Spruce Tree Retreat is within walking distance to the grocery store, tavern, and local restaurants. This is a very nice place to stay when visiting the sturgis deadwood and all the Black Hills. The house was very clean and had plenty of room. The host was very informative of all the places to see in South Dakota and had maps in the house for you too plan your day.

The house over all was clean and looked very nice on the inside. The AC in the house are 3 window units that could not keep up with the heat outside. It was in the 100s and during the day the lowest the house would get was 80 degrees. It did cool off at night and it was fine in the mornings. As far as location the house is a little hard to find but it’s very close to all the events in lead and deadwood. The host was very responsive when we had an issue and there were plenty of towels, pillows, and linen for us to use.

Lead is a special place. This was a three generation Fathers Day trip. My Father was born in Deadwood in 1936. My son and I took him to revisit his past one more time and this Home was the perfect combination of Lead history, location and charm!

Brought my family for the weekend for a ski trip, stayed in this house and it was really nice, the upstairs is great for teens and younger kids, not so much for older people, just because you have to go up and down a spiral staircase to be able to get to restroom, but the kids and teens loved it. Everything was great as far as cooking utensils, towels and plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The one thing I didn't like is that there was no broom, I like to be able to sweep and keep things tidy even though I'm on vacation. And also it's a little tricky finding it and not great parking. But if your looking for a nice little house to stay a weekend are a few more days it was perfect

This property was not the one I thought I had rented, it was too late to do any modifications, it was a big weekend in Lead and accommodation where had to come by. Owner was very thoughtful, saw the high temperatures predicted during our stay and had the air conditioning turned on for us prior to arrival. Home was well furnished, lots of towels and washcloths in each bathroom, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well outfitted.

We had a fabulous time staying here. It’s in a great location, the host was amazing, with quick responses to any questions or needs we had. The grocery store and Ace hardware was a block away. We even had a Doe and her baby eating grass right outside the front and back door several times, it was very cool! I would recommend this place to anyone 😁.

This lovely home is beautifully decorated and well appointed. We have a wonderful, quiet stay and would recommend this house to anyine coming to the Lead/Deadwood area. Danny was very helpfyl with recommendations for restaurants, parking, etc. It helped make this a fantastic vacation trip!

We had a great stay. Good location to Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, and Wind Cave National Park. The house was very clean, tons of new TVs (kids hooked up their switch), and Sonos speaker. Kitchen was super stocked, beds were great and came with tons of pillows. Great place to stay if visiting the area!

Place was great. Kitchen was amazing. Everything was so nicely done. Plenty of room for the kids. They were so excited to find the monopoly game and other toys. Extra towels were appreciated. Danny was a great host. Even turned the a/c back on for us (remotely) when he noticed it was off upstairs and getting hot upstairs.

We spent a very enjoyable week at Danny’s clean and comfortably furnished home. Close proximity to shops in Lead, on a quiet secluded street with plenty of parking for our truck, enclosed trailer and 5 bikes. The entire home is nicely decorated, beds are very comfortable, very well stocked kitchen supplies/amenities, lots of towels provided. Danny is quick to reply to any questions. The deck in the backyard is a quiet pleasant location for morning coffee and evening cocktails. A small family of deer visited us each morning and evening. We would definitely stay here again !!

If you are looking for a comfy, clean and cool place to stay while visiting Deadwood, this is the place for you. We had such a wonderful time. House was very clean, beds were very comfy and the living room was very comfortable to sit and enjoy a drink before exploring surrounding area. We spent most of our time in Deadwood but we did drive to Mt Rushmore and Keystone. The location of the house was right off the highway so made it easy to get around. Thanks for the amazing stay and if I know anyone heading that way I will most definitely be telling them to stay with you!

Property was very clean and well-kept. And in a great location. The host was extremely accommodating. A member of our party lost an item of great significance to them. The hosts went out of his way to make sure that that item was returned swiftly! Would highly recommend renting this VRBO!

The place was very clean. Had everything we needed if we might of forgot at home. We loved that the taxi service came right to the house and transported us (7) to Deadwood. The beds were super comfy It was a little hard to find at first but once we found the stardust it was a easy from there.

We found a gem in Lead. Though the exterior is modest, this home is nicely renovated inside. And Lead is an historic mining town centrally located for visiting many scenic Black Hill sites. We would happily return.
