That was horrible when we check in the lady in the front desk tell us that we have a free breakfast in the morning between 6 AM to 10 AM. We went down to have breakfast and they tell us that they were a mistake that they will make that we don’t have any breakfast included because we book for Hotels.com then we looking for the room for like an hour the set up of the hotel. It’s so confused when you go back to the front desk and ask for help they don’t help you. They try to explain how is it then the hotel went out for like four hours without water and I had to take a shower in the pool. That was a horrible thing in this hotel.

Old run down hotel. They charge for everything. $30 for self parking. They say it’s a 3rd party with better security but they still won’t take responsibility if your car gets broken into. Careful not to take the water bottles in the room because they even charge for that. Check in was very unhelpful when an issue came up with my reservation through hotels.com. They immediately just blamed hotels.com and said to take it up with them. They didn’t even try to help, just immediately deflect the blame. I don’t care whose fault it was, I just needed the rooms I booked. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

At check-in the cashier handed me the room keys with no explanation or map of directions. The place is big. It was a beautiful day. The hotel is in a beautiful spot. The view and grounds are lovely. The room was nice. The patio was nice. $40.00 a day for parking is a bit much.

Old room. No mirror to accommodate multiple people getting ready especially a family. Check in staff unusually unfriendly. Night staff quick to clean up cushions and turn off fireplaces at 9 o’clock on a Friday and Saturday night. Our family has gone there for the last five years, and I was appalled at the service this year and questioning any repeat visits.

Disappointing surprise when first night charged $170 and second night charged $189. When I asked for an explanation I was told the rate fluctuates based on demand. Different days have different rates. This is not what I made a reservation for.

The front desk staff were incredibly rude, and they misled me about my room. I booked a room with one queen bed, but they put me in a double room with two beds instead. On top of that, I was surprised to find out I have to pay $4.99 for WiFi, which I don’t agree with. There’s no free WiFi, and I even have to pay for parking if I don’t eat at the hotel. The whole experience has been very frustrating.

The room was surface clean. The staff was …there. lol. I was severely overcharged for some snack items and then was told I was “not forced to buy them”when I questioned the charges and crazy taxes added after the charges. My friend got two small snack bags of chips and three starbursts and two candy bars and it was over $40. I paid extra for a balcony room and then had to pay an additional fee when checking in for that balcony room I already paid for. I was told “it is only a $25 charge”. It makes me wonder that if it is “only $25”, then why charge it in the first place. Also, you have to pay $5 to “upgrade” the Wi-Fi they say they have provided for the room that is already over $200. lol The view is spectacular though.

It was great until 2am when a man in the room above us started screaming about having war and throwing things and stomping and hitting the wall from what it sounded like, to the point where we had to call the front office to send someone to check on him, but other than that it was a great stay

I usually stay at Doubletree’s down in the Bay Area when I visit my friends and I’ve been to this one before and it was very comfortable. However, the last trip I didn’t get any sleep. The bed was rockhard and it felt like they had a subpar or secondhand mattress on it, which is crazy because they are known for their soft mattresses. Then the air conditioner didn’t work and of course I was by myself and didn’t feel comfortable leaving the door open so I had to wake up every two hours or so to open the door because it was so hot inside. There was also noise in the parking lot Throughout the night

The staff was courteous. The room was very nice. The building numbers confused me. The warm cookie 🍪 was a real plus. Parking is a little expensive. Only real issue was there was no hot water at night and no one to fix it til morning and ice machine was broken as well. But those were minor and i would recommend the facilities.

Description on hotels.com painted a picture of newly renovated rooms. That is misleading. While it may be true that there are renovated rooms, the one I stayed in was quite dated as was the wing where the room was located. Check in was so-so. Not especially rude, but definitely lacking enthusiasm. I also requested extra towels, but ended up finagling some from the cleaning lady who happened to be down the hall. This was not an extended stay so the cons are not a big deal to me. But I will think twice before booking here again.

Stayed there before in a patio room facing the marina. We loved it and used the patio every morning and often at sunset. This year we booked a balcony room facing the marina and it was not good. The balcony was littered with bird poop and unusable. We asked the front desk to clean it out and they only did part of it. The table and chairs will still soiled. We asked them to come again and they cleaned the furniture this time but birds were very active and the balcony was quickly realized by them. This was building 3. I think they should do a deep clean and add something to keep the birds out. Spinners. Streamers. Spikes. Etc.

My room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the marina and had a little balcony to enjoy the scenery like walkway and boats and yachts. The pool and gym were occupied and the little gym had enough weights for a workout. The Restaurant was a beautiful dining experience complete with seating next to a fireplace

The staff was super helpful during the stay. We came back to our room after a concert almost at midnight and found that mice were in the room as their was droppings in the bathroom and in our beds. When we tried to call the front desk, the phone didn't work because the cord was destroyed. Once we were able to call them, they did move us rooms up higher. (Couldn't leave the hotel as it was 4th of July weekend and everything was booked!). They did offer to waive the parking fee and some of the cost of the room back to us. They did tell us that we would have extra Hilton Honors points added to our account but that never happened. Over all, staff was great. Just don't stay on the ground floor in the back of the hotel!

Hilton is desperately in need of an upgrade for their TV service. This is the only big hotel in the Berkeley area that does not have smart TV service. I should be able to watch YouTube for the price I pay.
