My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Upper Canyon Inn and Cabins, and we couldn't be more satisfied with our experience. The wood decor in our cabin added a charming rustic touch that made us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the whirlpool bath, which provided the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, enhanced by the visits from mule deer and elk right up to our porch—an unforgettable sight! The hosts were wonderful, always pleasant and accommodating. They even went out of their way to ensure I could attend an important online meeting on time, which was greatly appreciated. It was also evident that the property is undergoing upgrades, as our cabin featured newly furnished materials and furniture, making our stay even more comfortable. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time amidst the pines and cooler weather, and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended!

Check in was easy. The lady that checked us in was very friendly. Gave us restaurant suggestions that ended up being great places. Room was nice. The only thing was in the shower. The water didn't stay consistent. It would go real hot or real cold for about 30 seconds. We would stay here again.

We booked Cabin 14 for a nice overnight getaway. We liked the pictures and thought it was quaint and nice; however upon checking in our room was half the size portrayed in the pictures and was NOT CLEAN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. After showering in the morning and walking around after getting g ready to dress I literally had to re-wash my feet as they were filthy before putting shoes on. DONT STAY HERE if you like cleanliness. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful but the room was not at all what we expected.

My husband and I went there for our 1yr wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. It was beautiful, quite and super clean and comfy.The hot tub in the room was so amazing.We honestly didn't want to leave.We are already planning our next trip hopefully for a while longer next time but no matter what we'll be back. The room was ok, a bit smaller than expected and showed some age. Lighting was terrible, especially in the bathroom. Only one light and it was so dark by the bathroom mirror that it was impossible to shave or apply makeup. The shower would constantly switch back and forth from painfully scalding hot to fully cold and back to scalding hot. There was no setting that would stop this. There was no place to put our suitcase except the floor. A table or stand would have been nice. This room also had no hooks anywhere for coats or hats, so our jackets had to be in the chairs or on the floor. All of this added up to a ruined anniversary weekend for us. Next trip, we will stay somewhere else.

Beautiful, clean.property and darling toom! Room needed some coffee mugs, we couldnt enjoy a nice warm cup of anything! Toiletries were NOT AVAILABLE at the room, should hsve been supplied.

The communication was fairly terrible, as simple as instructions on how to work the electronic door lock would have been helpful. The original construction was solid, the brother-in-law absolutely not up to code renovations were comical, I don't know how New Mexico stays open. I mean the very long extension cord that was plugged in by the tub that blocked one of the exit doors and went over to power the microwave and refrigerator type of not up to code.

Everything was awesome and I love staying at this Cabin every time! Always clean and so comfortable beds! The only thing is that the hot tub was not working, and we killed two spiders 😂 But overall I always recommend this place to friend and coworkers

The property was great! My complaint was is with Expedia! I got charged double because somehow the room got double booked! I called customer service and was on the phone with them for 2 hours! They blamed it on the hotel and the hotel blamed it on Expedia!! The next day I tried again with Expedia and got nothing! I ended up paying double for a single room!!

Of all the many places I have stayed in my life of travel this is the dirtiest and poorly furnished. I did go down to the office (not on the property) and they did offer up a other cabin which I did agree to. This was at dusk so when I looked at it, it appeared cleaner. I went out to eat and when I came back and turned the lights on I saw it was filthy. The office closed at 5pm so I could not talk with anyone. I did read reviews on this property which rated it high. I dont know who presented the reviews but I can assure you they were fake. Shame on Expedia for doing business with this property. I have pictures including the dirty bathtub and dirty pillowcases

The lodge suites are overpriced. There are places in town that cost less and offer more, like daily housekeeping service and breakfast. The lodge suite rooms were much smaller than they appeared on the website. The kitchenette offers cheap coffee (until it runs out), but no creamer and not enough silverware for two people. Check-in after hours was painful. I did not receive an email with instructions and once I had my envelope with lots of details about check-out instructions (incl. taking out the trash), the access code to get into the room was missing. Repeated calls to the emergency number were ignored. The owner is a charming fellow and apologized, but offered nothing to make up for the unsatisfactory experience. Instead, I listened to a long explanation about the difficulty of hiring enough employees and employees being out sick. I understand that, but perhaps they should rent fewer cabins if they can't get the job done right for all customers.

Absolutely beautiful location!! If you want to stay close to the shops and restaurants of Ruidoso but still want a taste of the forest and mountains, definitely stay here. The cabins are located on a quiet little road surrounded by trees so you feel nestled away even though you're only a 5 minutes' drive from the main road. We also got a discount at the gift shop for staying with them, which is convenient if you want to get some souvenirs.
