The small villa with a private garden and access to the refreshing pool with partial shade was great. The beds were very comfy. Being from a tropical country, we could appreciate the mosquito control in the villa which is not easy given the fact it is surrounded by trees. If you like walking up early to bird songs, this place is a pure delight. So is the garden - rich with a variety of flora. The staff Lahiru & Indika were super courteous, prompt and helpful. The breakfast is simple, fresh & wholesome. It is a quiet location, just a short distance away from the beaches & the fort. The villa provided some extra space to spread out our stuff. Though I'd like to make a few suggestions
1) a fan added to the living room would make it more usable. It gets quite hot.
2) the furniture in the living room can be changed to more cushiony comfortable pieces.
3) a table or a surface in the bedroom to put your luggage on would be nice.
4) the sheers in the extra bedroom let the street light in as well as the morning light in. Thicker curtains can be added for sounder sleep.
This is not to say we didn't enjoy our stay. We loved it !!
Though it isn't something we didn't like but I think it's important to point out for people who it matters to.
1) the description says there is a washing machine & microwave. There isn't. For people traveling with kids or stopping over at the villa hoping to do laundry for their trip ahead this may be important.
2) it is mentioned "extra large" double bed. It is a regular sized comfortable bed.

The property was so beautiful and so clean. Only our family was staying. It was like we had the whole property to ourselves. The pool was clean and food was simple and tasty. The staffs were so helpful and guided us to good local markets. They were accommodative enough to make Indian chai for us. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful stay from the “welcome” to goodbye. Indika made our stay amazing, being always glad to help. We asked for an early take away because we had to leave and he prepared a proper early breakfast very early in the morning. 🌻

the design, style, the furniture, the food. the food was incredible and all made to order. the food was traditional and beautifully made. the staff - Indika and Lahiru were so friendly. they showed us around the gardens and showed us plants and herbs. we climbed trees and talked for ages, as they were both so knowledgable. the shower, bed and balcony was gorgeous and so stylish. the pool was cleaned each morning and was so fresh. overall it was a fantastic stay, and I will definitely go back!

The behaviour of both the caretakers were exceptional... they welcomed us with mango juice which was too good and above that the dinner prepared by them on a short notice was incredible... very simple yet very tasty... they were always on their feet to help us in any possible manner... a big thumbsup from us for the services provided by the care takers

Nice location, feels like in the middle of the jungle. Indika was a woderful host serving us great breakfast, great dinner and some coconuts in between. He is a great cook, just ask him for a dinner and you will eat like in one of the best restaurants in Galle.

Bilin Tree House is a tranquil haven of peace, a tropical garden, locked away from the busy town of Galle. It's a 10 minute tuk tuk drive to Galle Fort and a 10 minute walk to the beach. The 5-course breakfast is absolutely magnificent, with freshly made pancakes created with different fruits every morning picked directly from the abundant, fragrant gardens. Indika and Lahiru were excellent hosts and made our stay very special.

Really nice place, first breakfast was really good, the second one was traditional so not really breakfast type of food for us, but more like lunch/dinner meal. Clean and the pool was also really nice.
the value for the money, it is not worth it, its far from the center, tuktuk driver overcharge, far from the beach and not really good English communication. we had problem with wifi and AC and electricity was switching on and off both days, the hot water was after 10-15 minutes, but only burning hot. We stayed in Sri Lanka for 12 days in 8 different places, but the worst one was this. We rated all the properties 9-10/10, but this one doesn’t deserve it. Everything is nice and clean, stuff is nice but don’t understand English, breakfast should start at 8:00 but as usual you will wait for an hour to actually get it.

Bilin House is a boutique hotel offering a comfortable stay, spacious swimming pool and great hospitality, all set in a lush garden. The property is run by two extremely kind hosts - Indika and Lahiru - who serve amazing and crafted breakfast (altering it slightly everyday) and may surprise you with hand-picked flowers from the garden left in your room. Overall, this place a great value for money, largely due to its friendly hosts, cleanliness and tasteful design.

A big thank you to both guys. They were very attentive and friendly. We had some great curry and a wonderful, delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. Everything was perfectly on place, clean and tidy. I loved the pool area and the beautiful lotus room. Will def. Recommend and come again :)

The property was well managed and the rooms are quiet spacious with balconies. The property is located at the centre and is hardly 3-4 kms from prime locations such as Galle Dutch Fort, Unawatuna Beach etc. The pool is the highlight of the property. The food prepared is great. The caretakers - Indica and Lahiru were supportive, courteous and professionals.

Great staff and lovely large breakfast with fresh fruit, pancakes and hoppers. The pool was absolutely lovely and perfect for our young children to enjoy. The location was a little outside Galle fort but it was easy enough to take a tuk tuk and avoid the heat with the fort walls.
There were an awful lot of mosquitos there during our stay and the Villa we were in only had shutters rather than actual windows so we were feasted on most nights.

We had a wonderful stay at the Billin Tree House. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable and the pool is beautiful with the perfect sun/shade ratio. We also really enjoyed the interesting gardens and watching for visiting kingsfishers and monkeys. We stayed for 3 nights in the family villa with 3 children, who said it was their favourite place that they had stayed.
Very special thanks to Indika and Krishan, who are the most incredible and attentive hosts. If we could give a ‘host rating’ of over 10, we most definitely would! They couldn’t have been more helpful or kind and made our stay so happy and enjoyable.

the only thing was the shower was cold, however we didn’t flag this to the property as we only had showers after long hot days.

We had an incredible 5 day stay in Bilin Tree House. The hotel is lovely and quiet with an idilic crystal clear pool that had just the right amount of sun and shade. The rooms were lovely, spacious, very clean and had everything we needed.
Indika and Krishan were such lovely and welcoming hosts. They made us feel right at home and helped us navigate Galle so that we got the most out of our stay. The most special aspect was the amazing amazing dinners they made for us, they were truly out of this world delicious and made our stay extra special. The best meals we had in Sri Lanka.
