Chill out and enjoy the views of the canal boats and cruisers passing through the lock. Let the lapping waters lull you into pure relaxation before gathering for a full English breakfast all fresco style. This exclusive apartment does not only offer you a comfy bolthole with three bedrooms and a spacious and sociable living space, but prime locality for shopping, historic pursuits and adventures by foot, on water or two wheels.
Enjoy the bustling market town of Tewkesbury by day, exquisite waterside walks by noon and theatre shows by night. Take a leisurely meander of the market town, weave in and out of the Tudor buildings and visit farmers markets, antique shops and tea rooms. Pick up a small aperitif and step aboard a river cruise (season permitting) before catching a matinee at the Roses Theatre. If historic splendour is on the agenda, Tewkesbury is home to a 12th-century abbey, adorned with one of the highest Norman towers in the country, and the largest medieval re-enactment festival in Europe in July. Just a short drive to the other side of town you will find Croft Farm, where you can spend the days on the lake, sailing, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. There is even a selection of peddalows for the younger ones. The café at Croft farm is dog friendly too, so no need to leave the pooch at home. Beyond Tewkesbury you will find the famous Cotswolds and a day out in Chipping Campden is a must. There are plenty of on and off road cycle routes and some family friendly trails too. On those days you want to just be at one with nature, take a trip to the nearby nature reserve, educational and fun for all the family. You will find Regency Cheltenham within 10 miles, great to visit for one of their cultural festivals or a flutter at the races. Stunning Sudeley and Eastnor castles, and Malvern are all within 15 miles. Whatever you choose to do, Avon Lock Cottage will not disappoint. Shop 100 yards, pub 170 yards and restaurant 1 mile.
