The pros: great beach location. If you like walks on the beach, this place is great. The TV in the room was excellent and the beds were comfortable. Great staff. The cons: small room with very little surfaces to put your stuff. No bathrobes or slippers. Bathroom was very small. No grab handles in the bathtub, I almost slipped a few times when taking showers. Restaurant food was okay, nothing special. Poor signage in the corridors for the stairs.

We have been coming here for decades and watched as it deteriorated. The change they have gone through is incredible!! Rooms are gorgeous, staff is so friendly and service oriented, what a wonderful rebirth.

The staff was nice, but the room didn’t have a microwave, the refrigerator is only big enough to hold candy bars and not even a half gallon of milk, the drain plug in the bathtub didn’t work so I couldn’t give my daughter a bath like she wanted, the chrome cast option to stream content to the tv didn’t work. The ice machine is only on one side of the building which is a far walk if your on the other side like I was. A can of soda is $5. The door also doesn’t seal well so there’s an actual breeze through the door frame. The couch was so firm that it hurt to sit on it for too long. There’s also no ventilation in the bathroom. I used the bathroom on the 4th floor so I didn’t have to in my room. The hot tub was okay but if you go by the corner of it, there was a horrible smell that smelled like old thrown out seafood or something. There’s also no lighting in the pool and hot tub area after dark (at least while I was there). The pool has a light inside of it, but nothing else in the area. Will definitely not stay here again.

I’m in the area a lot. The hotel is newly remodeled so it was very clean and smelled faintly of new furniture and paint, in the best way, much preferable to some of the musty damp I’ve had closer to Pacific Grove or shoddy new construction in Marina. Convenient location near Hwy 1 and the beach. However many of the amenities are not finished (sauna and cold plunge tubs), available (yoga is seasonal) or WiFi buggy (e-bikes). Parking was expensive considering the relatively secluded area and more in line with the Marriott than the rest of the hotel’s “amenities”.

Check in staff super friendly! Bell hop awesome! I go every year. Its remodeled and very clean updated room. Bed very comfortable. Food delicious. My favorite plave to stay on the beach!

We love this Hotel. The renovation was excellent. I would have given 5 stars except that our room was directly under the lounge area and the movement of chairs above us was very loud. We were woken up early in the morning by chairs/tables scraping along the floor upstairs. Maybe simple pads under the chair and table legs would be a simple solution.The staff took note of this problem. The staff was friendly and professional. We loved the fire pits and choices of seating areas along the walkway. Of course the view is fabulous. The restaurant with its amazing view and excellent food is very special. We recommend this hotel and will stay again,( just in a different room!)

This is such an improvement, the staff are much nicer, rooms totally redone, very nice amenities. Be aware of parking and amenity charge that is not shown on the site it is pretty steep. 147 dollars for our two nights

Check in was extremely slow as only one staff member was dealing with all the arrivals. Our room was not as expected - overlooking the car park, dark and small. Reception (eventually) changed our room to an ocean view room - for which we paid a bit more. All other staff were excellent and the ambiance of the hotel was beachy, relaxed and pleasant. Lobby area overlooking the beach and bay was gorgeous.

We paid for our rooms on hotels.com but owed resort fees and taxes, which were quoted to be $50 something a night. Which was fine but when we got there all the extra fees, parking, taxes, pet cleaning fees and so much more ended up costing us close to what we initially paid for our rooms. The hotel was under construction so there was no convenient way to get to any rooms. I had a dog with me and asked for a room downstairs or close to an elevator. They gave me the most inconvenient room farthest away from elevator. It just wasn’t a pleasant stay. Not like it used to be. Food wasn’t very good and no more room service. The amenities we once enjoyed are gone now with new name and remodel of resort. We will most likely find a different resort for our family vacations.

Beautiful property right on the beach. Rooms were clean and updated. Staff was helpful and restaurant and bar was good and convenient. A free glass of wine with each room key was a nice touch. Location is within driving distance to most restaurants, golf and attractions. Pool was nice, although not heated so a bit more of a cold plunge even though we were there in July, it was surprisingly cold. There is a hot tub so that was nice. Enjoyed our stay would recommend!

We have stayed at this property before, approximately two weeks ago and we’re not charged a pet fee of $150. We were blindsided by this charge when we checked in. It does not state this charge anywhere on Expedia or on the website. The staff was completely void of empathy and insisted this has always been their policy.

It was nice. Just would have been nice to know about the parking fee per day being an additional $45 daily. The service to bring items needed was not timely but the room Was clean and nice and it was beautiful being right at the beach.

Staff was blah loud dog barking dog left in room we listened to for 2 days construction started at 8am. Customer service poor we checked out a day early and were never even asked how our stay was. We were there celebrating our 30th anniversary when checking in we had to wait quite a while to be told they were making sure our room was clean and stocked. When showering our shower gel and shampoo were empty. We were also informed that we are being charged a $45 fee per day for parking that I was never informed by hotels .com also couldn’t find this ridiculous fee on the hotel site.

Loved this hotel! Loved the beach right out your door! Loved all the areas to hang out outside. We didn’t get our ocean view due to a water line break but it didn’t matter at all, this hotel is amazing! I would definitely stay here again!

The entire hotel had a makeover, great job! The only negative I see is their parking fee and resort fee (are individually taxed as well)are almost $100 a night. Something to factor into your daily costs.

My family and I were not given a room until an hour after our initial check in promised time. We had an important reservation to get ready for and we completely missed it. Front desk was not very friendly. Not staying at this hotel ever again.

The first day of the trip was amazing, great location the weather was perfect, until the next morning we woke up to dogs barking in there rooms, I don’t mind dog friendly hotels because we are on the beach but when you are paying $500 + night you would like to hear the ocean!!! Instead we are having dogs going crazy because of there owners leaving them in their rooms by themselves. My wife and I love the location of hotel and all the amenities and the remodel but I will probably not book this hotel again.

There was no place to park outside the hotel so we had to park in the hotel parking, then they charged us $40 a day!! And the bathroom was super small.

Loved the newly renovated rooms in addition to the prime location right on the beach. Everyone was friendly and super welcoming. I gave it 4 start because we were certain that we left my husbands $300 shoes in one of the drawer but we called back about an hr after we checked out to see if the housekeeper who cleaned out our room found it and turn it in to lost & found but when I called about it I was told that nothing was found in the room which I know it wasn’t true because it was the last place we left it at and totally forgot to look in the drawers before we left, so I know for a fact someone found it and kept it for themselves which is not okay. People leave belongings behind all the time and it’s the right thing to do to hold it for a certain amount of time before discarding or until people return to claim them.

We were here for a mini vacation me and my husband. Just a little concern the pillows were to, to soft and flat. See room in 117 was very much mosquitos around.
