The stay was fine. Main reason for picking this hotel was that it had a restaurant in the building. The food was delicious but our waiter was terrible. I watched him talk with people at another table for about 10 minutes taking his cell phone our several times to show something to the people at the table. Meanwhile someone else refilled our drinks for us. Also had too wave him down after getting to go boxes to get the check to pay for the meal.

This hotel is dated, and smells old. The lobby is hot, as are the hallways.
The carpets have not been cleaned in a while. I stepped into the shower then back out into the room to get shampoo. When I stepped back in the shower I had muddy foot prints.
Half the rooms face the pool. All the pool noise is made louder by the shape of the roof. The pool rules state the pool is for registered guests only, but there was a pool party for 30+ local kids. They were being dropped off by their parents.
The breakfast is powdered eggs, sausage links, cold biscuits and gravy. There is cut fruit if you get there early, like at 6am. Same goes for milk for cereal and juice. There is plenty of bland coffee. You may not leave the breakfast area with any food.
The binder in the rooms are out of date. The onsite eatery is Mexican, not a grill and seafood place.
The elevators are well used and one has no display for the floor numbers.
There was some sort of car meet up in the parking lot that had nothing to do with the hotel, but took up most of the parking spaces.
Alton has had better days, and so has this hotel.

Hotel is becoming run down, and staff were not very friendly, with the exception of the person who checked us in

It was ok. The pictures make it look really clean and nice but its not. The elevator had pieces of wallpaper coming off, chunks missing & some held up with tape. The temp in the room was hard to get right. It was either to hot or muggy. The pool was broken during our entire 4 day stay.

Not a good first impression, when busy the hotel is very loud and the breakfast staff is ill equipped. The hotel seemed newer, but the room seemed old and beat up. The carpet was lumpy, the lights didn't all work, and the "ADA" adjustable showerhead had seen better days. There were two elevators, but only one seemed functional, that's disconcerting when my wife can't do stairs at all. The breakfast wasn't on par to other Best Western hotels that we stayed at, but when not busy at least, had eggs potatoes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and fruit.

Front desk staff was very nice, hotel is nice with a few noted cleanliness issues around the pool and shower. There is also a very nice Mexican restaurant inside the hotel,which is nice.

We requested a nonsmoking room and our room smelled like cigarette smoke. We were able to move to another room, but it was on the ground floor, next to the atrium. There are large glass windows that take up the whole wall. The noise is nonstop from the pool and people in the atrium. There was a group of people sitting right next to our room and the curtains didn’t shut all the way, so they could look into our room all night. The bathtub faucet and drain were both broken. The toilet seat was broken. The bathroom was dirty with stains on the doors that looked they have never been wiped down. The majority of the outlets in the room did not work and some had tape over them. Overall a disappointing stay.

This trip was so the kids could swim in the pool, and it was FREEZING!! The kids swam for an hour before their lips were blue. It was about 20 degrees outside so maybe that’s why it was so cold, but the temperature in the pool room was even cold and I was wearing 2 long sleeve shirts.
Breakfast was fine, but there were a lot of issues with running low on different things. The staff were very nice. Probably will never stay again since we choose hotels based on the pool for our kids.

One of the best places I’ve stayed for a long time. Love that they have an insight restaurant and they had the best breakfast buffet. Loved the pancake maker!

We have been staying here on and off for 8 years when we visit family, it has been going down hill the last 3 years. I will not blame them for the temperature in the hotel, it was -5 outside but the lobby was fringed . the front desk person had to ware an outdoor jacket and we sat at breakfast with jackets on. Break fast was altered, we could order food, which we did but it was ice cold so I was pointed to a microwave. The room itself had issues with the heat/AC it was not fully connected to the wall so it was blowing both hot and cold air was coming in from the outside. Last there as no mention the pool was closed when we made the reservation. AND when I go there i asked and the front desk person said it was open. Went to the room changed and took my grandson down only to see a sign that said it was closed for maintenance.

The room had mold in the bathroom and the room smelled of chloride as if it had been poured into the bathtub. The "continental breakfast" was horrible. The scrambled eggs were the same style powedered eggs as the Army DFAC. The pastries all had flies all over them and a majority of the "hot" food was ice cold.

10/10 don't recommend! Everything about this place was a let down. Upon booking no where did it state the restaurant inside this location was closed. We found that out after the fact. The extra money paid for "pool view" was simply just that a view. The sliding glass doors were barred off so you couldn't access the pool from the room. The walls and doors are thin and could hear everything including every door slammed shut. The toilet seat in the bathroom was barely hanging on and pinched the back of my legs every time I used the restroom. The shower door did not seal properly causing water to leak all over the ice cold ceramic floor. The shower also had NO slip resistance and about fell a couple times just trying to shower. The breakfast... it showed breakfast was available till 11 on the weekends, a little after 10 everything was already cleaned up and put away. The amount of money that was spent was extreme for the less than stellar amenities they clame to offer.

Restaurant and bar were closed up. (Nothing mentioned on their website), The sheets on one of the beds were dirty. (Hopefully it was just pizza sauce!) Supposedly the manager couldn’t be reached (Although the desk clerk had two conversations with her while I stood there) Dining area carpet was absolutely filthy. Heated pool??? It was more like a polar plunge! This use to be a pristine place to stay until it went under new management.Needless to say, I will never stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

I reserved 2 rooms, both king beds. At check in our friends were given room keys to a room that someone's luggage was in. They were given a room with 2 queen beds instead of king. Disappointed that the restaurant/bar was permanently closed. Not bad for one night.

The property itself was not well maintained. Only one elevator worked therefore we had to wait twice as long for an elevator to reach the 4th floor where we were staying. There was only one ice maker working on the fourth floor. We went out for the day and the housekeeper came into our room to provide us with fresh towels and when one of my family members went to use the toliet, we found a very "fresh" NOT so nice surprise left in there for us. The was smell of pot and smoke throughout the hallways, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. The first night we were there, there was an "okay" pub and grill and then the next night it was closed permanently. I complained about the toliet incident and was told all they could do was talk to the housekeeping manager and could not give me credit for all the issues. Not even an apology. I give this place 6 months under this new ownership.
