Some reception personnel was unapproachable, in the main tower, they would not acknowledged me untill I made contact. The key cards kept unactivating, at one point our card was activated for a different room. The pools closed at an earlier schedule than on the websites. Other than that it was good.

What can I say? Food was horrible all the way around between three restaurants and a snack bar. Rooms were filthy and the bathroom had mold crawling up the walls. There was no one tending the beach or pool areas so there was trash everywhere. Game room was a joke. I wouldn't pay more than $60-80 a night. Basically you're paying for a room. It was ridiculous to have to walk around with a cup to get served for beverages. Sort of like prison. No cup no service

I had booked and paid for a quad room with a view for my sons graduation celebration. There was a total of 6 people with us with 3 rooms booked. When we got there, they told me that I had the very basic standard room with no view. My husband showed them the expedia confirmation with the room I booked. They still denied it and forced us to pay an extra $4200 pesos for the room I had already paid for. I getbthat its off season and you need to make money, but I had proof of what I paid for and they refuse to refund me. Expedia also tried to get my refund with thier proof of what I booked. The staff was nice though in general and the housekeepers were excellent about keeping the rooms clean, which was the best part of the stay. The food wasnt good and I'm pretty sure the alcohol had somethig wrong with it because it tasted like chemicals. We also saw a lot of roaches on the lower floors. Which I get because its where it is, but they smashed ones stayed on the lobby floors for hours. I'll never stay there again. They also said they had activities like kayaks and wave boards etc... we never saw any of those or saw anyone else use them. Not sure they existed. The pool was also shut down for the 1st day because someone deficated in it. So, we never got in it obviously.

We found the resort to not be as advertised. The staff was very good, but the accommodations were lacking.

The air conditioning did not work the entire time we were there. We had to go outside in the heat and humidity because it was cooler than our room. Only two of the eight electrical outlets worked in the room, The plug would either not go in at all, or it would fall out of the outlet. The day we arrived, we could not use the pool because someone had pooped in it. The rest of the week we didn’t go in the pool because they looked dirty. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would not recommend anyone staying at this resort.

I like the price of the hotel. I needed a hotel room not too expensive because I only needed it for one night as I already had reservations somewhere else for the rest of my trip. The price and hotel description of Villa Varadero met my criteria. The hotel would benefit from a touch up, a renovation. The elevator is old, and it made a scary noise as it was moving. The towels were clean, but they were stained. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options to choose from, but the quality and flavor of the food was not the best. My daughter and I didn’t eat our food. The staff was friendly, and the service they provided was good. Thank you!

The location is excellent, bar service is good at the pool, very limited choice of drinks. Food is good enough to get by but far from excellent. The building is dated, ac in bedroom didn’t work, toilet plugged the first two days, lights are poor, only one plug in in the bedroom, cockroach’s in our sink and under fridge, key cards quit several times. I would probably look for another place rather than stay there again.

Old building very tired and double beds too small. Food choices limited and food was medicore. Cheap liquor with minimal choices and no good. Beer was good. Construction on pool while there but was not informed. Pools too small. Staff were friendly and good to deal with. No nightly entertainment. Won't be back. Stayed 1 week late Feb 2024.

The property is very tired. The rooms almost shabby and skeevy. Pictures on Expedia look nothing like what property is today. Pool under reconstruction!! Really unappealing.
Thank goodness the staff was helpful and friendly.

The beds were clean but our bathroom had a nasty leak in the ceiling above the toilet that they used towels to catch the drip and mold. We read reviews ahead of time and were not expecting a 4 star however every thing you read about is true. Jackhammering the pool for days on end. The constant loud music until after 11pm at night. They say 10:30 is quiet time but I laid there with my head between two pillows looking at my phone at 11:07 and music was still pumping. This is definitely a hotel meant for families with kids. It’s not a couples get away. Food was…okay. The staff was amazing. They tried their best to accommodate you in any way possible, no complaints there. Drinks, plain and simple suck!!

Very noisy

*The beds are very small for a 6'3" person to sleep comfortably in. *A lot of the beach chairs are too light duty as they "fold up" when you sit in them, the rear legs bend out and make for an uncomfortable sitting position,..I personally stacked 2 chairs up and sat on those as they hold their shape then. *food was fine, as are the options to enjoy them in. *The al-a-cart diner was great!....the only issue there was that at first they didnt want to allow my youngest grandson to be able to attend dinner with us as he is less than 11 years old..I said i'm not going to force any family member to sit in the room while we eat....much less a little boy.. You do need to work on that detail as it almost ruined our dinner night. *The beach I think is far superior to what we have experienced at Puerto Vallarta across the river! * *Nearness to several local excursions based out of the marina ans well as restaurants in that area too. **Overall it was a very enjoyable trip**

Great beach. Suite furniture is dated (should be upgraded). Issues with door lock had to try opening several times before it would open. Room next door. Had the same issue

In 3 days we moved to 3 different rooms. From loud music, non working refrigerators and brown bath water it was not our favorite stay.

