The rooms are going under refurbishment which is great news however my room had no heating it the tower rail didn't work. There was an unpleasant and odor generally around the area

They had a full service gym attached to the hotel which was excellent. The breakfast offered a nice variety on both hot and cold side. Rooms were a bit small but I wasn’t planning to dance in it and the beds were comfortable.

Unfortunately my stay wasn't the best. Even though the staff were very friendly and helpful, the cleanliness and services let the hotel down.
The pool changing rooms were dirty and the floor was pretty disgusting with matted hair and dirt. It looked like it hasn't been cleaned all day (I went at 8pm), even though there was 3 staff on the Spa desk. I was hoping for a relaxing swim, unfortunately there was clubbing music blasting out and an aqua aerobics session on. It would of been nice to know this as I wouldn't of wasted my time.
The heating in the room was broken and the radiator didn't work. The lights also flickered and the duvet was very thin for winter months. There was a lovely girl on reception who swiftly brought me a mini radiator and another duvet, not ideal but my issue was resolved quickly.
There are no lifts and some of the rooms are well away from reception or the restaurants, so it's a bit of a mission to get around with your bags.
On a positive side, my room was an updated room and it was comfy and had all the amenities (apart from heating!). The gym was small, but of a very high standard with some brilliant equipment and much better than most hotels. The staff were also helpful and attentive.

I was bit disappointed on our second day steam room and sona room was not working. We were not informed about this. We were also disappointed with the breakfast everything was cold. Staff was helpful.

I was with my daughters! We had the same breakfast exept my youngest one had scrambled eggs! She became so I'll with food poison for 4 days!

Great quality room, spacious and high quality. Great shower , powerful and good temperature. Comfortable bed and bedding. Possibly higher tog duvet would be a suggestion but was very comfortable. Great breakfast options and quality

Not so good. Work was being done near our room. There was a door to the outside near our room left open which made it cold. Furniture was being moved around and we heard people talking in the corridor outside our room early in the morning.

The hotel and staff was exceptional my only concerns the night I stay was quite noisy as think weddings guests were staying also. So my room wasn’t soundproof as stated plus disturb twice by knocking on door by drunk guests at wrong door number. Apart from that I honestly enjoyed my stay .

I booked a wheelchair accessible room. I let them know I was a wheelchair user travelling alone in advance.
Unfortunately it seemed to be designed for the comfort of the carer of the disabled person.
This assumes all disabled people have carers (we don't, I travel alone) and that their needs are more important than the disabled person.
The issues with the room were :
The bathroom wasn't done to to the same standard as a normal doubletree bathroom. It felt more like an old hospital than a comfortable hotel.
Many things out of reach:
Reception - it said wheelchair access but what they meant is that from the main entrance to the room area you either have to go up stairs or walk 100m+ outside then go up a big step inside to ask for a ramp to be put down.
The emergency alarm in the room (which door safety should go to the floor, not to standing height so it can be pulled if one falls to the floor)
Getting through the front door to the part of the hotel with the room in
The main sink in the bathroom
The shower (head)
The tray in the shower to put your bottles of shower gel etc
The safe
The kettle
The iron
The ironing board
Curtains, so couldn't close them or the windows
The dressing gown
Bed was higher than maximum height recommended for wheelchair users

Choose to stay at this hotel to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary before our big party event . We were not disappointed. The hotel staff were very welcoming , polite and professional .

First l give credit to Front desk staff who were amazing by rearranging my dates mixup although l ended up paying more than l had expected. The manageress was brilliant and her colleague.✨
Thewas good and my room was on the quiet side which really helped as l am a light sleeper.

The room was freezing and no additional duvet was available. We were able to obtain a small electric heater to warm our room. We were so far from reception that we had no wifi. Could be better for the money.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was comfortable, no air con but it was July in the UK so raining:/ Had evening meal in the Bar (really nice) and breakfast had plenty of choice. Saw a couple of dog guests too, so might bring ours next time.

Swimming pool was out of use I understand that they are doing works to it no communication of this before arrival and hen on checking was told they are offering free cancellation if unhappy, would of been nice to know before hand via email, phone signal and WiFi was terrible for the first night couldn’t even connect. It just wasn’t the usual standard of a Hilton hotel, stayed in much better.

We booked an accessible room that was not accessible. We could not stay and left. In addition, the room was not ready when we arrived at 4 p.m. and to top everything off it was nit air conditioned, even though the temperature was 80 degrees.

This hotel has no lifts and lots of stairs. It is no good for anyone who finds stairs difficult. The rooms have no air conditioning and few sockets. Would only rate it 2/5

Very loud early hours of the morning. Could hear alarms from other rooms going off from 5am all the way through the morning. Doors slamming and shaking the room. Housekeeping tried to access my room at 08:15am, making a huge racket, even though I was due to check out a couple hours later!

We have stayed at this hotel twice before over 20 yrs ago, thats why we chose it.
The hotels decor has not changed and badly needs updating. The gym was closed as it was being painted.

The trip started well with a very friendly welcome and a lovely gift of hot cookies.
Unfortunately we were then told the restaurant was fully booked that evening so we had to venture into town, not ideal after travelling over 5 hours.
We were also advised that the Spa and Swimming Pool were not available due to an issue and would be back in use the next morning, which turned out to be late afternoon .
I made a booking for our party of 4 for the restaurant on the Saturday evening at 7pm with reception, bearing in mind it was fully booked on the Friday.
When we turned up on the Saturday, we were advised that our booking had not been forwarded and there was no space and that we would possibly be able to get a seat in a couple of Hours!!
There was no offer of alternative eating arrangements in the Terrace Bar, and when i took this up with the Reception Staff, their attitude was one, of not our problem, maybe we should go to the Marston Pub next to the Hotel or into Cheltenham.
Poor communication and awful attitude tainted what could have been an enjoyable stay, coupled with no Spa and Swimming facilities for most of the break.
This was my First Hilton experience, needless to say i wont be rushing to go with them again.

Great location and setting. Reception staff very nice and helpful, a nice touch with a warm cookie. Comfortable bed. Good gym and spa facilities. Bar and breakfast staff were slow and unhelpful. Had to wait a very long time for our drinks after having to go back to the bar twice. It wasnt even busy. A very special thanks to Phil from the maintenance team, who had to step in and sort out the breakfast service. Overall a pleasant stay.

when arriving for dinner in the restaurant we were told they couldn't accommodate us as they were short staffed in the kitchen. there were only 3 tables occupied & set seating for a hundred or more. "go to the bar there are snacks available there" Consequently we had no evening meal at all.
No Lift if you've heavy bags & parking is a long walk.

It is a lovely hotel, very peaceful and quiet area. It could use a bit of redecoration in certain sites but it is clean enough and still very comfortable with all the amenities. Breakfast is superb (I would say above average for the chain hotels) and this is one of the very few hotels where you can actually open the windows! (and there is a garden outside so it is actually pleasant to do). Swimming pool is again maybe a bit old but perfectly good and comfortable to use. It is a great place for a relaxing stay to detach from the daily stress; not so much if you really need a good wifi as this can be really sluggish, although maybe there is a way around it (I think they have some premium wifi service there but there will be likely an extra fee).
