Cheap simple hostel

They meet us at the harbor!. The outdoor living room where you could watch movies.

The rooms were extremely hot because there are no AC. We booked rooms with private bathrooms but got rooms with a bathroom in the hallway. Booked a time for information about the island but no one showed up. No staff around at breakfast time so we had to go to another hostel to have breakfast.

An unique amazing stay at La Tortuga

The hostel is very well located close to the city of Moyogalpa, where most of the ferries arrive. The hostel is very nice, colorful and so welcoming. Thumbs very very very up for the lovely staff especially Beatrice who is a sweetheart. I was lucky to get a big room instead of the dorm ( which is quite nice ) and everything was so ok. Breakfast is delicious. Omotepe is such a quiet beautiful place with lush jungle full of animals, birds and amazing beaches. I more than highly recommend this hostel and this island

The best

Really amazing hostel super clean comfortable, has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofás really nice ,TV with netflix, Hbo, the family who run the hostal are lovely they recommend you the best plan to do. It also has a lots of fans on the dorm super fresh. Would definitely stay again. I recommend it!

The hostal was amazing the staff was so helpful. The owner very frendly my favourite hostal in Nicaragua. The place was clean and confortable the kitchen and the room were amazing. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend.

Can’t truly rate this location as I did not actually stay there. Apparently there was an issue with my booking as there was no available space for me however hostal tortuga never communicated this with me and did not help me to find other accommodation. They contacted another hostel and the owner had me stay in her brothers house. bad review for bad communication and bad business.

Shared kitchen Nice garden Good location, close to the port and supermarket are walking distance.

The room had many mosquitoes at night and even full of mosquitoes on my bed, that's was really scary until we switched off the light. Single bed are comfy but if they provide mosquitoes net would be better.

Perfect host, nice chill vibe. Very relaxing. Absolutely friendly nice staff. They got a free coffe. I see this place got a yoga potential. Feel very safe and welcomed. Thank you.

Good value for money

For the price, it’s good value for money! The guy at reception was very helpful, helped us with booking a moped! The garden is lovely too

The bed was not very comfortable and the room was extremely hot so I couldn’t sleep very well

Nice and comfortable

This was a nice place to stay. Very close to the port. They arrange transport from the port too so you are not getting heckled from local taxi drivers. It was clean. Kitchen for cooking. We stayed in a private room. Was perfectly fine but got really hot at night. Comfortable bed.

Room was too hot at night. Aircon is defo needed.

Incredibly cheap Hostal conveniently located to the ferry port. nice outdoor space and some basic gym equipment.

The 8 bed room barely had room for 6 beds- we were all squished up against each other. Very hot and smelly. No lockers. The shower is rubbish and the door doesn’t shut. Nowhere to hang your stuff.

No windows to the outside, so no fresh air. The windows that face the living room and the other room have very thin curtains so that most of the light go through.

Exceptional

Amazing hostel! Clean. Staff go out if their way to help. Free coffee ☕ and drinking water available all day. The free pickup at the dock was a great service. I'll definitely return here when I'm in town again.

The dorm can be a bit crowded (lacking floor space) but I found it manageable.

Tranquilo

Nice and helpful staff. They even offered me medicine when I became ill. Cheap and safe rentals available. Especially nice was that I could store some of my luggage there for one night to do a tour around the island.

Great, central location. Friendly, inviting family. Included a small breakfast. They kt me keep my things there, and even use the kitchen, for a late check out.

Only one bathroom; would have been annoying with more guests.

great price, yummy breakfast, good location, nice activities and cheap offers, climbed the volcano, clean kitchen and bathrooms, cute kittens, very friendly hosts, warm and welcoming family, large outdoor area to chill and relax

Amazing place and staff

Amazing place. The hostel is great quality for money, really close to the city. It's a relaxed vibe and the staff are incredible. I hurt my foot while I was on Ometepe, and even though I didn't ask, the staff offered me all kinds of help. They drove me to the hospital and back and helped with other things too. They even drove me to catch my ferry at 6am. I really really recommend this hostal. I know I will be back here next time I'm in ometepe.

Pleasant

The reception told me that they have problem with dormitory, but he can offer me a single room with the same price. But he overcharged me. When i showed him the price in Booking, he didn't even want to see. Even though it was a small amount difference, but i felt was cheated. And because of upgrade, i couldn't say much. Honesty is very important in maintaining business