I liked the hotel as is was very family-oriented.

Lot's of appliciances or other things were broken or needed maintainance. Staff was very friendly but some bar tenders were quite inexperienced and sometimes quite tired. Rules were never enforced. Rooms didn't have good noise (and smell!) insulation. The live music was not to our taste and very loud. Lot's of noises in general (from playgrounds, etc). Beach was very nice when people there followed the rules. It seems like their target audience is mexican families from the rural areas. Experience was not comfortable for people coming from up north.

We left after one hour. Though on the top floor , we heard music and voices and all manner of nonsense the entire hour. Not to mention that we were given room 2700 which I'd directly beneath the mechanics for the lift/elevator. So each time someone used the lift it sounded like someone was banging on the wall when we asked to change rooms, the receptionist shrugged his shoulders and decided he suddenly had no more rooms, despite having clearly had many at check-in. They will force you to wait for a bell boy to arrive rather than give you your room key. Despite having made it clear we had an hour to eat, he still made us wait until my sister said, no we aren't waiting. We can find a room. Terrible. We left after we a

BE WARNED! If you book here; this resort caters to Spanish speaking locals only, we took our family of 6 & were the only, non locals at the resort. Not one guest spoke English. A few staff members spoke limited broken English, however all signs at the resort other than emergency signage were in Spanish, including food/menu items were in Spanish only. The room smelled of urine and had mold all over the bathroom. Housekeeping services were terrible and only cleaned the floor once in 7 days and did not empty garbageor clean the bathroom or sink once. The food was terrible, practically inedible if not for the salad, which we are all week. Our kids barely ate anything. Oh yeah and they have no glassware at the resort so be prepared to be given a plastic cup that you write your name on in Sharpie and carry everywhere if you want a drink. And if you lose your cup amongst the thousand other matching cups people are carry around, be prepared to pay out of pocket for a replacement.
We were completely bamboozled by the Expedia and Villa Veradero websites, which are written and described all in English. None of the promises made claiming, “friendliest resort in Nuevo Vallarta”, family friendly, welcoming, fresh satisfying food” excellent cleanliness standards, were even close to true. We subjected to racism, our kids were called names, faced discrimination, we were pointed at and laughed at. It was a joke, what a complete disappointment and absolute waste of hard earned money and time.

My room was located on the 7th floor and it just felt so hot to get to my room. Thankfully there was AC in the room. There was nothing to do besides getting breakfast in the morning and walking by the water. The views and getting into the water late evening were the best from my stay.

This resort was super family friendly. It was very private and I enjoyed having a peaceful vacation with our adult children. The beach was not packed and there was always a place to lay in the sun or shade. we especially liked the rooftop garden pool and bar.

If you’re looking for a real authentic Mexican experience then this is the place to stay. Although not all the staff were fluent in English, they were very friendly and eager to help. The food was amazing; every meal was different and the flavours were phenomenal! The beach was gorgeous and there were always palapas and chairs available. I would definitely recommend this resort and look forward to vacationing here again!

Great family resort with authentic Mexican cuisine.
Close to the small Marina & you can water ya do to Paradise Village.
Make sure you brush up on your Spanish because most of the staff do not speak a lot of English!

Great ocean front location! Staff was very accommodating and helpful!

This is a nice place for Mexican families. The pools are for children and the food is fine. The beach is fabulous! The staff wore masks, however below their nose or on their chin. The buffet was open so everyone handled utensils themselves which did not seem sanitary. The bars also did not feel sanitary and the drinks were not great. The location is great though and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. There are many excellent restaurants nearby and the marina is just steps away.

Our room smelled like toilet, the smell was persistent the entire time coming from the bathroom. The shower curtain had mold on it, the shower didn’t drain. The pillows were awful. Some of the food was disgusting. Suspicious looking pork skin, frozen pizza, instant diluted coffee. All just gross.

It is ok for short stay. Not very clean. Area is nice and beach crossing the street is gorgeous.
Breakfast was less than average.

Stayed in Villa Varadero for a wedding. The hotel is older and staff does the best they can, It is time to update basics, like rooms, bathrooms and most importantly- towels. The breakfast is awesome and access to beach is great.

Family oriented facility. Nice beach, not crowded . Food was good, nothing fancy, buffet style. Had trouble with the pillow.

Very noisy due to other guests partying and poor sound proofing.
Great location and beach

Spent 10 days at the resort with two friends. We were 100 percent satisfied with the resort. The staff was very accommodating to our needs. The food was good home style dining. Lots of choices at each meal. This is a family friendly resort so it was fun to watch local families enjoying the facilities. The beach was fabulous and there were plenty of chairs , longes at the beach front. Transportation is at the front of the resort. Can’t complain about anyone or anything. Been coming to PV for the last 20 years usually twice a year to various resorts. It all depends how much you want to spend and the location. Varadera is good value for your money.
