The stay was great but our AC unit was freezing, they fixed it, and then it was boiling. We ended up just turning it off but other than that our stay was great. The hotel was very Austin. We really enjoyed the swim club.

The garage is horrible. Signs are on one side to pay and then it's easy to scrape your rims on the other side, as you are looking on the pay side on the other side. Did I mention, this messed up my new car. Also, valet didn't budge when I pulled up. I had to walk up to them. Front desk said everyone scraps their rims in the garage, including themselves. When I checked in, they made me pull out my laptop and show them the free parking and $22 credit per day, then only gave me $20 credit for two days. The customer service was very poor. When I asked for any questions, they seemed bothered to help. Overall, meh. I'm most upset about messing up my car for a subpar hotel experience. I won't stay there again. Also, when I was checking out, the only front desk person, got in line behind me to get a coffee for herself, and then asked to give me a small breakfast credit for all my trouble as I was checking out. What will I do with a breakfast credit when I'm leaving, already bought a coffee, and have someplace to be by a certain time? It's like the customers are an afterthought to their own personal needs. Also, when I checked in, the front desk clerk complained about how they were tired from working last night and today, late afternoon. Meanwhile, I had 4 hours of sleep and commuted from one major city to another. It seemed like I was providing more customer service to the employees there than they did for me.

Traveled as a family (two adults and two small children). Some things you might not know just from the webpage if you haven't stayed here: 1. There is nowhere to leave your car while you check-in. Either you go into self-parking (and pay for it) or you go to the valet (and pay for it) or you ask the valet nicely if you can leave your car parked along the edge for 10 minutes. In my case, the valet was nice and let me do that, but he did make clear that the standard expectation is to pull into self-parking EVEN WHILE checking in. 2. The rooms are art-deco sort of rooms. That is neat and all in the look, but a bit less so in practical aspects. For instance, there is no dresser for your clothes, and no microwave. We asked about both. They were more than happy to have a microwave brought up to our room (within the hour of request) and leave it there for the duration of our stay. I heard them offer the same to another guest who asked, so it must be a regular thing. Nothing they could do about the lack of clothes storage. We simply left our clothes inside the suitcase for four days. 3. If you buy the food package, you get a card good for "two breakfasts", but it isn't quite like you might expect from other hotels. It isn't a buffet rights for two people. Rather, you wait in line and order from the cashier your particular breakfast request. They have about six or seven main meals, and a few side options. Doesn't matter how much the meal costs (on the menu), you ge
