Our floor had a weird smell as soon as you got off the elevator. The ac in our room didn’t work properly. The room was run down stained carpet missing patch and damage to the wall outside of the bathroom. Left the hotel at 7am and returned around 3:30 to 4pm and house keeping hadn’t cleaned the room yet.

Bought a delux king size room was given two queens and there’s nothing else they could do for me not refund me part of my money for having the better room and no other options in making it right. There was hair on the floor of bathroom

I booked this hotel to greet my son as he arrived back from deployment. The first night of the stay my daughter was awakened by a bed bug crawling on top of the sheet by her face. She saved the bug and gave it to management. I was not offered a discount or refund for this major inconvenience but I was moved to a large room. However, given that bed bugs can cause physical damage and if they travel back to my home it will be an expensive undertaking to remediate. I’m very disappointed!
3.7
Rooms are hit and miss, entrance is a disaster, parking is tight and the staff are very odd, rude and argumentative. Stay here if you’re trying to save a buck, otherwise look elsewhere. I travel to SD about 3 times a year, I would not stay here again.
3.7
The hotel is old and smells funny. We had 3 rooms and all 3 rooms were hot and semi clean. The showers trickle out and the parking garage is a mess put they charge $30 a day for parking

This property doesn't offer free breakfast, but does offer a very expensive version of the free breakfast you get at any best Western or other hotel offering free breakfast. Even a coffee was $3 and $22 for adult and $13 for kids. But again, just a low quality breakfast buffet. It's run down and we didn't even get a cleaning for stay over, so trash and such wasn't taken out. Had to ask for cups etc since they don't clean between days. The pool was nice, the beds were comfy. Parking costly and a VERY TIGHT SQUEEZE. It was the worst, but I won't go back.
3.7
It was pretty disgusting. Our room was so dirty and dusty. Stained carpets and filthy floors. I feel uncomfortable sleeping there.
3.7
The hotel was good for the most part. We didn’t have issues that other reviewers did but we did miss two major details. Parking is an additional cost, $33 per night at the time of this writing. This is also my fault for not properly researching, but I’m writing this to warn others like myself who assumed a continental breakfast would be complimentary. Not only is it pricey but it’s also a basic breakfast.
Outside of those two things, the hotel was fine. I had a 4 night stay and housekeeping only cleaned our room once. I don’t understand how that happens especially when we were out of the room all day every day. The walls were a bit thin if that’s a concern.

would not stay again, there was a weird smell
3.7
Needs to be renovated badly and the alarm clock went off 3 o’clock in the morning waking me and my family up.
3.7
The beds were comftarble how ever the room smell really bad and we had to deal with a damage bathroom door . Room service was interesting . As I was taking the kids to the pool the front desk lady and the person taking the food were making uncomfortable comments about the guest receiving the room service . Little did they know that the room service was for my husband and my kids . I normally don’t make comments but these individuals almost took our drinks and food among them. They made commemts about how much it was spent in room service and making assumptions about the payments . The room service had already being charged on my card and we were probably profile for our color . Very poor service .

Christine at front desk needs to be recognized for her Outstanding customer service.
3.7
It was very difficult getting in and out of the parking garage. Loading and unloading blocked access to other passengers. My wife and I had issues with sewer gas smell on the upper floor during peak water usage. The staff did the best they could with what they had to work with. Hotel needs major renovations.
3.7
One of the reasons for booking this location was due to the site saying breakfast was included. When we had breakfast it was $22 per person(5) and they told me it wasnt included. Hotel did nothing to try and fix the situation they simply said contact Expedia

