!
