We were given conflicting stories on our pet. Listed as pet friendly and my partner recovering from a breakdown always travels with her pet. One checkin gal said no problem for emotional support pets. The next one at the desk as we passed told us no. While it is on the riverwalk as advertised it is almost half a mile walk to get to anything like restaurants. much easier to walk up top

The description of the hotel is not true. It is a small old building. The worst part is that the listing said there is SOME on property parking. NO FREE PARKING. The only choice is on the street unprotected or 40.00 a night valet. Our room was equivalent to a motel 6. The beds are a hard firm and the lights kept flickering, the noise was so bad, like the windows were open. The heater in our room did not work so we were brought a room space heater that was so loud and old. The toilet seat was completely broken off. Our stay was miserable from lack of sleep to being cold and having to leave a huge deposit and pay valet. Will not stay here ever again and would not recommend. Also there is no coffee service unless you want to pay way too much for a tiny cup in the restaurant.

I had a very nice time. Service was great from everyone in the location. They were very professional yet very friendly which made my stay much more pleasant. I had the opportunity to eat being the convention I went was in the same hotel and the food was great every day!! I would recommend the stay it's walking distance to the riverwalk and very nice.

Service at the front desk was prompt. The ballet were extremely nice and helpful. Hotel is clean and our room looked nice. It’s located at the far end of one of the Riverwalk areas, but not in the heart, just a few blocks walk to where all the action is.

Front desk was helpful during check-in very friendly. The room was clean and well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. My location is perfect for the river and walking around downtown many historic sites. Highly recommend.

Great budget friendly stay for family of 3! Friendly desk clerks, valet parking, and easy access to walk to many downtown attractions. Didn’t try the restaurant. But the cafe in the first floor is awesome! Bonus was the game room to keep myself and kiddo busy early in the morning while dad slept in. We will definitely stay here again. A+

The hotel was close to all of the major places of interest, nothing was more than a walk away. The staff were professional and friendly and the lobby and our room were clean. However, some of the areas away from the lobby were dated and need some general attention

Bathroom sink and shower both get clogged and won’t drain after use. The vent fan does t work in the bathroom so the shower stream gets everything in the bathroom wet. The cafe downstairs served me a salad that I found a large piece of plastic in and they didn’t give me a new one or discount it.

Everyone was nice and friendly, great hospitality!! The restaurant at the hotel was delicious. The hotel it self is kind of old, however the interior is nice and updated. The rooms are kind of outdated and the beds are not really comfortable. But the hotel itself is still nice. Also the only parking is valet which is $40 a night. They have offsite parking but enter at your own risk.

When i arrieved there was a basker sitting on the desk that was a "wet bar." I never touched. The i recieved a $36 bill and all it said was "wet bar." I have called 3 times and have been set to voice mail and noone has contacted me back.

Our hotel room was fine. On the first morning we put the Do Not Disturb sign out but they came in our room anyways. They had a group of high school kids come in that were a bit noisy. But on the last day we packed up and then went to get breakfast. We hadn't checked out yet and had the Do Not Disturb sign up. The cleaners came in anyways, cocked the door open, and removed the bedding and towels to clean. They didn't remove all the towels only the ones used. When we cam back and our door was opened we were shocked. We were more shocked when we saw the blood stains and all on the mattress pad where we had been sleeping. It pretty much made us sick.

Originally planned to stay at a different hotel but found this gem while walking around the Riverwalk area. Not directly on Riverwalk but there is an entrance to the Riverwalk right across the street from the hotel. We had a room with a pool view. The pool is small but well kept. There was a lot of seating options around the pool that were very comfortable and all in great shape. The turf type grass in the pool area was great. The hotel bar/restaurant was fantastic! Did not get the young lady’s name working there but she was so sweet and outgoing and was on top of everything. We went for a few drinks and even though the place had quite a few guests in there, we never had to wait to get our drinks refreshed. She was amazing!! Room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of towels. Water pressure for shower was great. Price was very good for the area we were in. The hotel has its own parking garage attached to it but you can’t use it unless you’re valet parking. There was a public parking lot about a block away that was cheaper and worked great for us. We were there for State Marching Competition at the Alamodome and it was about a 5-7 minute drive from the hotel to the Alamodome. I would definitely stay at the River Plaza Hotel again and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Not a great neighborhood, lobby is very nice, personnel helpful. No coffee or breakfast served. Room was spartan, bathroom was deplorable. Nice towels. Quiet. Easy walking to good restaurant. No fresh air, windows sealed. No outdoor access.

Excellent location, restaurant and a coffee shop on premises, comfortable bed, no city noise, pool, unique decor. There were drinks for purchase in the room including 2 small bottles of proseco in the fridge. We parked in the 5 min walk city parking for $10 a day. I recommend this hotel and would come back.

Well at first it was ok until the first morning when we noticed the tub was plugged up. We call for help. Maintenance came up and cleared it up a little. The next few days it continued to clog up. There was a smell in the sink which we thought was due to the clogged drain in the tub. Also the electrical outlet in bathroom was not working. Maintenance came up and supposedly fixed it. The did not,

This is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in! The staff are incredible! Friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. The rooms are clean and the bed was super comfortable. The valet parking was much appreciated. When I discovered I had left something in the care the valet went back to get it for me. Excellent hotel with great service!!!

The restroom had hair on the floor and in the shower. I didn’t feel like it was clean. The beds were hard. The “view of the Riverwalk” technically yes, but, it’s a part of the riverwalk where there is not any restaurants or boats, etc. The checkin was quick! There was an area downstairs for watching TV and they had some cool games. The pool and area around the pool was very nice!

The "river" view was hideous! The bed, was the absolute worse hotel bed we've ever slept on. Don't let "plaza" fool you into thinking it was a swanky place. Customer service was fantastic, but get a much better mattress!!

Staff were pleasant and beds were comfy. We asked for a towel change which didn’t happen so we were unable to wash on our second night. I chased with reception, they instructed me to leave old towels outside the room but these were still not changed. We specifically chose this hotel for the outdoor heated pool. My kids had to swim in freezing water as apparently the pool heater was broken (as was the elevator when we arrived)…..really disappointing. Did we have bad luck timing or has it actually been down a while?

The hotel room we were put in had 2 queen size beds and one was completely worn to wear, literally reignited back problems that I have not had in a while, the mattress was thin and felt like sleeping on the frame itself. Room was not refreshed after 3 days of staying there and had to make multiple requests to get towels sent up
