The staff and the lobby was quaint and friendly. Wine and cheese at check-in was a bonus. There is a closet elevator that I would not ride. The stairway up to our room was longer than typical but doable. Parking was great. It was absorbed by the hotel at a parking garage across the street. My negatives are about the room. There was shipping and bubbling paint on the outside walls. The bed was too high to get into for anyone over 40. The bedding wouldn't stay put and kept releasing from the corners of the mattress. The bathroom cabinet had rust around all the hardware and the door to the cabinet was falling off. We were in room 227. I imagine there are bedrooms so if you book with this hotel, try to avoid the room we were in. Also, water was dripping through the wall tile into the bathroom tub. Not sure why I don't think it was the haunted ghost of the hotel, I believe it was a plumbing deficiency.

This architectually interesting historic hotel in downtown Greensboro was a nice break from cookie-cutter properties. My room was well-appointed and spacious, the included breakfast was good, with a variety of options (although a whole grain bread option would have been welcome), and the staff members were cordial and helpful. My rooms (bedroom and sitting room) on the front side of the hotel, were sporadically noisy on weekend nights, and I wished I had taken earplugs.

Great stay. Super friendly staff

Lovely historical hotel convenient location close to restaurants, bars, and shopping. Staff were friendly and helpful. The mattress could have been better but it worked for short stay. Hotel itself was quiet, but was on main floor and could hear all noise when bars closed. Probably not as bad on upper floors or front of hotel. I would stay again just different room.

Adorable old hotel furnished in early 20th century style. Personable staff. Charming. Would make this my first choice every time.

I love this place. It's old and it shows its age, but that's a plus for me. Distinctive, fun and downtown near the train station make it a perfect quick weekend trip.

Quaint but maybe a little quirky. Some will love this place

Great stay at this historic building property. Not fancy in the same way as premium hotels, but very friendly and home feel. Old metal gate elevator, original brass hardware on doors. Convenient breakfast items. mini-fridge in our room.
Old 4-post bed pretty high and floors a bit creaky, but this is also part of the historic charm.
Great start for exploring downtown Greensboro history.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I wouldn’t stay here even if they paid me the $175 a night. The ac unit sounded like a jet engine. Had to leave it off all night. The bed creaked loudly on any movement. The mattress was equivalent to laying on asphalt. Their supposed free breakfast is a handful of bagels and a waffle machine.

Great turn of the century hotel. Very quaint and lovely. Breakfast was very good! Very close to lots to do downtown. Will definitely stay the next time we are in Greensboro!!

We stayed 3 nights and fell in love with the property! The rich history of the Biltmore was evident everywhere you turned. The staff was so passionate about the property and the history behind it that they weren’t just people there to work, they were the Biltmore!
Take the walking tour, ask questions about the property, embrace the beauty of the Biltmore and the staff that embraces it!! Greensboro was so much fun to explore and the choices of dining were fantastic.
The property was so quiet we had no clue it was a full house!
Thank you Brian, Lee, Koka, Stephanie, and the rest of the staff for making our stay memorable.

The breakfast selection and presentation was wonderful! Staff were pleasant and efficient. Room was smaller than expected, but comfortable. Shutter and bathroom sink need repair.

Lovely historic hotel. Staff was very nice and informative, rooms were clean and beds were comfy.

Historic old house, great staff. Lobby beautiful. It is convenient, within walking distance of many downtown locations. In room fridge and A/C noisy. King bed was good. Tub with shower, risky -no tub mat. Paper plates and bowls like many mid range motels for breakfast. Bakery goods average, we were there a Sunday morning. Parking nearby and on street in front if weekend. We will consider for future stays.

My room as at the front of the hotel facing the street. So, I got quite a bit of noise late at night from outside. The curtains also let in a lot of light at night from the street lights. Had I stayed in another room it may have been different. Otherwise a charming hotel with very friendly staff. I’d stay again, but in a room off the Main Street.

This is an older property but is very clean and has a great continental breakfast. The area is very walkable and has great dining options. I would stay here again in the future

Loved the history and decor. Greensboro’s first electric elevator still in service. Tons of dining options. Highly recommend!

This was a great unique place to stay. It's wonderful to be warmly greeted and then offered wine and cheese. I'd definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and the location is great, but the quaint charm of an old hotel didn't do it for me. The internet was spotty, and there's no consideration for environmental sustainability.

Scuff marks on the wall, bathroom fixtures loose or broken. Cosmetic repair is needed. Staff was very friendly.

Reception guy was friendly first day but kind of stand offish at checkout. Not sure who poured water on his cereal. Speaking of cereal the continental breakfast was actually quite excellent. Almost anything that you could possibly think of including DIY waffles. Walls look freshly painted in room and it was clean. No bugs. Bedspread was definitely old school but clean and no stains. I Elevator was an attraction and even though of an original 1903 old school design worked perfectly with no weird mechanical scary noises. I would definitely go back to stay there on my next trip to Greensboro.

Wonderful property with a wonderful staff. This property is so full of history with a staff that loves to tell you about it. They are knowledgeable and passionate. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I loved how this property is walkable to so many great restaurants and bars.

What a great hotel!

I was so excited to stay at this historic hotel in my hometown while back in town visiting for my niece's graduation. What this hotel is and what this hotel could be are vastly different. As you pull up, you see a beautiful older facade. Enter the building and the lobby is immaculate. Stained wood panel walls, large fireplace, plush historic type seating. That's about where the charm stops. Not because it has to, but because the owners have let it(more on that in a moment). I do want to continue with positive before constructive. The kindness of the staff is unparalleled. Zoe(I hope I spelled that right) was extremely kind. She doesn't seem to like to make eye contact, but very kind and prompt. The only feedback on staff I have is, in a hotel like this, uniforms or more formal clothing would be befitting. The elevator is also one of the oldest in the city. It can seem cumbersome at first, but operates better than most modern and so neat enjoying that experience of pulling the brass grates back and opening the door. Now, the more constructive. The dining room is very closed off and the feeling reminds me of a nursing home dining room. No character, no feeling of warmth. The bedroom, while having a great view of the street and alleyway below, needs major renovation. Busted hollowcore door from bedroom to living, stained, wrinkled carpet, unnecessary furniture clogging pathways, 4 inch 1970s tiles in bath, 20 inch tvs, and maintenance issues from water stains to bad paint.

The staff went above and beyond in every possible way!!!

I love a historic property and this place has been lovingly repurposed. It is beautiful, but also has all the amenities to make a visit comfortable and convenient.
2.0 / 5.0
Lead based paint peeling off walls, water stained ceilings combined with a commode that would not shut off is not a very good impression for a room that was almost $200.00 per night. There was a plaque on the exterior wall. That stated this building was the recipient of a grant for renovations. I’m not sure when that plaque was placed, but this beautiful old building deserves some major renovations to bring it back to the state of its original beauty. Constant T LC is necessary for A building of this age.

This is a very unique, old world, 19th century type hotel. Four poster bed, red velvet curtains tied with gold tassel ropes, old style lamps and comfortable reading chairs, and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and staff.

It was great

I like the uniqueness of the property, plus the 30s and 40s feel!

I didn't mind the historic look but it definitely needed some upgrades. Some walls and ceilings in the property needed work. I had the muffin for breakfast and it tasted molded. We stayed one night and couldn't sleep because of people arguing outside our window. Staff were friendly.

It was really fun staying in the unique rooms of the hotel. It is a nice place with friendly staff and breakfast was very good.