We stayed for 3x nights for work / an event I had to attend nearby. The rooms were OK. It was a good size for the king suite, however I don't think it was worth the price. All in, I paid over $300/night. Our tooms had a lingering smell of cigarettes and even some burns on the carpet. The water pressure was horrible and a terrible smell came up from the pipes occasionally. We had new neighbors nightly that were up yelling, cursing & partying. It was awful. I complained to the front desk after the first night of lost sleep, who told me that they were checking out so it would be better. Unfortunately, more rowdy guests arrived and the problem repeated itself. Staff were all friendly but overall our experience was sadly mediocre. I won't stay here again.
3.7
I did not like the garage location or how difficult it was to drive thru.
3.7
For being part of the Hilton family you really feel nickeled and dimes here. For starters they charge for parking in an area where there is only hotel parking. Another example is that they charge $3 for a bottle of Kirkland water. These can be obtained for as low as $0.22 per bottle.
3.7
The hotel is in need of a face lift. Great staff, but rooms were worn and showing their age.
3.7
Only thing i like was Ana who checked us in who was really nice .

3.7
Terrible parking
Filthy room, uncleaned and moldy
Stale and musty AC unit that barely runs
Transient all around the property
Unregulated pool hours
Unruly guests left unattended (shouting, yelling until 11PM, consuming controlled substance)
3.7
Dated, wall paper starting the peel/separate from wall. Tile floor grout rather dirty. Bed was comfortable, sheets clean and carpet appeared to be newer.
3.7
Loud banging above our room blankets that were moldy and it took over an hour to get more toilet paper because there was only a half a roll when we got into our room. The place needs a remodel for the price they charge per night. Also was listed for free breakfast but since we booked through 3rd part free breakfast was not free for us.
3.7
Our room had more than enough beds for my family of 5
3.7
This hotel was nice, it has all the amenities we needed for our stay. The pool and spa were nicely heated. The hotel was close enough to sea world and the other area attractions.
3.7
The hotel was ok except first room smelled and had stains on the floor second room a/c didn’t work and one of the rooms had fleas flying around pretty bad
3.7
Staff was amazing. Ac in the room was not working very well it was very humid in the room all night. Drain in bath tub clogged. Bed was comfy
3.7
Not many amenities for the price
3.7
Overpriced, smelly, dirty carpets and bad condition in general
3.7
Room had trash on floor from previous occupant-furniture covering torn, hair in shower from prior occupant. The shower stall was a walk in , so had to put towels to catch water from going into bathroom when taking shower.
Grounds were nice , staff friendly .
3.7
A horrible experience. My room and bathroom was in poor condition. The staff wasn’t welcoming. The floors were stained and bathtub was extremely dirty and we couldn’t take a bath.
3.7
Breakfast is not complimentary.
3.7
Building in poor conditions, bathroom door didn’t close, cracked glass stains everywhere. Couch bead all wires no mattress patting left, staff wouldn’t help
3.7
Make sure you know which double tree your staying at since there are three in the same area. We drove to the wrong location on hazard at when we should of gone to the the location on circle. The front desk on the first location sent us to the wrong address it was very confusing and frustrating after a 5hr drive. Once at the correct hotel and room the a/c was not on prior of our arrival so the room was hot! Other issues were the outlet covers were not on correctly so the only place we could use a charger was in the bathroom. Bring a fan if you stay here air conditioning blow so low on one side you could not feel it. Shower pressure was hardly there too.
3.7
Service room sucks. Housekeeping was good. The parking lot is super tight and they charge 33 dollars per night extra even though u pay to stay at their property u still have to pay the parking
3.7
I had a problem with the bathroom ceiling
3.7
The first room smelt like smoke and then the next room had stains on the carpet bathroom was not clean and door were filthy
3.7
Easy to get to downtown San Diego
3.7
Cleanliness was less than standard, especially for a DoubleTree. And parking was horrible.
3.7
This property needs lots of upgrading. Our door wouldn't open easily, you had to tackle it, same to close. The bathroom wasn't cleaned well the mirrors on the closet doors were dirty, there was so much dust on the furniture. For a suite for a family of up to 5, more hangers would be nice especially for a week long stay. Better lighting especially for rooms with no windows. Parking was a hassle especially with an extra large suv.
I do have to say the staff was nice.
